To keep a 24/7 Kannada songs stream running on YouTube, prepare the channel, clear the music rights and any Content ID allowlisting, then test and monitor a continuous encoder workflow. There is no guaranteed failure-proof setup: YouTube scans live broadcasts for third-party content, and unresolved matches can replace, interrupt or terminate a stream.
Before you start: confirm the channel can go live
YouTube requires a verified channel with no live-stream restriction in the preceding 90 days, and its Help guidance sets a minimum age of 16 for live streaming. Check the channel’s current status and eligibility in YouTube Studio before building the broadcast. See YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance.
For a first live stream, YouTube for Artists advises enabling live streaming at least 24 hours in advance. Treat that as setup lead time, not a promise of continuous service. YouTube for Artists recommends coordinating with a label or distributor when using copyright-protected music.
Clear Kannada music rights before scheduling
Make sure you have the rights needed for every recording in the planned playlist and for the territories where viewers may access it. Kannada-language music is not exempt from YouTube’s copyright enforcement; the relevant rights depend on the songs, recordings, rights holders and territories.

Licensing and Content ID allowlisting are separate practical checks. YouTube says live streams are scanned for matches to third-party content, including another live broadcast. If a match is detected, YouTube may replace the broadcast with a placeholder; if the matched content continues, the stream may be interrupted or terminated. For licensed third-party music, ask the relevant rights holder or distributor to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist. A license alone may not prevent a live interruption if the channel is not allowlisted. Review YouTube’s guidance on live-stream copyright issues.
- List the songs and recordings you intend to play and identify who controls the relevant rights.
- Confirm that your permission covers continuous live use and the territories you plan to serve; do not assume that a song’s public availability on YouTube grants those rights.
- Ask the rights holder or distributor whether your channel must be allowlisted in Content ID, and get the channel added before going live if required.
- Do not treat a test broadcast or a short period without a claim as proof that the full catalog is cleared.
Choose and test a continuous broadcast workflow
Use an encoder when you need a produced show
YouTube describes encoder-based streaming as suitable for overlays and production hardware, and says it is commonly used for concerts. Choose an encoder workflow that fits your source material and production needs; the official guidance does not certify a particular encoder, computer, hosting provider or automatic-restart arrangement. Before committing to an all-day schedule, test the whole lifecycle: start a scheduled broadcast, verify that the audio and playlist continue, check the live control room, and test how your setup behaves if the encoder or connection stops and has to reconnect or restart. Decide who will monitor alerts and respond. A technically stable encoder cannot prevent a copyright interruption.
Understand the broadcast and stream distinction
YouTube’s Live Streaming API represents a broadcast and a stream as separate resources. Its documentation includes a 24/7 scenario where a broadcast continues while distinct broadcast resources are used. That API example is useful when designing automated broadcast management, but it does not guarantee that an audience-facing stream will never disconnect. DASH-specific encoder requirements
If you are implementing YouTube DASH ingestion, rather than using a typical encoder setup, follow the protocol’s specific timing and encoding requirements. Google says to send the MPD and initialization segment within three seconds of the first media segment, update the MPD and initialization information at least every 60 seconds, use closed GOPs, and target a GOP of about two seconds that remains under eight seconds. These are DASH protocol requirements, not universal settings for every streaming workflow. Consult the YouTube DASH ingestion protocol guide.
Decide whether to keep a stream archive
If you choose to archive the live stream, YouTube says Content ID claims on the archived stream are made after the live stream ends. That post-stream process is distinct from live scanning, which can interrupt a broadcast while it is underway. An archive should not be treated as guaranteed to remain available or unclaimed. Monitor the stream and handle interruptions
Keep YouTube Studio’s live control room available during operation so you can check stream status and notices. If YouTube interrupts the stream, check Studio for strikes or other listed issues and follow the resolution steps there. Do not switch to another channel to get around a live-stream restriction: YouTube prohibits using another channel to circumvent one. See YouTube’s live-streaming policy and eligibility guidance.
