To send a 4K 60fps live stream to YouTube from India, set your encoder’s output to 3840×2160 at 60 fps, choose a supported codec and bitrate, then send it to the stream URL and key shown in YouTube Studio. YouTube normally detects the incoming resolution and frame rate automatically; for manual selection, use a custom stream key and enable manual settings. The published encoder requirements are not India-specific.
Set up a 4K 60fps YouTube stream
- In YouTube Studio, select Create → Go Live to open Live Control Room.
- Create a stream or select a scheduled one. In the stream settings, find the stream URL and stream key, then enter them in your encoder. Keep the key private: anyone who has it may be able to send a stream to your channel.
- Leave resolution detection on unless you need to choose it manually. YouTube’s default is to detect the resolution and frame rate arriving from your encoder. For manual resolution selection, create a custom stream key and enable Turn on manual settings in the Stream Resolution area.
- In the encoder, set the video output to 3840×2160 (4K/2160p) and 60 fps. Choose a supported codec and configure bitrate, rate control and keyframes as described below.
- Run a test with representative movement and audio before the event. Check stream health and any messages in Live Control Room while the encoder is sending.
YouTube’s Live Control Room settings guide covers stream URL and key management. Its encoder settings guide explains detection, manual resolution settings and encoding recommendations.
Choose bitrate, codec and keyframe settings
YouTube’s current encoder guide lists these recommended bitrates for 4K/2160p at 60 fps. These are ingestion recommendations, not a promise that every viewer will receive 4K playback.
| Codec | Recommended bitrate | Minimum bitrate |
|---|---|---|
| AV1 or H.265/HEVC | 35 Mbps | 10 Mbps |
| H.264 | 50 Mbps | 14 Mbps |
Use a codec your encoder supports and that works with your production setup. YouTube lists H.264, H.265/HEVC and AV1, and recommends constant bitrate encoding. It also recommends RTMPS for encrypted transport to Google’s servers; RTMP/RTMPS are listed protocols. Keep the encoder’s frame rate at or below 60 fps, and set the keyframe interval to 2 seconds; YouTube says it should not exceed 4 seconds.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.

Check upload capacity and latency trade-offs
Your sustained upload capacity must exceed the outgoing stream bitrate. YouTube recommends leaving about 20% bandwidth headroom, and notes that other devices or users on a shared network can reduce the capacity available to the encoder. Check upload speed rather than download speed, then test the actual stream on the connection and network you will use for the event. YouTube’s streaming tips cover network setup and bandwidth.

Please note that this hub is compatible with MacBook (macOS 12 and newer), Windows 10 and 11, ChromeOS, and laptops equipped with DP Alt Mode and Power Delivery. Note: This device is not compatible with Linux.
- What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (5-in-1, 4K HDMI), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.
For 4K, YouTube requires normal latency. Its low-latency and ultra-low-latency settings do not support 4K, so a 4K stream is not the right choice when the production depends on the shortest possible delay for live audience interaction. See Understand live streaming latency.
What viewers will see—and what India changes
The settings above describe the video your encoder sends to YouTube. YouTube transcodes live streams into multiple playback formats, so a viewer’s available quality depends on their device and connection; configuring 4K60 input does not guarantee every viewer can watch at 4K60.

You do not need a special India-only resolution control or bitrate based on the official guidance cited here. Use the same published YouTube Live settings and verify that your own upload connection can sustain the chosen bitrate. No particular Indian ISP or speed tier is assumed.
Troubleshoot a 4K60 stream
- The stream does not arrive at 4K or 60 fps: Confirm the encoder is actually outputting 3840×2160 at 60 fps. YouTube detects incoming settings by default; if selecting a resolution manually, use a custom stream key and enable Turn on manual settings under Stream Resolution.
- Stream health reports instability or dropped frames: Check sustained upload capacity against the selected codec’s bitrate, preserve about 20% headroom, and reduce competing network use. Test from the same connection and setup planned for the event.
- The encoder rejects the bitrate or output: Check that the encoder supports the chosen 4K60 resolution, frame rate and codec. Use YouTube’s recommended 4K60 bitrate for that codec rather than assuming the H.264 and AV1/H.265 values are interchangeable.
- Viewers cannot select 4K or see a lower resolution: YouTube creates multiple output formats, and playback quality varies with viewer device and network. Confirm the incoming stream first in Live Control Room; a 4K encoder input alone does not control each viewer’s playback.
- Chat or audience interaction feels delayed: 4K uses normal latency on YouTube. Low and ultra-low latency are not available for 4K, so choose the production priority—4K resolution or reduced latency—before going live.
Or let it run in the cloud
If the goal is a continuous YouTube stream from uploaded video rather than a live camera or interactive production, StreamNeo can loop uploaded recordings or playlists from the cloud. Upload your video or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. Nothing has to stay on at home; the stream runs at the quality uploaded, up to 4K 60fps, at one price per slot. StreamNeo automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly pricing is $9.99 per month. UPI and cards are accepted in India.
