Graperain’s A733 development board pairs a gold-finger system-on-module with a carrier board, configurable LPDDR5 memory and an M.2 slot described for 2280-format SSDs. Its processor is Allwinner’s A733—not Rockchip, despite a conflicting chip-brand label on Graperain’s English product page. The key buying caveat: an M.2 2280 slot does not by itself guarantee that a particular NVMe drive will work or boot.
What the Graperain A733 board is
Graperain presents the product as an A733 gold-finger module and carrier board for embedded development. The module contains the processor and memory configuration; the carrier exposes connections for using the system. This is a different implementation from a single-board computer, and its available ports and storage behavior depend on Graperain’s board design.

There is a naming inconsistency to watch for: the English Graperain page labels the chip “Rockchip A733,” while Allwinner’s product material and Graperain’s Chinese page identify A733 as an Allwinner SoC. The silicon vendor’s documentation supports calling it the Allwinner A733. Graperain’s English product page and Chinese product page describe the board and its options.

What Allwinner’s A733 provides
Allwinner’s 2026 product material specifies an octa-core arrangement of two Arm Cortex-A76 cores and six Cortex-A55 cores, an Imagination PowerVR BXM-4-64 MC1 GPU, a 3-TOPS NPU, and a RISC-V XuanTie E902 MCU. These are vendor-listed capabilities, not independent performance measurements or guarantees about software support on this particular carrier board. Allwinner’s A733 product material also lists support for LPDDR4, LPDDR4x and LPDDR5 memory, UFS and eMMC storage, and PCIe 3.0.

What the RISC-V coprocessor means
The E902 is a RISC-V microcontroller included in the A733 platform. The materials reviewed do not specify its intended workload or how developers access it on Graperain’s board. Do not assume a particular real-time, sensor-control or other coprocessor workflow without board-specific documentation.
Memory and onboard storage options
Graperain’s Chinese product page lists LPDDR5 configurations of 2, 4, 8 or 16 GB, along with multiple eMMC capacities. These are product-page options, not a guarantee that every combination is currently in stock. The page does not establish that every A733 platform storage interface is implemented on this board: Allwinner’s UFS and eMMC support describes the SoC, while Graperain specifically lists eMMC configurations.

Graperain describes one M.2 slot that supports 2280-format SSDs. That supports looking for an M.2 2280 PCIe SSD, but the published information does not settle every compatibility question for every board revision. In particular, it does not establish connector keying, exact PCIe lane wiring, drive power limits, NVMe boot support or operating-system driver behavior.

Before ordering a drive, ask Graperain to confirm the following for the specific board revision and configuration:
- Whether the slot is wired for PCIe NVMe, and its lane configuration.
- Which M.2 keying and 2280 drive types the connector accepts.
- Whether the board supplies sufficient power for the intended SSD.
- Whether the selected software image supports the drive, and whether NVMe boot is supported if you need it.
An M.2 form-factor match is not a compatibility guarantee. If the vendor cannot confirm a particular drive, treat its operation and boot behavior as unverified rather than assuming that any 2280 NVMe SSD will work.

Software, documentation and development fit
Graperain’s product materials mention Android 15, Buildroot and Debian 11, and provide documentation downloads. That establishes that these software names appear in the product materials, but not that current images, complete source, peripheral support or ongoing updates are available for every configuration. Confirm the image version, supported board revision and documentation with the vendor before making software support a purchase requirement.
Graperain positions the product for customers with development capability and cautions that it is not aimed at beginners. Expect to verify configuration and software details with the vendor rather than relying on a plug-and-play promise.

- OrangePi Zero 4 is equipped with the powerful Allwinner A733 high-performance processor. It adopts a dual-core Cortex-A76 + six-core Cortex-A55 architecture with a maximum clock speed of 2.0GHz. It integrates the Imagination PowerVR BXM-4-64 GPU and a 3 TOPS NPU, and supports LPDDR5/LPDDR4X/LPDDR4 memory.
- Orange pi zero 4 single board comeputer along with a Gigabit Ethernet port and Wi-Fi 6 + BT 5.4. For video output, it provides Mini HDMI 2.0 (4K@60fps) and a Type-C @DP1.4 interface (with built-in DP output) for connecting to high-definition displays.
- In terms of interfaces, the Orange pi Zero 4 4G offers dual MIPI CSI camera interfaces, a 16Pin FPC (PCIe 3.0 & USB 3.1), a 13Pin expansion header (USB2.0, I2C, UART, PWM, I2S (Digital Audio Input/Output), TWI Digital MIC, IR receiver, GPIO), a 26Pin GPIO(I2C、UART、PWM、SPI、GPIO), as well as a dedicated RJ45 Ethernet port and Type-C (supporting USB 3.1 + eDP/DP). With dimensions of 50mm × 55mm — smaller than a business card — it still delivers full desktop-class development capabilities.
- Orange Pi Zero 4 is a well-balanced and powerful pocket rocket. While maintaining the Zero series’ compact size and high cost-performance ratio, its configuration of “high-performance CPU + 3 TOPS NPU + 4K display + Gigabit networking + rich interfaces” expands its use cases from basic maker and educational projects to mid-to-high-end applications that demand more in multimedia, networking, and AI computing power.
- It is especially suitable for projects that require high integration, low power consumption, and excellent cost efficiency.
How it differs from the Radxa Cubie A7S
The Radxa Cubie A7S is another product based on the A733, but its specifications are not specifications for Graperain’s module and carrier. Radxa documents the Cubie A7S as an SBC with LPDDR5 options up to 16 GB, a PCIe 3.0 x1 NVMe expansion path, and an E902 MCU rated up to 200 MHz. Those details apply to the Cubie A7S only. Radxa’s Cubie A7S documentation is useful for understanding that separate board, not for filling gaps in Graperain’s documentation.
Quick Recap
What to confirm before ordering
- The precise board revision and whether the purchase is for the module, carrier, or both.
- The available LPDDR5 and eMMC configuration, and whether that combination is currently offered.
- The carrier’s connectors and the documentation for the interfaces your design needs.
- M.2 keying, PCIe wiring, power, OS support and boot behavior for your intended SSD.
- Which current Android, Buildroot or Debian images and support materials are available for that revision.
- Current price, inventory and shipping terms. A September 30, 2026 report said pricing was not listed at that time; it does not establish current pricing or availability. LinuxGizmos’ September 30, 2026 coverage provides that dated context.
