To check the return deadline for an Amazon Prime Day order in the United States, open Your Orders, select the purchase and start its return flow. After you submit a return request, use the return-by date in Amazon’s confirmation email or the Return Request tab in Order History. That order-specific date—not the Prime Day sale date—is the one to follow.
How to find your Prime Day order’s return deadline
- Sign in to the Amazon account used to place the order and open Your Orders.
- Find the Prime Day purchase and select its return option. The options shown can depend on the item, seller or reason for return. Amazon’s return instructions explain how to start the process.
- Review the item’s eligibility and follow the on-screen directions.
- Once you have started the return, check the confirmation email or the Return Request tab in Order History. Complete the required drop-off or carrier pickup by the return-by date shown there. Amazon’s US return policy says to use that displayed deadline.
Why the deadline can vary by item
Amazon says most items can be returned within 30 days of delivery, but that is a general rule, not a guarantee for every Prime Day purchase. Exceptions apply, and Amazon directs customers to check an item’s eligibility in Order History. The item’s return flow is more useful than calculating a deadline from the day you ordered or from the end of Prime Day.

The current Amazon.com help pages do not establish a special return extension for Prime Day purchases as a group. Check the date attached to your own return request rather than assuming the event changes the standard window.
What if you miss the return-by date?
Amazon’s US policy says a late fee may apply if you do not complete the required drop-off or carrier pickup by the displayed date. The policy describes a possible fee of 20% of the item price during the first 30 days after that date, and 100% afterward. These are policy-stated possible fees, not a claim that every late return will receive the same charge; consult the policy and your return instructions for your order.

If the return option or order is missing
If the order does not appear, the item is marked ineligible, or you need an exception, contact Amazon Customer Service. Do not assume that the general 30-day rule overrides what the order page shows.
