That makes Tensor G6 the leader in these particular CPU results—not a proven winner in every app, game, or phone. The figures are tied to different devices, and the available evidence does not establish a matched comparison of graphics, sustained performance, heat, or battery life.
Specifications at a glance
| Comparison | Apple A16 Bionic | Google Tensor G6 |
|---|---|---|
| Documented phone context | iPhone 14 Pro, introduced in 2022 | Pixel 11 family, including Pixel 11 Pro, according to Google and Google’s hardware specifications |
| CPU configuration | 6-core CPU: 2 performance cores and 4 efficiency cores | Google’s cited product materials do not state a CPU core layout |
| GPU and AI hardware | 5-core GPU and 16-core Neural Engine | Google promotes Tensor G6 for Pixel AI and camera features; its materials do not provide an apples-to-apples accelerator-throughput comparison |
| Geekbench 6.7.1 single-core, listed | 2,574 points | 2,687 points on Pixel 11 Pro XL |
| Geekbench 6.7.1 multi-core, listed | 6,448 points | 7,220 points on Pixel 11 Pro XL |
The A16 specifications and iPhone introduction context come from Apple’s iPhone 14 Pro technical specifications. Google identifies Tensor G6 with Pixel 11 phones in its Tensor overview; its Pixel hardware specifications provide device-level processor listings. The benchmark figures are Notebookcheck’s listed results, not a vendor-published or controlled head-to-head study: Google Tensor G6 Processor – Benchmarks and Specs.

What the Geekbench results show
Notebookcheck lists Tensor G6 at 2,687 single-core points and 7,220 multi-core points, using a Pixel 11 Pro XL result. Its comparison list gives A16 Bionic 2,574 single-core and 6,448 multi-core points. In that listing, Tensor G6 is ahead by 113 points in single-core and 772 points in multi-core.

These are results from separate phone contexts, not two chips tested in identical devices under controlled conditions. Benchmark records can vary with device, software, temperature, and test conditions. Treat the scores as an indication of the listed CPU results, not a guarantee that every Pixel 11 phone will outperform every iPhone 14 Pro in every CPU task.
#1 Best Overall
- This phone is unlocked and compatible with any carrier of choice on GSM and CDMA networks (e.g. AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, Verizon, US Cellular, Cricket, Metro, Tracfone, Mint Mobile, etc.).
- Please check with your carrier to verify compatibility.
- The device does not come with headphones or a SIM card. It does include a generic (Mfi certified) charging cable.
- Tested for battery health and guaranteed to have a minimum battery capacity of 80%.
What the scores do not establish
Graphics and gaming
Geekbench CPU scores do not measure gaming performance or settle GPU throughput. The cited material does not provide a matched G6-versus-A16 graphics test. A fair gaming comparison would need the same game, settings, test duration, and device-temperature context.
Sustained speed, heat, and battery life
No matched comparison establishes which complete phone sustains performance longer, runs cooler, or lasts longer on a charge. Those outcomes depend on the phone as well as its chip; a useful comparison would hold workload, network, brightness, ambient conditions, and duration consistent. Google’s efficiency messaging is a vendor claim, not a direct A16 comparison.

AI and camera features
Google says Tensor G6 supports Pixel on-device AI and camera processing. Those are claims about Google’s platform and features, not a benchmark showing that G6’s AI hardware is faster than A16’s Neural Engine. Feature availability and results also depend on the phone and software, so raw CPU scores cannot answer which platform’s AI or camera experience better suits a particular user.

Which one should you choose?
You cannot buy either chip as a standalone upgrade. The practical choice is between phones and their operating-system ecosystems: Pixel 11 phones with Tensor G6, or the iPhone 14 Pro with A16 Bionic. The benchmark listing favors G6 for the two reported CPU tests; it does not determine which phone is the better choice overall.

- For the listed CPU results: Tensor G6 is higher in both Geekbench tests cited above.
- For gaming, long workloads, or battery life: the available results do not establish a winner; compare testing on the specific phone models and workloads you care about.
- For AI and camera use: assess the actual Pixel or iPhone features you intend to use rather than treating CPU scores as a proxy.
- For the overall purchase: weigh the complete phone, software ecosystem, and the tasks you value; the chip comparison alone cannot decide it.
