Catalog starting prices observed range from CAD $3,679.99 to $5,599.99, but the price at checkout depends on the configuration and any current offer. Alienware 18 Area-51 AA18250 CAD $5,599.99 18-inch display, up to 280 W total gaming power and dual Thunderbolt 5 Type-C ports.

These prices are Dell Canada catalog snapshots checked in 2026. Which Alienware laptop should I buy in Canada?

Choose by the specific display, graphics and configuration you need rather than by the Alienware name alone. Dell’s listing establishes specifications and options, but does not establish comparative real-world gaming frame rates.

  • Consider the 16 Aurora if its listed 16-inch WQXGA 120 Hz screen and graphics options up to RTX 5070 meet your needs.
  • Consider the 16X Aurora if you want the Intel Core Ultra Plus platform or the option of a 240 Hz anti-glare OLED panel.
  • Consider the 16 Area-51 if you want a broader listed graphics range, from RTX 5060 through RTX 5090, or memory configurations up to 64 GB. Dell lists up to 240 W total gaming power.
  • Consider the 18 Area-51 if an 18-inch screen and the cited 300 Hz WQXGA LCD configuration matter more than a smaller chassis. Dell lists up to 280 W total gaming power.

Dell says optional anti-glare OLED panels on the 16 Area-51 and 16X Aurora have a 0.2 ms response time and 240 Hz refresh rate. That specification does not by itself establish how a game will perform; performance depends on the selected hardware and software.

How much does an Alienware Area-51 cost in Canada?

Dell Canada’s observed 2026 catalog starting prices were CAD $5,549.99 for the 16 Area-51 and CAD $5,599.99 for the 18 Area-51. Configuration and offers can change what a particular system costs. Dell’s pages state that customization and service choices can change the price, so review the final Canadian checkout total rather than relying on a catalog starting figure.

Can you upgrade RAM in an Alienware 16 Area-51?

Dell says the Area-51 laptops have two DDR5 SO-DIMM slots and support up to 64 GB. The 16 Area-51 configurator also lists Dell-sold memory configurations up to 64 GB, so RAM is a documented potential upgrade path. This does not guarantee that every third-party kit will work in every system.

Before buying memory, confirm the exact model, DDR5 type, supported speed, capacity and Dell’s service instructions. Dell’s Area-51 product information describes the memory slots and capacity; use service documentation for the precise machine before opening it.

Can I add or replace the SSD?

Dell’s AA16250 configurator lists a 1 TB M.2 2230 Gen4 SSD and M.2 2280 Gen5 options, including multi-drive configurations. That establishes that storage configurations vary, but the listed options alone do not confirm which internal slot is free in a specific laptop or whether a drive can be added rather than substituted.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Check the exact model’s internal slot layout and service procedure before purchasing a drive. Match its physical size—2230 or 2280—and interface to the intended slot. Confirm whether your plan is to replace the installed drive or add a second one; do not assume a free slot from the configurator’s multi-drive options. Dell’s AA16250 configurator shows the available drive configurations.

  • Final Canadian price: Check current offers, shipping, taxes and service selections at checkout. Catalog starting prices are snapshots.
  • Service terms: The cited 16 and 18 Area-51 configurations list Basic Hardware Service with mail-in service and describe an onsite support upgrade after remote diagnosis. The selected service duration and terms depend on the configuration and offer; verify them in the order details.
  • Keyboard and regional details: Confirm the keyboard layout and the configuration being shipped to your location. Dell’s pages surface a Québec repairability-information link, but the cited specifications do not establish a repairability score or a broader consumer-rights conclusion.

Dell’s product and configurator pages are the source for the specifications and price snapshots above. They do not provide independent gaming benchmarks or validate particular third-party memory and SSD products.
