Yes. Awesome Screenshot works with Microsoft Edge through a dedicated Edge Add-on, which its publisher recommends. You can also install the Chrome extension in Edge, but the publisher says the two options differ in version and functionality, so their features are not guaranteed to match.
Install Awesome Screenshot in Edge
Recommended: get the Edge Add-on
- In Microsoft Edge, open the Awesome Screenshot installation guide and follow its link to the Microsoft Edge Add-ons listing.
- Select Get on the listing.
- When Edge asks, select Add extension.
The publisher recommends this native Edge Add-on installation route. See the publisher’s Edge installation instructions.
Alternative: install the Chrome extension in Edge
- Open the Awesome Screenshot Chrome Web Store listing from Edge.
- Select Get or Get extension, then confirm Add extension.
- If Edge displays an Allow extensions from other stores banner, select it and continue with the installation.
This is a separate installation choice, not a way to guarantee the same version or features as the Edge Add-on. The publisher says the two differ, but does not provide a complete feature-by-feature comparison.
Show the extension in the toolbar
If the Awesome Screenshot icon is not visible, open Edge’s Extensions menu and turn on Show in toolbar for the extension. The publisher’s pinning instructions date to 2023, so menu appearance may vary in newer Edge releases.

Take a full-page screenshot
- Open the page you want to capture.
- Open Awesome Screenshot.
- Choose Capture, then Full Page.
The publisher’s full-page guide explicitly includes the Edge Add-on and describes this as the way to capture or scroll through an entire page. See the full-page capture instructions.
What works—and what is not established
- The native Edge Add-on is a supported installation route. Awesome Screenshot’s publisher recommends it.
- Full-page capture is documented for the Edge Add-on. Follow the Capture → Full Page flow.
- Do not assume feature parity between Edge options. The publisher states that the Edge Add-on and Chrome extension for Edge differ in version and functionality; it does not publish a definitive matrix of those differences.
- Check compatibility in your own Edge environment. The Edge Add-ons listing has displayed an “incompatible with your browser version” warning, but no stable minimum version is established. Treat a warning as environment-specific, not proof of a universal supported-version boundary.
- Chrome Store feature descriptions apply to that listing. Its listed capture, recording, annotation, and sharing features do not establish that every feature is present in the Edge Add-on.
Choose the right installation option

If the Edge Add-ons listing reports a compatibility issue, check it directly in the Edge profile you use. The available listing information does not establish a dependable minimum Edge version.

Control what happens after a screenshot
Automatic local screenshot downloads are off by default in the publisher’s Chrome and Edge extensions. When enabled in Options, screenshots save automatically and Edge may ask you to allow download management. When disabled, the post-capture interface offers Download, Copy, PDF, and Print choices. See the publisher’s auto-download setting instructions.
Free account limits are separate from Edge compatibility
The publisher says Awesome Screenshot can be used for free, with limits on advanced annotation and recording features and on editing or download durations. Its May 15, 2026 help page says Free or Basic cloud accounts can keep 20 recordings total—not 20 per month—and can download or edit eligible recordings up to one hour. Those are account-plan limits, not evidence that the extension is incompatible with Edge. Verify current entitlements in the publisher’s plan information because they can change.

Troubleshoot an extension that will not work
- Update Edge and Awesome Screenshot. An outdated browser or add-on can cause failures.
- Restart Edge after updating, then try the capture again.
- Disable and re-enable the extension. This can restore a stalled add-on.
- Reinstall it from the store you chose if the problem persists.
- Check for extension conflicts. Test a fresh Edge profile with only Awesome Screenshot enabled to see whether another add-on or profile setting is involved.
- Recheck the store listing if Edge reports that the extension is incompatible with the browser version. The available listing does not establish a universal version cutoff.
The publisher’s extension troubleshooting guide also lists its desktop apps, website recorder, or an extension in another browser as alternatives if the browser add-on remains unusable.
