Yes. YouTube allows up to 10 active streams on one channel, and up to three active streams per stream key. Both limits apply at once. To run separate feeds at the same time, create separate stream events in YouTube Studio and send each event’s stream URL and key from an encoder. A horizontal and vertical version of one broadcast is a different feature: YouTube describes those formats as sharing one stream URL and chat.
How many live streams can one YouTube channel run?
YouTube Help sets two simultaneous limits: a channel can have up to 10 active streams, and each stream key can have up to three active streams. You must stay within both limits, so reaching either one prevents you from starting another stream. These are active-stream limits, not a guarantee that a particular channel or encoder can sustain every allowed feed in practice. YouTube Help
How to run separate feeds at the same time
- Confirm live streaming is enabled. A channel must be verified and have no live-stream restriction in the preceding 90 days. If this is the first time the channel is going live, activation can take up to 24 hours. YouTube Help
- Create a separate event for each independent feed. In YouTube Studio, open the Live Control Room and create the stream event you want to broadcast.
- Configure an encoder for each event. YouTube’s encoder workflow uses that event’s stream URL and stream key. Enter the matching URL and key in the software, hardware, or cloud encoder sending that feed. Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder
- Check both stream caps before starting. Count active streams for the whole channel and active streams using each key; remain at or below 10 per channel and three per key.
- Start the encoders and verify each event. Check the preview and Live Control Room status for every event, rather than assuming one successful feed means the others are live.
Multiple independent streams are not the same as dual-format streaming
If your goal is to show the same broadcast in horizontal and vertical layouts, YouTube’s dual-format feature can present both orientations with one shared stream URL and chat. That is not the same setup as creating two separately configured events for two independent feeds. Use separate events when the content itself differs; consider dual-format when one broadcast needs both presentations. YouTube Help
Choose local or cloud encoding
YouTube describes local software or hardware encoding as a way to control the production on your own device; local software encoding uses the computer’s processor. A cloud encoder reduces the processing load on the creator’s computer and can distribute a feed to multiple destinations. Do not assume a 24-hour event becomes one complete archive
YouTube automatically archives streams that are under 12 hours. The cited guidance does not establish that an uninterrupted 24/7 event will be saved as one complete archive. If keeping a recording matters, plan how you will capture or divide the content rather than relying on a single automatic archive. YouTube Help
Continuous streaming does not itself establish monetization eligibility
YouTube’s encoder instructions say that YouTube Partner Program members can monetize live streams. That is conditional on YPP membership; operating a 24/7 stream does not by itself establish eligibility. YouTube Help

Use content you have the right to stream
Confirm you have the necessary rights for every video, audio track, and other material in a looping feed. A 24/7 schedule does not change the need to follow YouTube’s rules or resolve copyright issues. Check the relevant YouTube policies and your rights before broadcasting.

Troubleshooting multiple feeds
- A new stream will not start: check whether the channel already has 10 active streams or the selected key already has three. Stop an unneeded active stream or use an eligible key, then retry.
- The event has no incoming video: verify that the encoder is using the stream URL and key for that specific event, and that the encoder is actually sending.
- The channel cannot go live yet: check verification and live-stream restrictions from the preceding 90 days. For first-time activation, allow up to 24 hours.
- The archive is incomplete or missing: streams under 12 hours are automatically archived, but the cited guidance does not promise one complete archive for a continuous 24-hour event. Keep a separate recording plan if the recording is important.
