Munch the Fox is Ohio’s child-nutrition mascot, but the available accounts do not identify what “PV” stands for or name the food providers at this particular visit. They do establish the broader purpose of Munch’s school appearances: celebrating local foods through events such as menu days, taste tests and garden activities.
Who is Munch the Fox?
An Ohio Department of Agriculture Farm to School newsletter published in 2023 identified Munch the Fox as the official mascot of the Ohio Department of Education Office of Nutrition. It said Munch was available to visit local menu days, taste tests and garden events. The newsletter described a visit-request form at the time; that does not establish whether the same request process is current.
What is confirmed about the PV visit?
The event is described as a visit to PV to celebrate local food providers. However, the available event details do not establish the full name of PV, the visit date, which providers participated, or what foods were featured. Those specifics should not be inferred from accounts of other Ohio schools.
Other Ohio events show how Munch appearances connect to local food
Hugus Fruit Farm apples in Logan-Hocking
Logan-Hocking Local School District reported that Munch visited all seven of its buildings for Ohio Apple Crunch Day on October 12, 2023. The district said the apples served at lunch came from Hugus Fruit Farm in Bremen, Ohio. This was a separate event, not evidence that Hugus supplied food for PV.

Tyler’s Farm lettuce at Wellington
An Ohio Farm to School quarterly newsletter described a taste test planned for March 18, 2025, at Wellington featuring local lettuce from Tyler’s Farm and Munch the Fox. The account described a planned event; it does not confirm that it took place, and it does not identify Tyler’s Farm as a PV provider.
Royalton Farms apples at Horizon Education Centers
The same quarterly newsletter reported that Horizon Education Centers used local apples from Royalton Farms for a Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) snack. This is another local-sourcing example, separate from the PV visit.

A planned Lowellville appearance
A Lowellville Local Schools board agenda listed a Munch visit for January 21, 2025, during elementary lunch periods, with cafeteria staff expected to offer free fruit or vegetable samples. Because the information appeared as a plan in an agenda, it does not independently establish that the visit occurred.

What would clarify the PV story?
A primary announcement from the district, community or event organizer would be needed to establish what PV means, when the visit happened, and which farms or food providers took part. Until those details are confirmed, the other Ohio examples illustrate the kind of farm-to-school activities associated with Munch, but cannot be presented as part of the PV event.
