But those exact figures cannot be verified without the calculator and its inputs. The key distinction is that revenue is not profit: electricity alone can turn a large-looking estimate into a loss.
Why a $171 estimate can coexist with a $1.12 loss
Mining calculators may display different measures. One figure can be estimated coin revenue before electricity; another can be the amount left after subtracting electricity and, depending on the tool and setup, fees or other operating costs. A large gross-revenue estimate therefore does not establish that mining is profitable.

The figures in the headline cannot be tied to a specific GPU, coin, calculator, date, electricity rate, power draw, or fee assumption. The reviewed calculator pages do not reproduce that scenario, so $171 per day and a $1.12 daily loss should be treated as an unverified comparison, not as a confirmed result for a particular GPU.
How to calculate estimated daily mining profit
A useful simplified formula is:
Estimated daily net profit = estimated daily mining revenue − electricity cost − applicable fees and other operating costs.

Calculate electricity cost as:
Power in kilowatts × operating hours × electricity price per kilowatt-hour.
For example, if a computer averages 0.5 kW at the wall, runs for 24 hours, and electricity costs $0.20 per kWh, its electricity cost is 0.5 × 24 × $0.20, or $2.40 per day. That example illustrates the arithmetic only; it does not establish the cost or profitability of the headline’s unknown setup.

CalculatorMining says its profit estimate subtracts electricity costs based on power draw and the user’s rate. It advises using actual mining power draw, including system overhead, and accounting for pool fees for a more accurate estimate. [CalculatorMining GPU mining calculator]

- GPU or hashrate: Make sure the device or hashrate is the same, rather than comparing different hardware.
- Coin and algorithm: A GPU’s estimated earnings depend on what it is mining.
- Observation time: Market prices and network difficulty change, so estimates from different dates may diverge.
- Power draw and electricity rate: Check the assumed watts, rate per kWh, currency, and whether the power figure covers the GPU or the whole system.
- Operating time and fees: Check uptime and pool fees, and whether other costs are included.
- Output type: Confirm whether the result is gross revenue, electricity-adjusted profit, or another earnings estimate.
Minerstat provides separate revenue, electricity, profit, and break-even outputs and warns that profitability changes with difficulty, price, and power costs. It also says its data is provided as-is and should be verified before investing. [Minerstat mining calculator]
What current calculator examples do—and do not—show
When reviewed on October 7, 2026 UTC, NiceHash’s GPU calculator displayed estimated daily earnings of $1.03 for an Nvidia H100, $0.94 for a NVIDIA Tesla A100, and $0.86 for a NVIDIA RTX 5080. Those are dated figures shown by NiceHash, not universal net-profit results after an individual miner’s electricity bill. They also do not verify the unexplained $171-per-day figure. How to measure power use more accurately
A compatible plug-in electricity monitor can help measure the power drawn by a computer at the outlet. That reading includes the connected system, not just the GPU, and it does not confirm mining revenue. Use the measured consumption alongside your actual electricity rate; treat earnings as a separate estimate from the calculator.
