YouTube’s playlist Loop control repeats videos for an individual viewer; it does not create a looping live broadcast. StreamShark’s separate Live Scheduler can play a lineup of its hosted Video on Demand (VoD) files as a live schedule and loop that schedule 24/7. Its documented output is HLS and DASH feed links, but the available StreamShark and YouTube guides do not establish how to connect those feeds to YouTube Live. Confirm the supported ingest or relay method with StreamShark before publishing.
What “loop a playlist on YouTube Live” means
| Option | What repeats or plays | Where it operates | What it does |
|---|---|---|---|
| YouTube playlist Loop | An existing YouTube playlist | YouTube player | Repeats playback for the viewer; it does not create a live broadcast. YouTube documents the control for desktop, mobile, TV, and console playback. YouTube: Loop videos or playlists |
| StreamShark Live Scheduler | A lineup of StreamShark VoD files | StreamShark hosted schedule | Supports scheduled or manual live playout, a 24/7 loop option, and HLS/DASH feed links. The cited guide does not establish YouTube delivery compatibility. StreamShark Support: How to create a Live Schedule |
These are separate workflows. If you only want a viewer to repeat an existing YouTube playlist, use YouTube’s player Loop control. If you want to schedule hosted videos as live content, use StreamShark Live Scheduler; do not assume that its feed links can be entered directly into YouTube Live.
Requirements for StreamShark Live Scheduler
- The StreamShark support guide says Live Scheduler is available on subscription plans with a Dedicated Server attached. Contact your StreamShark sales representative or account manager about access and trial availability.
- Your source videos must be StreamShark VoD assets, and they must be active to be used in a Live Schedule.
- For new uploads, select the Live Scheduler HD encoding profile. For existing assets, change the profile in the asset settings as described in the Live Schedule guide.
Create and loop a StreamShark Live Schedule
- Check account access. Confirm that your subscription has a Dedicated Server attached and that Live Scheduler is enabled. Ask your account manager if you are unsure.
- Prepare eligible VoD files. Upload new source videos using the Live Scheduler HD encoding profile, or update the profile for existing assets. Make sure each video is active.
- Create the schedule. In StreamShark, create a Live Schedule and choose a one-off schedule, a recurring schedule, or a manual start, according to when you want playback to begin.
- Enable the loop. Turn on “Loop Content” for a schedule intended to continue as a 24/7 broadcast.
- Add and order videos. Add the eligible VoD items to the schedule and arrange them in the sequence you want viewers to see.
- Start playback. Select “Go Live Now” to start manually, or let the schedule begin at its configured start time. With “Loop Content” enabled, the lineup repeats until the broadcast is manually stopped.
- Retrieve the schedule feeds. Open the schedule’s Links tab and copy its HLS and DASH feed URLs. Treat these as StreamShark schedule outputs—not as confirmed YouTube ingest URLs.
Confirm how to deliver the schedule to YouTube
YouTube’s encoder setup uses YouTube’s Live server URL and stream key in an encoder. StreamShark’s cited Live Scheduler guide describes HLS and DASH feed links, but it does not explain whether YouTube can ingest those links directly or which relay or encoder configuration is supported. The two sets of instructions are not enough to establish a working connection.
- Ask StreamShark whether your account’s Live Scheduler feed can be sent to YouTube Live and what supported encoder, relay, or integration is required.
- Ask for the exact procedure for entering YouTube’s server URL and stream key in that supported setup.
- Test the complete path before announcing the broadcast. Confirm that the intended video appears in YouTube Live and that playback continues through a schedule loop.
YouTube’s encoder setup instructions are at YouTube Help: Set up your encoder for live streaming. Do not substitute a StreamShark HLS or DASH URL for YouTube’s server URL unless StreamShark confirms that this is supported for your configuration.

Do not confuse Live Scheduler with StreamShark Channel playlists
StreamShark Channel playlists organize content displayed in a channel. The StreamShark guide describes features such as pinned content, automatic additions, tags, and playback order; it does not describe Channel playlists as YouTube Live broadcasts. For scheduled live playout, use the Live Scheduler workflow instead. See StreamShark Support: How to create a Channel Playlist.
Troubleshooting and checks before going live
- Live Scheduler is missing: Check whether your subscription has a Dedicated Server attached, then contact your StreamShark representative or account manager about access.
- A video cannot be added: Verify it is an active VoD asset and uses the Live Scheduler HD encoding profile.
- The schedule stops at the end of its lineup: Check that “Loop Content” is enabled. The documented behavior is to repeat the lineup until someone manually stops the broadcast.
- You have feed URLs but no YouTube picture: HLS/DASH feed availability alone does not confirm YouTube ingest compatibility. Ask StreamShark for the supported relay or encoder process rather than guessing at a destination setting.
- YouTube rejects or does not receive the stream: Verify the YouTube Live server URL and stream key in the encoder or relay StreamShark confirms as supported. YouTube’s encoder guide explains its destination credentials.
Copyright and channel-policy checks
Before scheduling videos, confirm that you have the rights needed to broadcast every item, including music, footage, and other third-party material. A video being available as a VoD asset does not by itself establish that you may rebroadcast it. Also review YouTube’s current live-streaming and monetization policies for your channel and content; looping material is not a substitute for meeting those rules. Use this copyright safety checklist as a preflight aid.
