Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteBrowserless does not publish a separate price per screenshot endpoint call. Screenshot requests use the same Cloud unit balance as its other browser services: browser time is rounded up in 30-second increments, while proxy traffic and successful CAPTCHA solves can add units. The official pricing page, checked October 3, 2026, lists Free at $0 per month and paid plans at $25, $140, and $350 per month when billed annually; it does not establish the month-to-month prices.
Browserless plan prices and allowances
These are the prices and monthly allowances shown on Browserless’s official pricing page as checked October 3, 2026. Paid amounts are annual-billed display prices, not verified month-to-month rates. The page offers a monthly billing option, but the monthly prices were not stated in the reviewed material; check the live page before choosing a plan.
| Plan | Displayed monthly price | Monthly units | Concurrent browsers | Overage rate |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | 1,000 | Up to 2 | Not stated on the pricing page |
| Prototyping | $25, billed annually | 20,000 | Up to 10 | $0.0020 per unit |
| Starter | $140, billed annually | 180,000 | Up to 40 | $0.0017 per unit |
| Scale | $350, billed annually | 500,000 | Up to 100 | $0.0015 per unit |
| Enterprise | Custom | Not stated | Not stated | Not stated |
The pricing page also lists plan-specific session time caps, support and persistence features. Their exact values are not included here, so compare the live plan details if those limits affect your workload. Enterprise is described as offering private deployment or licensed self-hosting options.
How a screenshot request consumes units
Browserless meters REST endpoints, BaaS connections and BrowserQL from one shared unit balance; it does not document a special per-call tariff for /screenshot. One unit covers up to 30 seconds of browser connection time, and partial intervals round up. A 31-second or 45-second session therefore uses two browser-time units. An idle browser session still consumes time, so close it as soon as the work is complete.

- CRISP CLARITY: This 23.8″ Philips V line monitor delivers crisp Full HD 1920x1080 visuals. Enjoy movies, shows and videos with remarkable detail
- INCREDIBLE CONTRAST: The VA panel produces brighter whites and deeper blacks. You get true-to-life images and more gradients with 16.7 million colors
- THE PERFECT VIEW: The 178/178 degree extra wide viewing angle prevents the shifting of colors when viewed from an offset angle, so you always get consistent colors
- WORK SEAMLESSLY: This sleek monitor is virtually bezel-free on three sides, so the screen looks even bigger for the viewer. This minimalistic design also allows for seamless multi-monitor setups that enhance your workflow and boost productivity
- A BETTER READING EXPERIENCE: For busy office workers, EasyRead mode provides a more paper-like experience for when viewing lengthy documents
A screenshot completed in under 30 seconds costs one browser-time unit before any proxy or CAPTCHA charges. A longer capture costs more according to its total session time—not simply because it produces one image.
Extra metered usage
- Residential proxy traffic: 6 units per MB.
- Datacenter proxy traffic: 2 units per MB.
- Successful CAPTCHA solve: 10 units. Unsuccessful CAPTCHA attempts are not charged.
Proxy usage is added to browser-time usage. Browserless’s example is a 30-second session transferring 2 MB over a residential proxy: 1 time unit plus 12 proxy units, or 13 units total.

Estimate your monthly screenshot cost
A reliable estimate needs workload assumptions; there is no well-supported universal dollar figure per screenshot. For a rough model, calculate browser-time units per run by rounding the session duration up to the next 30-second interval. Then add proxy units for expected traffic and 10 units for each successful CAPTCHA solve. Multiply by your monthly run volume to estimate total units, then compare that total with the plan allowance and applicable overage rate.
- Measure representative end-to-end browser session durations, including navigation and waits.
- Estimate monthly captures and peak concurrency separately; a plan’s unit allowance does not replace its concurrent-browser limit or session time cap.
- If using built-in proxies, estimate traffic by proxy type and apply its per-MB unit rate.
- Include successful CAPTCHA solves in the unit estimate; do not count unsuccessful attempts as billed solves.
- Compare projected usage with plan units and overage rates, and confirm whether the displayed annual-billed price or a live monthly-billing price fits your budget.
For example, a capture taking 45 seconds uses two browser-time units before extras. If it also transfers 2 MB through a residential proxy, that adds 12 units, for 14 units total before any successful CAPTCHA solve. This is a unit calculation, not a dollar-per-image quote: the plan, overage exposure and monthly billing cadence determine the charge.

What the screenshot API supports—and what it cannot guarantee
Browserless’s current REST screenshot API uses POST /screenshot, authenticated with an API token from the account dashboard. It accepts a URL or HTML and can return PNG, JPEG or WebP. Documented options include full-page capture, viewport settings, quality, clipping, selector-based capture, waits, and script or style injection. The scrollPage: true option can trigger lazy-loaded content before a full-page capture. See the Browserless screenshot API documentation for request details.
Capture success is separate from unit cost. Browserless warns that blocked sites may return a blank capture, CAPTCHA page or access-denied page. Its separate /unblock API addresses bot detection, but the screenshot endpoint or a plan does not guarantee that every protected site will render successfully.

Choosing a plan for automation
- Allowance and overage: Match expected monthly units to the included balance and compare the applicable overage rate.
- Session duration: Slow pages, long waits and idle browser connections can increase time units.
- Concurrency and time caps: Check peak simultaneous jobs and plan-specific session limits, not just monthly volume.
- Proxy and CAPTCHA needs: Residential and datacenter proxy traffic have different unit rates; successful CAPTCHA solves also consume units.
- Managed service versus self-hosting: Consider whether managed infrastructure, persistence, logs and support justify the plan compared with operating browsers yourself.
Or skip the browser setup
If you mainly need screenshots rather than a browser automation stack, ScreenshotNeo is a screenshot API and MCP server. One GET request can return an image or PDF. Its clean-shot steps can accept cookie/consent banners and remove 60+ known consent platforms, newsletter popups and chat widgets; each step can be turned off. Bot checks, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads and cache hits are not billed, and responses identify the page verdict and billing status. Its MCP server provides take_screenshot, get_page_info and capture_pdf for Claude, Cursor and other MCP clients.
