Why Does XSplit Broadcaster Stop Looping Videos on YouTube?

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

First identify what is supposed to be looping: a local video file in XSplit, a YouTube webpage captured by XSplit, or a YouTube Live broadcast being watched in a browser. XSplit handles local video and webpage sources differently, and the available official documentation does not confirm one specific defect that explains every “stops looping” report. For a local clip, check its source playback properties; for a repeating sequence, try Video Playlist. If the source keeps playing in XSplit but the YouTube broadcast does not, investigate the source and broadcast output separately.

Identify which video is stopping

“Looping videos on YouTube” can describe three different situations. The first two are sources inside XSplit; the third is playback on YouTube itself. XSplit’s documentation covers its local media and webpage sources, but does not establish why an ordinary YouTube viewer’s replay would stop.

  • Local file: A video file is added to an XSplit scene as a Video source. Its playback controls are in that source’s properties.
  • YouTube webpage: A Webpage source renders a page inside XSplit. This is distinct from a local Video File source.
  • Live broadcast: XSplit sends a scene to YouTube Live. The media source determines whether a clip repeats; the broadcast output is a separate part of the setup.

XSplit’s source documentation lists Video File and Webpage as distinct source types, alongside Video Playlist and Media Slideshow (Sources Menu – Introduction; updated November 8, 2022).

If a local video file stops in XSplit

  1. In XSplit Broadcaster, locate the Video source in the scene and right-click it to open its properties.
  2. Confirm that the source points to the intended file, then inspect the available playback controls and loop setting. XSplit documents those controls in the Video source properties (Image, Video, and Audio Source; updated November 8, 2022).
  3. If you need several clips to play continuously, try a Video Playlist source rather than relying on separate single-file sources. XSplit describes Video Playlist as supporting continuous playback and other playback options (Sources Menu – Introduction).
  4. For a presentation mixing video and pictures, consider Media Slideshow. XSplit’s product page says it can loop multiple images or videos; that feature description is not a guarantee about every source type or webpage (XSplit Broadcaster).

XSplit lists MP4, FLV, and WEBM among supported video formats. For troubleshooting, note the file format, XSplit version, whether one file or all files stop, and whether playback stops at the same point each time. Those details help distinguish a file-specific issue from a source or application setting.

Elebase USB to USB C Adapter for iPhone 18 Pro Max,USBC Car Charger Adapter

  • 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.

If XSplit is capturing a YouTube webpage

  1. Check the source type in the scene. A YouTube page should be treated as a Webpage source, not as a local Video File source.
  2. If Browser Source Special Optimization is enabled, test with it disabled and compare the result. XSplit warns that this optimization may not work perfectly on some systems and can result in a black or empty webpage. That warning does not identify it as the cause of a video stopping its loop (XSplit Settings).
  3. As a diagnostic, compare the same clip in a local Video File source, if you have a copy and are permitted to use it. This can help determine whether the problem is limited to webpage playback; it is a troubleshooting suggestion, not an officially documented fix.

Do not assume that a YouTube policy, browser restriction, or specific XSplit defect is responsible without evidence from the actual setup. The official material cited here does not establish any of those as the cause of this symptom.

If the source plays in XSplit but the YouTube stream does not

Watch the source preview and the broadcast as separate checkpoints. If the preview stops, focus on the source and its playback settings. If the preview continues while the YouTube broadcast freezes or ends, check the broadcast output and connection instead of changing source loop controls first. This separation follows XSplit’s distinction between scene sources and broadcast configuration; it is a troubleshooting approach, not a confirmed diagnosis of a particular failure.

XSplit’s YouTube Live encoder guide addresses configuring an encoder broadcast. It does not establish that YouTube Live controls whether an XSplit media source loops.

Processing settings: test carefully, don’t assume a fix

XSplit documents video processing options and a legacy Media Foundation engine for supported local formats including MP4, WMV, AVI, and ASF. These are possible controlled troubleshooting variables, not a guaranteed remedy. If you test a setting, change one thing at a time and record the original value so you can revert it. Use the XSplit Settings documentation for the relevant controls.

A practical troubleshooting checklist

  • Is the source a local Video File, Webpage, Video Playlist, or Media Slideshow?
  • Does it stop in XSplit’s preview, or only in the YouTube broadcast?
  • Does the issue occur with one clip or every clip? Record the file format and XSplit version.
  • For webpage capture, does disabling Browser Source Special Optimization change the behavior?
  • After each test, restore settings that did not help; avoid changing several variables at once.

The question does not specify the XSplit version, Windows build, media source, file format, or exact reproduction steps. Without those details, there is no supported single root-cause diagnosis.
