AceThinker iPhone Data Recovery Review: Features, Trial, Price and Limits (2026)

AceThinker iPhone Data Recovery scans iPhones, iTunes backups and iCloud backups. Here is how each route works, what the trial shows before you pay, the 2026 Windows prices, and the limits of its recovery claims.
Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

AceThinker iPhone Data Recovery can scan a connected iPhone, an iTunes backup, or an iCloud backup for lost data, and its free trial lets you see what it finds. It does not let you save that data without buying a registered license, and the vendor itself says it cannot guarantee recovery. Whether it is worth paying for depends on whether the files you need still appear in a trial scan, which you can check before spending any money. This review covers what the tool does, how each recovery route works, what it costs as of October 2026, and where its limits lie.

What the tool claims to recover

AceThinker’s product page lists recovery of photos, videos, contacts, messages, notes, call history, reminders, voicemail, and WhatsApp data, among other categories. It describes a workflow of connecting the device where applicable, scanning, previewing the results, selecting the items you want, and recovering them to the computer. The page also describes the software as part of the Fone Keeper toolkit. These are the vendor’s own descriptions of the product; no independent test of how well it recovers each category was found.

The three recovery routes

The software offers three different ways to search for data, and each depends on something different. Choosing the right one matters more than any feature list.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Scanning the iPhone directly

This route reads the phone over a USB connection. AceThinker’s user guide recommends installing the latest version of iTunes on the computer first, because iTunes installs the Apple device drivers the computer needs to communicate with the phone. The sequence is:

#1 Best Overall
iRecovery Stick - iPhone Recovery Stick for Data Extraction Tool
  • The iRecovery Stick extracts messages, call history, contacts, web history, calendar appointments, photos, voice memos, email accounts, and map history directly from iPhone and iPad devices. Running entirely from the USB stick with no software installed on the device or computer, it leaves no trace that an extraction was performed.
  • Uncover images concealed using photo-hiding apps and use the iSearch keyword function to search for specific words, names, phone numbers, or symbols across the entire device at once, eliminating the need to manually browse through individual apps and folders. Bookmark important findings and export content for reporting and analysis.
  • The iRecovery Stick processes phone backup files stored on your Windows PC or copied from a Mac computer. If a device was backed up to a computer before items were deleted, those items may still be recoverable from the backup. Photos sent in text message conversations but deleted from the photo library may also be recovered if the conversation was not deleted.
  • The iRecovery Stick requires physical access to the target device. The user must be able to disable the passcode, Touch ID, or Face ID before extraction begins. If the device was previously backed up to a computer using a password, that password will also be required to process the backup data.
  • Use the iRecovery Stick on as many iPhone and iPad devices as needed with no per-device fees. Free lifetime updates ensure ongoing compatibility with future iOS versions, backed by 25+ years of data software expertise from Paraben Consumer Software.
  1. Install or update iTunes on the Windows computer, then open AceThinker iPhone Data Recovery.
  2. Connect the iPhone with a USB cable. The cable must work with both your phone and your computer’s ports, so check the connector type before you buy one.
  3. If the iPhone asks whether to trust the computer, unlock the phone and tap Trust, then enter the passcode if prompted.
  4. Select the iPhone recovery mode in the software and start the scan.
  5. When the scan finishes, preview the categories and select only the items you need before recovering them.

If the phone is not detected, the usual causes are a cable that only charges, an iTunes installation that is out of date, or a trust prompt that was dismissed. AceThinker’s FAQ includes a question about an iPhone that cannot be detected, so check its answer first.

Reading an iTunes backup

If you have made a backup with iTunes or Finder on a computer, the software can open that local backup and search it without touching the phone. This route is useful when the phone is lost, damaged, or no longer connects. If the backup was encrypted, you will need its password to read the contents. Backup-based recovery only shows what was included in the last backup, so anything created after that backup will not appear.

