Comodo Internet Security includes a packet-filtering firewall that checks inbound and outbound network traffic. But that does not establish that every product branded simply “Comodo Antivirus” includes the same firewall. The answer depends on the exact Comodo product and version installed.
Which Comodo products are documented to include a firewall?
Comodo’s version 12.2 Internet Security documentation describes the suite as combining antivirus with a packet-filtering firewall. The guide also describes containment as part of the suite.
Comodo’s version 12.4 Client Security documentation likewise lists antivirus, a packet-filtering firewall, and HIPS. It concerns a Windows endpoint product that can be configured and monitored through Endpoint Manager; it is not evidence that its packaging matches a consumer Antivirus download.
Those sources establish firewall inclusion for the named suites, not for every current standalone product called Comodo Antivirus. Check the product name and version shown in your installed app or installer before assuming it includes a firewall.

How Comodo’s documented firewall evaluates traffic
In the Internet Security guide, firewall policies are divided into application rules and global rules. Application rules govern network access for a particular application or application type; global rules apply across traffic. The order differs by direction:
- Outgoing connections: Comodo checks application rules first, then global rules.
- Incoming connections: Comodo checks global rules first, then application rules.
The vendor describes the firewall as monitoring traffic entering and leaving the computer, hiding ports, and helping block software from transmitting personal data. These are descriptions of intended functions, not a guarantee that every attack or data leak will be prevented. See the Internet Security introduction and its firewall guide.

What you can control in Firewall Tasks
The Internet Security firewall guide documents controls for managing application access and inspecting network activity. Depending on the product and version, Firewall Tasks lets you:
- Set Internet access rights for individual applications.
- Configure stealth ports.
- View active connections.
- Stop all network activity.
The guide also describes alerts for suspicious activity and automatic actions. For the documented task list, see Comodo’s Firewall guide and Firewall Tasks.

Firewall modes documented for Comodo Client Security
Comodo Client Security’s version 12.4 help describes four firewall modes. They are product-specific instructions; the same options or defaults may not appear in every Comodo consumer product.
| Mode | Documented behavior | Practical implication |
|---|---|---|
| Safe Mode | The documented default. Comodo can create rules for applications it classifies as safe; a new non-certified application triggers a connection alert. | Allows recognized safe applications while asking about unfamiliar ones. The guide recommends this mode for most users. |
| Custom Ruleset | Uses user-defined rules and can alert on every attempted connection. | Offers closer control, but requires more decisions and rule management. |
| Block All | Denies all network traffic. | Network and Internet access are cut off while this mode is active. |
| Training | Automatically creates allow rules for new applications while monitoring traffic. | New applications can receive network access without a prompt, so the guide advises using it only when you are sure installed applications have appropriate rights. |
These descriptions come from the Client Security Firewall Behavior Settings guide. Look for the firewall settings in your installed product rather than assuming that its mode names and defaults match this endpoint product.

How to tell whether your installation has the firewall
- Open the Comodo app or check the product name in its installer. Distinguish Internet Security or Client Security from a standalone Antivirus product.
- Check the installed version and its firewall settings or tasks. A firewall section, application access controls, or active-connection view can help identify available controls in that installation.
- If the product is labeled only Comodo Antivirus and no firewall controls are shown, do not infer coverage from documentation for Internet Security or Client Security. Confirm the feature set for that exact product and version.
The cited Comodo help pages document Internet Security version 12.2 and Client Security version 12.4; they do not settle the current feature set of every standalone Antivirus edition.
