अक्सर Selenium का screenshot blank इसलिए आता है क्योंकि navigation पूरा हो चुका होता है, लेकिन JavaScript से बनने वाला असली content अभी तैयार या दिखाई नहीं दिया होता। Screenshot से पहले उस खास page element के visible होने तक explicit wait करें; केवल document.readyState == "complete" पर भरोसा न करें।
पहले पता करें कि browser किस स्थिति को capture कर रहा है
- URL और title जाँचें: navigation के बाद current URL और page title देखें। Redirect, login wall या browser error page खुला हो तो screenshot उसी स्थिति को दर्ज कर सकता है।
- मुख्य DOM content देखें: जिस मुख्य container या heading को screenshot में देखना है, वह DOM में मौजूद है और दिखाई दे रहा है या नहीं, जाँचें।
- Render होने का इंतज़ार करें: नीचे दिए गए explicit wait को उस वास्तविक content से जोड़ें जिसे capture करना है।
- इसके बाद screenshot लें: Selenium का screenshot मौजूदा browser window की उस क्षण की स्थिति दर्ज करता है।
अगर इन चरणों के बाद भी screenshot खाली हो, तो browser console errors, navigation और redirects, network/resource failures, headless बनाम visible session, browser और driver versions, तथा CI/container runtime को अलग-अलग जाँचें। ये जाँचने योग्य संभावनाएँ हैं, किसी एक निश्चित कारण का प्रमाण नहीं।
क्यों readyState अकेला पर्याप्त नहीं
Selenium navigation command page-load strategy के अनुसार browser की ready state तक प्रतीक्षा करती है। Default normal strategy में यह complete है। लेकिन यह HTML में परिभाषित assets की loading स्थिति बताता है; JavaScript इसके बाद भी page बदल सकता है या मुख्य content दिखा सकता है। Selenium की Waiting Strategies इसी तरह के timing race को flaky browser tests का एक प्रमुख कारण बताती हैं।
complete के बाद भी app तैयार होने की गारंटी नहीं होती। SPA में API response, client-side rendering या किसी खास widget के बनने का इंतज़ार करना पड़ सकता है। इसलिए wait उस element या condition पर लगाएँ जो आपके page के लिए capture-ready होने का अर्थ बताती हो।

Python में explicit wait लगाकर screenshot लें
नीचे का उदाहरण Selenium Python binding के साथ है। https://example.com और main को अपने target URL और उस page के वास्तविक मुख्य content selector से बदलें। Selenium 4 में उपलब्ध WebDriverWait तथा expected condition का उपयोग किया गया है।
- WebDriver शुरू करके target page खोलें।
- मुख्य content दिखाई देने तक सीमित समय के लिए explicit wait करें।
- Condition पूरी होने पर वर्तमान window का PNG screenshot save करें।
driver को अपने चुने हुए browser driver से initialize करें; browser/driver setup आपके operating system और project पर निर्भर है।

driver.quit()यह wait अधिकतम 20 सेकंड तक condition जाँचता है; element पहले visible हो जाए तो आगे बढ़ता है। Selector ऐसा चुनें जो केवल shell या खाली placeholder नहीं, बल्कि capture करने योग्य content का संकेत दे। यदि condition timeout हो, तो screenshot लेने के बजाय timeout को संभालें और URL, selector तथा page state की जाँच करें।
Page-load strategies क्या बदलती हैं—और क्या नहीं
Selenium browser options में उपलब्ध strategies navigation के लौटने का समय बदलती हैं, लेकिन dynamic content के तैयार होने की गारंटी नहीं देतीं। Selenium की Browser Options documentation के अनुसार:

Strategy बदलने से race condition अपने आप हल नहीं होती। खासकर dynamic page पर screenshot से पहले वही explicit condition रखें जिसकी आपको वास्तव में जरूरत है।
Lazy-loaded content के लिए viewport जाँचें
कुछ pages images या अन्य content तभी load करते हैं जब वे viewport में दिखाई देने लगते हैं। यदि screenshot में अपेक्षित हिस्सा नीचे है, तो जाँचें कि page उसे viewport में लाने पर load करता है या नहीं; फिर उसी content के उपलब्ध या visible होने का इंतज़ार करें। हर page पर scroll करना सार्वभौमिक समाधान नहीं है। Google Search Central की Fix Lazy-Loaded Website Content guidance कहती है कि relevant content viewport में visible होने पर load होना चाहिए।

Fixed sleep के बजाय condition-based wait चुनें
एक तय अवधि की sleep कभी कम पड़ सकती है और कभी page तैयार होने के बाद भी बेवजह प्रतीक्षा करा सकती है। Explicit wait condition को बार-बार जाँचता है और condition सही होते ही आगे बढ़ता है; सीमा तक सही न होने पर timeout देता है। Selenium यह भी चेतावनी देता है: “Warning: Do not mix implicit and explicit waits.” दोनों तरह के waits मिलाने से कुल timing अप्रत्याशित हो सकती है।
