For project documentation, also decide where the capture will live, whether notes or tags matter, and whether preserving a URL and capture date is important. A capture that cannot be found again is a weak project record.

GoFullPage: capture a page as visual evidence
The Chrome Web Store listing describes GoFullPage as a full-page screen capture extension with an editor and PDF export options. Its changelog records version 8.9 dated 2026-09-24, including a fix for a new URL requirement in Chromium 153 and improved dialogs; that listing entry is not a guarantee that every site or browser setup will work flawlessly. It can suit design references, requirements snapshots, and review notes when the visual appearance matters. GoFullPage’s FAQ says the extension cannot access PDF documents to scroll or capture their document content, and that some sites use custom JavaScript scrolling that can defeat capture. FireShot: capture and annotate in several formats
FireShot’s Chrome listing describes full-page, scrolling-area, and multiple-tab capture; PDF output that can include direct links or searchable text; image formats; and editing such as cropping, adding text or arrows, and blurring. The listing says screenshots are stored locally. Treat that as a statement about the listed workflow, not a blanket privacy claim for every optional export path; check the current listing and privacy details for the workflow you use. SingleFile: keep a page and resources together
SingleFile saves a complete page as one HTML file and lists support for resources including CSS, images, fonts, and frames. Its Chrome listing also describes selected-content and frame capture, link options, batch processing of tabs, and an annotate-and-save option for highlights, notes, and removing content. Configurable destinations listed include Google Drive, Dropbox, GitHub, and WebDAV. A single-file archive is convenient to move and store, but the listing does not establish perfect fidelity on every website; open and inspect important saved pages. Notion Web Clipper: build a project reference database
Notion’s Web Clipper saves a page to a selected workspace page or database. The help page says a URL property is automatically added when clipping into a database; Notion’s product page describes adding notes, tags, assignments, and other properties. Official Notion pages differ on desktop Firefox availability: the help page lists desktop Chrome and Safari, while the product page also lists Firefox. Check the current official browser-store listing for your browser rather than assuming support from one page alone.

Evernote Web Clipper: organize article and screenshot clips
Evernote’s quick-start guide describes Article, Simplified Article, and Screenshot clip types, as well as capturing images, selected text, emails, and web pages. It also describes saving into Evernote with a notebook, tag, or comment. This can fit teams that already use Evernote to file and annotate research or project references. How to choose for a team
- Set the evidence requirement. Choose an image or PDF when reviewers need to see layout and appearance; choose SingleFile when a portable HTML copy with page resources is useful; choose a clipper when the material belongs in a maintained workspace.
- Pick the destination before the extension. Use a project database, notebook, or shared file location your team already searches. Decide who will own naming, tags, and access.
- Keep provenance with the capture. Save the source URL and capture date when a page may change or the record may need verification. Notion documents automatic URL capture for database clips; for other workflows, ensure the URL and date are recorded in a note or filename.
- Test on representative pages. Try pages with long scrolling, sticky navigation, dynamic content, consent dialogs, and embedded documents. Inspect the output rather than assuming that a successful download captured all relevant content.
- Check availability and permissions in the target browser. Store listings change, and official vendor pages can differ. Review current permissions and privacy disclosures before capturing confidential project material.
Browser availability and reliability caveats
Browser support is not static. GoFullPage’s site announced its official Firefox Add-ons store version on 2026-09-07; check the current store listing before installing. GoFullPage’s site. Full-page capture is not equivalent to a guaranteed faithful archive. For example, GoFullPage identifies PDF document access and custom JavaScript scrolling as limitations. More generally, treat screenshots as records of what the capture workflow rendered, and HTML saves as an attempt to package page resources; verify any capture that will serve as formal project evidence.
