Before publishing a page in Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) as a Cloud Service, verify its content and properties, release timing, publication scope, permissions, and rendered behavior. The biggest avoidable surprises are a child page left unpublished, a missing referenced asset, or a scheduled page that was never published in the first place. Use this checklist for AEM as a Cloud Service; interfaces and behavior can differ in AEM 6.5 or a customized authoring setup.
1. Confirm the page and its properties
Start with the page you intend to release, not just the text you edited. Review its title, content, and context in the site. In AEM, page properties can affect the displayed title, branding, and permissions; some values may be inherited. Available properties depend on the page type, so inspect the actual page rather than assuming every page has the same fields. See Adobe’s Page Properties documentation.

- Confirm that you are working on the correct page and language or site section.
- Check the page title and any properties that affect how it appears or who can access it.
- Review inherited values and confirm they are appropriate for this page.
2. Review the SEO fields your site uses
Check the fields required by your site’s SEO policy, rather than treating every available field as mandatory. Depending on the implementation, these may include the canonical URL, robots directives, sitemap inclusion, and structured data. Adobe notes that an empty canonical URL uses the page URL as the canonical; when robots choices conflict, the more permissive choice takes precedence. Sitemap selection can include the page and its descendants. The Page component can emit supported structured data as JSON-LD in the page head. Verify the resulting output against your site’s policy and implementation in Adobe’s Page Properties guidance and Page Component documentation.

3. Verify when the page should become visible
Compare the page’s On Time and Off Time values with the release plan. If the page is not yet published and auto-replication is not configured, setting an On Time value alone will not publish it; visitors may encounter a 404. For immediate availability, Adobe’s normal guidance is to leave On Time and Off Time empty. Check the page’s publication state as well as its schedule in the Page Properties documentation.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. - Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
- For a scheduled release, confirm the page is published or that the required auto-replication setup is in place.
- For an immediate release, confirm the time fields do not unintentionally defer or end visibility.
4. Choose the right publication scope
The publishing action determines what goes live. Publishing from the Page Editor is shallow: it publishes the selected page, not its children. In the Sites Console, Manage Publication provides options to include children and references. Check whether the release needs assets, tags, referenced content, or child pages, and select the appropriate scope. Adobe documents these entry points and scope differences in its Page Editor publishing guide and Sites Console publishing guide.
| Publishing route | Useful when | Scope to verify |
|---|---|---|
| Page Editor | You are publishing the selected page. | The action is shallow; child pages are not automatically published. |
| Sites Console: Manage Publication | You need to manage a set of pages or include references. | Choose whether to include children and references for this publication. |
If page order matters, publish the parent and its children together in one Manage Publication action. Adobe warns that order is not guaranteed when publishing only children or when parent and child pages are published in separate actions.

5. Confirm permissions and workflow status
Check that the person initiating publication has the required publishing privileges and that any team-specific approval or workflow is complete. If a user lacks publishing privileges, AEM can trigger a workflow to notify someone who has them; workflows may also be part of the publication process. Approval ownership and policy are site-specific, not one universal AEM requirement. See Adobe’s Sites Console publishing documentation.
6. Inspect the live rendering and test important paths
Review the rendered page in context, including the navigation and customer-specific behavior that matter for the release. Cloud Manager offers functional and UI testing and an experience audit based on Google Lighthouse. The experience audit defaults to the publish root and can be configured with up to 25 custom paths, so a root-page audit should not be treated as a check of every page. Adobe also says its built-in quality gates are not a comprehensive testing framework. Its Functional Testing documentation and Go-Live Checklist describe the available checks and recommend an end-to-end production pipeline with functional and UI testing.

7. Apply your team’s editorial and compliance checks
Link checks, accessibility, spelling, analytics, and legal review can all belong in a pre-publish process, but their exact requirements depend on the site’s components, standards, and review owners. Use the approved local checklist for each area; do not assume a particular field, tool, or approval rule is built into every AEM installation.
