Streamlabs Console is a browser-based way to add Streamlabs overlays, alerts, and widgets to an Xbox Twitch broadcast without a PC or capture card. Set it up in a browser, then start the broadcast from Xbox. Streamlabs’ documented Console setup supports Xbox; its FAQ does not list PlayStation or Switch support.
Before you start: compatibility and equipment
Supported console and destination
Streamlabs’ Console FAQ describes the product as an Xbox workflow and explains setup for Twitch. It does not identify PlayStation or Nintendo Switch as supported Console platforms. A separate Streamlabs guide, updated July 8, 2026, describes Xbox multistreaming to Twitch, YouTube, Kick, and TikTok; that is a distinct capability, not evidence that the Console FAQ’s setup steps apply to every destination.
What you need
- An Xbox and a Twitch account.
- A browser on a mobile device, desktop, or laptop to configure Streamlabs Console.
- For audio, a headset with an integrated microphone connected directly to the Xbox controller. The FAQ does not describe a separate external microphone as currently supported.
- A webcam is optional. Streamlabs says you can connect a USB webcam to Xbox or use a mobile device as a webcam.
A PC and capture card are not required for this Console workflow. They may be relevant to a different, PC-based streaming setup, but are not prerequisites here.
How to set up Streamlabs Console on Xbox
- Connect Twitch in a browser. Open Streamlabs Console and connect your Twitch account. Streamlabs says this setup can be done from a mobile device, desktop computer, or laptop.
- Customize your broadcast. Add overlays and configure widgets before going live. Streamlabs says alert and widget settings are managed from the Widgets dashboard in your Streamlabs account. Themes can apply a coordinated design to alerts, Chat Box, and recent events.
- Start your game on Xbox. Open the Xbox button menu and navigate to Capture & Share > Live streaming.
- Choose Streamlabs as the destination. Sign into Twitch using the Xbox options shown, open More options, and select Streamlabs. Set the available audio, resolution, overlay, and stream name options, then choose Go Live now.
- Return to the game and manage scenes. Streamlabs says Console scenes can then be controlled through Streamlabs Console. To end the broadcast, open Xbox Live streaming and select Stop live stream.
Xbox menu labels and availability can change. In an update dated June 13, 2026, Streamlabs says Xbox cloud broadcasting must be enabled for this workflow.

Resolution and bitrate
Streamlabs’ getting-started guide, last updated December 12, 2025, lists 1080p30 and 720p30 as supported outputs and recommends a bitrate of 3500 in the Twitch app. These are Streamlabs’ published guidance, not independently tested settings. Choose among the available options in the Xbox flow and follow the current on-screen guidance if it differs.
What Streamlabs Console adds
- Overlays and alerts: Personalized Streamlabs elements appear in the Twitch broadcast.
- Widgets: The FAQ names Chat Box, Event List, and Stream Labels.
- Scenes: Multiple scenes are supported. Streamlabs says default artwork is available for Starting Soon, Be Right Back, and Stream Ending Soon, and custom images can be uploaded.
- Auto Live: When enabled, the stream starts when you press Go Live in the Twitch app. When disabled, start the stream manually from Streamlabs Console.
- Webcam options: Use a USB webcam connected to Xbox or a mobile device as a webcam.
If Streamlabs is missing or setup fails
Streamlabs’ published troubleshooting guidance is limited, so start with the checks it explicitly documents rather than assuming an error-specific fix.

- 4K60 Capture: Record in cinematic quality with crisp detail and vivid colors
- HFR Support: Play and capture in 1440p120 or 1080p240
- HDR10 Support: Capture brilliant HDR content with tone mapping on Windows
- Cross-Platform Compatible: Works with PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch 2, and more
- Analog Audio In: Capture in-game chat or commentary with 3.5mm input
- Streamlabs is not available as a destination: Confirm Xbox cloud broadcasting is enabled, then return to Capture & Share > Live streaming and check More options for Streamlabs. The June 13, 2026 update also advises updating Xbox.
- Twitch sign-in or account connection does not complete: Confirm the Twitch account is connected in Streamlabs Console and follow the sign-in options presented by Xbox. If it still fails, contact Streamlabs Support; the available guidance does not establish a universal account-authentication fix.
- Audio is not coming through as expected: Check that the headset’s integrated microphone is plugged directly into the Xbox controller. The cited FAQ does not establish support for a separate external mic.
- The broadcast starts without the expected scene or widget: Check the widget and alert settings in the Streamlabs account’s Widgets dashboard, and verify whether Auto Live is enabled. Streamlabs says themes can apply design to alerts, Chat Box, and recent events.
- You are using PlayStation or Switch: Streamlabs Console is not identified as a supported route for those platforms in its FAQ. Streamlabs’ comparison says PlayStation users may use the built-in Broadcast feature or streaming software with a capture card. Its older console guide characterizes native apps as simpler and lower-cost but more limited in overlays and alerts; PC software with a capture device offers Streamlabs Desktop overlays and widgets at the cost of additional hardware and setup.
Plans and current terms
Streamlabs’ FAQ dated September 5, 2025 lists a seven-day free trial and states that Console is included with Streamlabs Ultra. The same FAQ lists $11 USD monthly or $79.99 USD annually. These are dated Streamlabs statements, not a guarantee of current checkout terms; check the offer and price displayed before subscribing.
Or let it run in the cloud
Streamlabs Console is for adding Streamlabs elements to an Xbox game broadcast. If your goal instead is to keep uploaded video looping as a YouTube live stream, StreamNeo is a separate option: upload the video, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. It does not broadcast a live camera or replace the Xbox-to-Twitch Console workflow.