Rank #2
Data Recovery software compatible with Windows 11, 10, 8.1, 7 – recover deleted and lost files – rescue deleted images, photos, audios, videos, documents and more
  • Data recovery software for retrieving lost files
  • Easily recover documents, audios, videos, photos, images and e-mails
  • Rescue the data deleted from your recycling bin
  • Prepare yourself in case of a virus attack
  • Program compatible with Windows 11, 10, 8.1, 7

Reading an iCloud backup

The third route signs in to an iCloud account and downloads data from an iCloud backup. It requires the correct Apple ID and password and an existing iCloud backup. Like the local backup route, the results reflect the state of the backup at the time it was made, not the phone’s current contents.

Trial, price and what you actually pay for

The free trial can scan the device, the iTunes backup, and the iCloud backup. It can show you the files it finds, but recovering and saving those files to the computer requires the registered version. That makes the trial a practical checkpoint: run the scan, confirm that the specific messages or photos you need appear, and only then decide whether to buy.

Rank #3
Data Recovery Stick for Windows Data Recovery Software – Photos, Files
  • The Data Recovery Stick requires no technical skills — simply plug it into your Windows computer, click Start, and the software automatically begins scanning and recovering lost files within minutes. Compatible with Windows Vista, 7, 8, 10, & 11, it's designed to be a reliable first step when accidental deletion occurs.
  • Recover photos (JPG, BMP, PNG, TIFF), Microsoft Office documents (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Access), Open Office files, MP3 music files, PDFs, RTF documents, AutoCAD files, and HTML web pages. Whether it's personal memories or critical business files, the Data Recovery Stick covers the file types that matter most.
  • Works with hard drives, USB drives, SD cards, memory sticks, and other common storage formats that use FAT or NTFS file systems — making it a single solution for hard drive recovery, USB drive recovery, SD card recovery, and more. Note: a media reader is required for micro SD cards and some mass storage devices.
  • No Installation Required - The Data Recovery Stick runs entirely from the USB drive with no software installation on your computer — helping prevent new data from overwriting the files you're trying to recover. This also makes it ideal for use across multiple computers or in emergency situations where installation isn't practical.
  • Use the Data Recovery Stick on as many computers as often as needed — simply clear the recovered data between uses to free up storage space. Software updates keep the tool compatible with newer systems and devices, backed by 25+ years of data software expertise from Paraben Consumer Software.

Recovery limits and how to read the success claims

The most important limit is one AceThinker states itself. Its support FAQ answers the question of whether the tool can recover any data by saying: “Though the tool has a high success rate, it cannot guarantee a 100% recovery rate.” It also says success depends on whether the desired data has been overwritten. Once new photos, messages, or app data are written over deleted files, those files may be gone for good regardless of the software.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

The product page displays a “99.7% Recovery Rate.” That figure is a marketing claim. The page does not describe how it was measured, what files were tested, or under what conditions, and no independent study of AceThinker’s recovery rate was found. Treat it as the vendor’s claim rather than a verified result.

A review article from Computer Tech Reviews repeats the product’s recovery modes, file categories, and device support. The text describes the features but does not report a reproducible test or measured recovery results, so it adds no evidence of effectiveness either.

To limit overwrite risk after you lose data, stop using the iPhone for anything that writes new content, such as taking photos, receiving messages you need to keep, or downloading apps, until recovery is finished. Recovering from a backup does not depend on the phone’s current state, so it is worth checking for a backup first.

Compatibility

The product page lists support for Windows 11, 10, 8, and 7, and for macOS 10.13 or later. It names iPhone models through the iPhone 15 generation. The material available for this review does not confirm support for newer iPhone models or for the current iOS version as of October 2026. Check the product’s current requirements on the seller’s page before buying, particularly if you use a recent phone or a recent iOS update.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Before you buy: a short checklist

  • Confirm whether an iCloud backup or a local iTunes or Finder backup exists, since that route may be faster and more reliable than a direct scan.
  • Check that your computer’s operating system and your iPhone model appear in the current requirements.
  • Run the free trial scan and confirm that the specific files you need are listed before you pay.
  • Check the refund window for the plan you choose; the monthly plan has a shorter window than the yearly and lifetime plans.
  • Do not treat the recovery-rate figure as a guarantee for your particular files.

AceThinker iPhone Data Recovery is a legitimate option with a useful free scan, but its claims about success are the vendor’s, and the trial scan is the only step that tells you what it will find on your phone.
