It is a digital aircraft design—not a ready-to-fly jet—and its maker’s specifications should not be confused with those of related VJM and Lofted Aero projects.
How the printable F-35B is meant to fly
RC-Jetprint describes its F-35B as a printable model developed in collaboration with Joel Vlashof of VJM Aviation. The defining feature is a rotatable rear nozzle that directs thrust, alongside pivoting slats. The nozzle is intended to provide thrust-vector control for vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) and aerobatics. These are the design provider’s descriptions; the available project information does not establish independently tested flight performance.
VJM Aviation also describes the nozzle as part of a system intended to make the EDF jet suitable for VTOL and aerobatics. Its statement that the aircraft is “very easy to fly” is a vendor claim, not an independent assessment. VJM Aviation
What the design listing specifies
RC-Jetprint lists the aircraft as version 2.0, dated July 2024. Its stated printer volume is 22 × 22 × 22 cm, with the Bambu Lab X1C given as an example. The page recommends Bambu Studio and lists LW-PLA, PLA and PA-CF low-warp nylon, all at 1.75 mm filament diameter. These are maker-supplied design and print recommendations, not comparative test results. See the RC-Jetprint F-35B listing.

What you should—and should not—assume about the build
The listing describes a digital design, so buying or downloading the files is not the same as receiving a complete aircraft. The cited project information does not provide a verified, complete bill of materials here. In particular, it does not establish which EDF, battery, ESC or other electronics a builder must use for this specific RC-Jetprint model. Treat 1.75 mm LW-PLA and a printer with roughly 220 mm cube capacity as useful starting points from the maker’s page, not a guarantee that every listed printer or material will produce a successful airframe.
The F-35B label can be confusing because several distinct aircraft and files appear in the same project orbit. Their specifications and parts are not interchangeable by default.

VJM Aviation’s Kestrel-X is a separate prototype
VJM Aviation identifies Kestrel-X as a prototype VTOL platform used to test its flight computer and F-35B swivel module. Its site lists a 1:10 scale, two 90 mm high-voltage EDFs, two 22.2 V, 5,000 mAh, 70C LiPo packs, two 80 A high-voltage ESCs, a 4.2 kg weight, carbon-fiber fuselage and wings, and 3D-printed bulkheads. The site states maximum thrust figures of 80 N for vertical takeoff and 42 N for forward flight. Those are Kestrel-X specifications, not specifications for the printable RC-Jetprint F-35B. The Kestrel trainer and later composite build are also different
A video published on October 5, 2024 describes Kestrel files released as a simpler VTOL trainer for people who find the F-35B too complex. A separate video published on September 7, 2025 describes a later, larger 1:8-scale composite F-35B project, mentioning a K2 Plus printer and foaming filament. Neither description establishes that those projects are the RC-Jetprint aircraft or supplies its parts list. 2024 Kestrel trainer video · 2025 composite F-35B project video

Lofted Aero sells separate designs and components
Lofted Aero lists a digital 90 mm Three-Bearing Swivel Module with STL and 3MF files, a guide and suggested hardware; its product page states compatibility with FMS 90 mm Special Metal EDF units. The company also lists its own distinct 90 mm EDF F-35B VTOL digital design, with STL and 3MF files, foam-part templates, ArduPilot firmware files, a RealFlight model and a guide. These listings do not prove that either product’s mechanism, files or components are used in the RC-Jetprint design. Lofted Aero Three-Bearing Swivel Module · Lofted Aero F-35B VTOL design

If you want to build the aircraft described here, start with the RC-Jetprint F-35B listing and confirm what its digital package includes before choosing electronics. A 1.75 mm LW-PLA filament and a printer meeting the listed 22 cm cube volume are relevant starting points. Do not select an EDF or battery from the Kestrel-X figures alone: the cited RC-Jetprint listing details do not establish those components as requirements for its F-35B.

Questions about finding files and whether a particular F-35B design has been flown appear in creator and community discussions, but those posts are not a substitute for a confirmed bill of materials or independently documented flight results. For example, an RCPlanes discussion asks about Lofted Aero’s separate design, not the RC-Jetprint model. RCPlanes discussion of Lofted Aero’s F-35B
