You can schedule a meditation livestream in YouTube Studio, then use Reuse settings to carry forward the previous session’s setup. Studio’s documented workflow schedules individual streams rather than automatically creating a weekly series, so plan to schedule or confirm each session. For automated recurring events, YouTube documents a separate approach through its Live Streaming API.
What “recurring” means on YouTube
In YouTube Studio, scheduling means creating a future livestream for a chosen date and time. You can reuse a previous stream’s settings for the next session, but the documented Studio workflow does not provide an automatic weekly recurrence control. For a manually managed weekly meditation, schedule each occurrence and reuse the appropriate setup.
For programmatic scheduling, YouTube’s Live Streaming API models a recurring event as one reusable liveStream resource bound to multiple scheduled liveBroadcast resources. YouTube describes its common case as having only one event live at a time; if broadcasts may overlap, separate stream resources for different shows or broadcasts are a suitable approach. See YouTube’s explanation of broadcasts and streams and the Live Streaming API reference.
Before you schedule a session
- Check channel eligibility. YouTube says a channel must be verified, must not have had livestreaming restrictions in the previous 90 days, and the creator must be at least 16. See YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance.
- Choose the session format. Decide whether the session is guided or silent, its duration, and what viewers should expect. Make the title and description clear about those details.
- Plan the audio and visuals. YouTube lists microphones among typical encoder hardware. For spoken guidance, choose and test a microphone and keep the opening calm, such as a quiet welcome or holding screen.
- Check music rights. If you plan to use copyright-protected music, coordinate with the relevant label or distributor before broadcasting. A track being available online does not establish that you have livestream rights. See YouTube for Artists’ guidance for music channels.
- Decide how to handle chat. For an uninterrupted or silent practice, choose comment moderation settings before the session.
- Choose a format and time viewers can understand. YouTube’s live documentation describes horizontal and vertical experiences; choose based on the meditation’s visuals and intended audience, and check the current Studio options. Include a clear time zone in your own publishing checklist so viewers know when to join.
Schedule each session in YouTube Studio
- Open Live Control Room. In YouTube Studio, select Create → Go Live.
- Start a scheduled stream. Open Manage → Schedule stream.
- Choose how to set it up. Select Reuse settings to carry forward the previous stream’s metadata, settings, and stream key, or choose Create new. Reuse settings when the earlier setup suits the session; still review every copied field.
- Set this session’s details. Update the title, description, date and time, privacy, thumbnail, and other editable details as needed. Make the title and description specific about whether the session is guided or silent, beginner-friendly, and its duration.
- Consider a trailer only if eligible. YouTube says scheduled streams can have trailers, but this feature requires more than 1,000 subscribers and no Community Guidelines strikes. A short invitation video can explain the practice and set expectations.
- Publish the scheduled event and share its watch-page URL. YouTube says scheduled streams may appear as upcoming in subscribers’ feeds, where viewers can select Notify me.

Go live at the scheduled time
- Configure your encoder with YouTube’s stream URL and stream key.
- Start sending the feed from your encoder.
- In Live Control Room, wait for the preview to appear. Check the audio and visuals before you begin.
- Click Go live in Live Control Room to start the broadcast.
- When the session is over, stop the encoder and end the stream.
YouTube says livestreams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Check your channel’s archive afterward if you want the session available to viewers who missed it. The sequence above follows YouTube’s encoder workflow.
Reuse settings without creating avoidable problems
Reusing a stream key can simplify the setup for a series, but YouTube says stream keys are like a password and address. Do not post or share one. If it is exposed, reset it in Live Control Room and update the encoder. Before each session, confirm that the intended scheduled broadcast is selected and that its title, privacy, time, and description are correct.

For a recurring class with no overlapping broadcasts, the API’s reusable-stream model can reduce repeated delivery setup. A developer or production team still needs to implement the API and authorize it for the channel. If two shows could overlap, YouTube describes separate stream resources as a suitable option rather than relying on one shared stream resource.
Which workflow fits your meditation series?
| Workflow | Best fit | Trade-off or check |
|---|---|---|
| YouTube Studio with Reuse settings | A creator scheduling each weekly or occasional session manually | Create or confirm each occurrence; review copied metadata and privacy every time. |
| Live Streaming API | A developer or production team automating many scheduled events | Requires implementation against YouTube’s API resource model and appropriate channel authorization. |
| One reusable stream for separate events | Events at different times that use the same encoder setup | YouTube’s described common recurring case has only one event live at a time. |
| Separate stream resources | Different recurring shows or broadcasts that may overlap | More stream configuration to maintain. |
| Webcam or mobile workflow | A simple direct-to-camera session | Less suited to complex overlays or a controlled prerecorded visual scene. |
| Encoder workflow | A session needing an external microphone, overlays, or more production control | Requires configuring and operating streaming software or hardware. |
Or let it run in the cloud
If your meditation channel uses uploaded recordings rather than a live camera session, StreamNeo keeps a YouTube stream running from the cloud: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. Nothing has to stay on at home. It streams your upload as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one price per slot; it automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly service is $9.99 per month. StreamNeo plays uploaded videos; it does not broadcast from a camera. Start your free first day with StreamNeo.
