Paramount+ is available on a broad range of smart TVs, streaming players, phones, computers, and game consoles, so you may not need to buy a separate device. The right choice depends on whether the exact model supports the app in your country and whether your TV, device, title, and internet connection support the picture format you want.
What devices can you watch Paramount+ on?
Paramount+ names Android devices, iPhone and iPad, Apple TV, Chromecast, Fire TV, LG TVs, PlayStation, Roku, Samsung TVs, Vizio, Xbox, Xfinity, and Xumo among its platforms. Its guide also describes support for smart TVs, computers, and web browsers. These are platform examples, not a guarantee that every model or country is supported. Check compatibility for your exact model and location before buying or installing an app. Paramount+ lists its viewing platforms on its homepage, and its guide to the service discusses device categories.
- Already have a smart TV or game console? Check whether its app store offers Paramount+ before adding another player.
- Your TV lacks the app? Roku, Apple TV, Fire TV, and Chromecast are named platform options. Confirm support for the specific device generation and your country; a platform name alone does not validate every model.
- Want to watch on a computer or mobile device? Paramount+ also identifies computers and browsers, as well as mobile platforms.
Which option should you choose?
There is no evidence here establishing a fastest, most reliable, or objectively best-performing brand. Compare the candidates using practical fit rather than a blanket ranking:
- App availability: Confirm the Paramount+ app is supported on the exact device model in your country.
- Picture formats: Check the capabilities of both the streaming device and television if you want 4K or HDR.
- Everyday use: Consider the interface, remote, voice controls, and which system people in your household already know.
- Existing equipment: A compatible smart TV or console may already do the job, making a separate player unnecessary.
- Plan features: Offline downloads and local live CBS availability depend on subscription plan, not the player.
Roku
Paramount+ names Roku as a platform. A Roku player is a reasonable category to consider if your TV lacks a supported app, but verify the exact model’s app availability and format support. The platform listing does not establish that every Roku model supports Paramount+ in 4K or HDR.

Apple TV
Apple TV is listed as a viewing platform. Distinguish the standalone Paramount+ app from the Paramount+ channel inside Apple TV: the Help Center says these are separate subscription routes. A Paramount+ app subscription can be used on devices where that app is available; accessing the Apple TV Channel requires a separate subscription through Apple TV. See Paramount+ Help Center information about watching on Apple TV.
Fire TV and Chromecast
Paramount+ names Fire TV in its guide and homepage, and shows Chromecast on its homepage. Neither platform-level mention confirms that every device generation or configuration has the same app or premium-format support, so check the precise product before purchase.

Smart TVs and game consoles
The service lists several TV manufacturers and PlayStation and Xbox. If you already own a listed brand, check its app store and model-specific compatibility before spending on another device.
Will a streaming device give you 4K or HDR?
Not automatically. Paramount+ says 4K UHD, Dolby Vision, and HDR10 are available only on select titles and depend on internet service and device capabilities. The device and TV must both support the format, and the title must be offered in it. Paramount+’s US homepage states: “4K UHD, Dolby Vision and HDR10 available only on select titles, subject to your internet service and device capabilities.” Check Paramount+’s current format qualifications.

A listing for a device platform does not prove that a particular model can play every premium format. Check the specifications for the exact player and television, as well as the title’s availability; do not assume that buying a new player alone changes the stream quality.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Do plan features affect which device you need?
Some viewing options are determined by the subscription rather than the hardware. Paramount+ describes downloads as a Premium feature. Its guide dated October 1, 2026 says local CBS live viewing requires Premium, while current CBS episodes are generally available after broadcast on both Essential and Premium. Regional availability and programming can vary. See Paramount+’s plan and service guide.

How to check compatibility before you buy
- Identify the exact model and generation of your TV, streaming player, or console.
- Check Paramount+’s current supported-device information for that model and your country; a general platform listing is not a model-by-model guarantee.
- If you want 4K or HDR, verify that both the player and TV support the desired format, then confirm it is available for the title you plan to watch.
- Check that your internet service can support the playback quality you want.
- Review your plan if you need downloads or local live CBS; changing the player will not add those subscription features.
