To add Google Calendar to a Samsung Galaxy, turn on Calendar sync for your Google account in the phone’s settings. Then, in Samsung Calendar, select that Google account as the destination when creating an event. You can also use Google’s Calendar app or calendar.google.com; installing Google Calendar is not required to see synced events in Samsung Calendar.
Turn on Google Calendar sync on your Samsung Galaxy
Menu names can vary by Galaxy model, Android version, and app version. On many devices, start here:

- Open Settings > Accounts and backup > Manage accounts.
- Tap the Google account you want to use, then tap Sync account or Account sync.
- Turn on Calendar. If the option is already on, use the account menu’s manual sync command if available.
- Open Samsung Calendar and create a test event. In the calendar or account selector, choose the Google account, then save.
- Check that the event appears under the intended account in Google Calendar or at calendar.google.com.
Samsung’s support instructions describe selecting the Google account from the calendar selector, sometimes reached through “My calendars.” A Galaxy Z Fold6 manual also documents adding calendars through the Calendar app’s menu and Manage calendars; those app-menu labels are model-specific, not a guaranteed route on every Galaxy. Samsung notes that settings and menu names may vary by device and software version. Samsung’s Galaxy sync instructions and the Galaxy Z Fold6 user manual show these approaches.

Once account sync is enabled, you can use the interface that suits you. Google supports using its Calendar app, its website in a browser, or another calendar app that supports Google account syncing. Samsung Calendar is a convenient option if you prefer Samsung’s built-in app; Google Calendar is useful if you want Google’s own interface and features. Some local or third-party accounts may not support every Calendar feature. Google explains the Android calendar options here.

If events are missing, check these in order
- Check connectivity and app updates. Make sure Wi-Fi or mobile data is working, airplane mode is off, and the calendar app is up to date.
- Make the calendar visible. In the calendar app, check that the specific calendar containing the event is selected and displayed.
- Confirm where the event was saved. An event saved to a phone-only or different account calendar may not appear in the Google account. Open the event details or edit screen and check its calendar or account.
- Check account-level sync. In Android settings, open the Google account’s sync settings and make sure Calendar is enabled. Android’s settings vary by phone; Google says some instructions apply only to Android 9.0 and later.
- Check the calendar’s own sync option. In Google Calendar, open the menu and settings for the individual calendar and look for its Sync setting. Google says this option is available for calendars you create, not the primary calendar. Refresh manually if needed and allow time for changes to appear.
- Check device storage. Google states, “When your device runs out of storage, the Calendar app stops syncing.” Free space if the phone is full.
- Use the web for older events. Google Calendar’s Android app syncs past events only up to one year; use calendar.google.com to find older history.
- Clear app storage only as a last resort. Google warns this can remove unsynced event data that is not present in Google Calendar on the web. Verify that important events are visible online before trying it.
Google’s troubleshooting steps cover visibility, connectivity, sync, storage, and the one-year history limit in more detail: Fix sync problems with the Google Calendar app.
Prevent sync conflicts and unwanted data sharing
Before changing sync settings, confirm that the phone is using the right Google account and that events are assigned to the right calendar. Samsung warns that sync uses the most recently modified data and that incorrect configuration could delete events from the phone or Google account. Treat account and destination checks as essential before changing settings. Samsung’s guidance includes this sync warning.

If events show in Google Calendar but disappear from Samsung Calendar, a widget, or another app, check Android’s Share Google Calendar data with other apps setting. Turning it off can affect third-party calendar apps and widgets that rely on Android’s Calendar Provider; Google says its own apps signed in with the account are not affected. Google explains the data-sharing setting.

Google Calendar can use multiple Google accounts. To add another, add the account to the device and then enable Calendar sync for it. To stop one account from syncing, open the device’s account settings, select that account, and turn off Calendar under its sync options. Check which account owns events before changing sync, so you do not mistake hidden or unsynced events for deleted ones. Google’s account instructions cover adding accounts and managing sync.
