What does a DISH receiver cost per month?
DISH’s published fee schedule lists these monthly receiver fees. DISH says actual pricing may vary depending on when an account was created or when services were added, so confirm the amount for your account.

DISH’s fee page lists the following service-visit amounts, but it does not establish that every receiver addition requires a visit or that every visit will be classified the same way. Confirm whether a technician is needed and which fee would apply to your job.

These fee categories are published by DISH Customer Support. DISH’s agreement directs customers to call for an itemization of equipment and service costs; request one before approving the change.
Is installation free for existing DISH customers?
Do not assume so. DISH’s advertised free standard professional installation is an offer for new and qualifying former customers, not a general promise to existing subscribers. Upfront activation or receiver-upgrade fees may still apply based on credit qualification. DISH offer terms

Which receiver should you add for another TV?
DISH describes Joey receivers as a way to extend service to more rooms without putting a separate DVR in each room, and says one Joey is needed for each additional TV. Wired and wireless Joey options are available; a Wireless Joey can provide receiver functionality at another TV without the wired placement described for a standard Joey. DISH equipment
- For another room: Ask whether a Joey is the suitable receiver for the TV you want to connect.
- For wireless placement: Ask about Wireless Joey availability and any additional cost.
- If you want DVR functionality in that room: Ask whether you need a Hopper-family receiver rather than a Joey client, and how that changes the monthly fee.
Do not assume a particular Joey works with your existing receiver or account setup. Have DISH verify compatibility, activation requirements, and any upfront charge before ordering.
Why might the first bill be higher?
If DISH adds the receiver after your billing period has started, the next bill may include a prorated charge for the partial period, followed by the new recurring amount. Ask when the change will take effect and how the first bill will be calculated. DISH billing information

Request an itemized quote that separates recurring equipment costs from any one-time charges. Include these points in the conversation:

- When the receiver will be added and whether the first bill will include a prorated amount
