Adobe announced on September 29, 2026, that its CX Enterprise Coworker was available in ChatGPT, bringing enterprise marketing workflows and Adobe customer-experience context into the chatbot. Adobe also named itself an OpenAI Marketplace launch partner and said Workfront’s connection to OpenAI’s Agents API was planned for October 2026—not live on announcement day.

What Adobe announced at OpenAI DevDay

Adobe described CX Enterprise Coworker as a way for marketers to coordinate customer-experience work across Adobe applications and other enterprise systems, using business context from tools their teams already use. Adobe said that context carries across sessions and workflow stages, including audience curation, journey design, asset creation, offer decisioning, and channel activation. Adobe’s September 29 announcement also says enterprise policies and approval touchpoints govern the workflows.

The announcement makes two distinct partnership points: Adobe was an OpenAI Marketplace launch partner, and Workfront was expected to connect to OpenAI’s Agents API in October. The latter was a plan, not confirmation of a completed integration.

What marketers can do with CX Enterprise Coworker

Adobe’s examples describe asking questions and requesting work in natural language. They are vendor examples, not independently tested demonstrations.

  • Investigate journey performance by asking which active customer journey has the largest drop-off in its first 24 hours, then examining the affected step and audience overlap.
  • Build and save a B2B prospect segment using criteria such as financial-services prospects who have not engaged in 30 days, while excluding people already in an active nurture journey.
  • Find approved campaign assets in Adobe Experience Manager.
  • Create a Workfront campaign project with a budget, tasks, and approval steps.

Adobe says the system can carry relevant business context from one stage of this work to another, rather than treating each request as an isolated prompt. The announcement does not enumerate every connected data source, system, or action available to each customer.

How Workfront and human review fit in

Adobe said Workfront would integrate with OpenAI’s Agents API in October 2026, allowing enterprise customers to deploy ChatGPT agents as AI Collaborators inside Workfront. Adobe described potential collaborator tasks such as asset quality assurance, copywriting, and localization. The work would be routed back for human review and final approval, with permissions, oversight, and an audit trail.

That October schedule is what Adobe announced; it does not establish that the integration has shipped. Organizations considering it should confirm current availability and configuration with Adobe or OpenAI.

Marketplace spending and availability details

Adobe said enterprise customers could apply existing OpenAI spend toward a CX Enterprise Coworker license. The announcement does not specify the precise licensing mechanics, eligible geographies, ChatGPT plans, customer configurations, or which OpenAI Marketplace terms apply. Buyers should confirm those details before treating existing spend as a particular license entitlement.

Adobe also reported that more than 2,500 customers and early adopters already had CX Enterprise Coworker, and said campaign timelines that previously spanned weeks could be compressed to days. Those are Adobe’s claims; the announcement provides no measurement method or independent validation.

What enterprise buyers should verify

The announcement describes the product’s intended workflows and some governance features, but leaves important implementation questions open. Before deployment, clarify:

  • Which Adobe data, applications, and other enterprise systems will actually be connected.
  • Which actions the Coworker or an AI Collaborator can execute, and which require human approval.
  • How context persistence, user permissions, policy boundaries, and audit trails work in the organization’s configuration.
  • How licensing works and how existing OpenAI spend is applied.
  • Availability for the organization’s geography, ChatGPT plan, and customer setup.

Is there a physical product to buy?

No. This announcement concerns enterprise cloud software and workflow integrations; it does not identify a directly relevant physical product.

Sources and event context

Adobe’s announcement is the primary source for the product, Marketplace, and Workfront claims. OpenAI’s DevDay page provides event context but does not independently detail the Adobe partnership. A later Futurum analysis also discusses the announcement; its additional market figures are not needed to explain what Adobe announced.
