His 2026 article’s headline claims revenue rose 142% in six years, but it does not disclose a starting figure or calculation. Treat that percentage as the article’s claim, not as independently verified financial performance.
What Uinsure does
Uinsure is a UK-based, cloud-powered insurance technology platform. It connects mortgage intermediaries and lenders with insurers, enabling insurance to be arranged alongside a mortgage application. The company was founded in 2007, according to investor LDC; Companies House lists Uinsure Limited as active and records software development and insurance-related classifications.
The business model puts technology between distribution partners and insurers: intermediaries and lenders can offer insurance during a customer’s mortgage journey, while insurers supply the cover. Schultheiss presents the aim as making insurance simpler to buy for customers, advisers and insurers.
What the 142% figure does—and does not—show
The 142% figure appears in the headline of Schultheiss’s 2026 BusinessCloud article. In its body, he says Uinsure revenue had grown 20% year on year since 2020 to £40 million in 2026. The article gives no starting revenue, accounting basis, or calculation reconciling the six-year headline with the annual-growth statement. Neither figure should be treated as an independently audited result on the evidence presented there.

LDC offers other company-performance figures, but they cover different periods and should remain separate:
| Figure | Source and period | What it establishes |
|---|---|---|
| 27% compound annual revenue growth | LDC’s February 2024 investment announcement; the preceding ten years | LDC’s historical growth claim, not a calculation of the six-year 142% headline. |
| Revenue increased by £5.8 million to £34.4 million | LDC’s portfolio profile, accessed October 2026; since its investment | LDC’s post-investment comparison. The cited profile passage does not define a full accounting comparison period. |
These figures provide context for a reported growth trajectory, but they do not supply the missing baseline or method for the six-year claim. Combining them into one time series would require matching definitions and financial statements.

How management says Uinsure pursued growth
Build commercial and technical capability together
Schultheiss describes the operating approach as “suits, trainers and cool tools”: commercial leaders who understand strategy, regulation and customers; engineers and data scientists who develop the platform; and tools, including AI, intended to reduce repetitive work. He says the workforce expanded from 40 to around 230 people, with roughly half working as engineers and data scientists. These are figures and explanations from his 2026 account.
His stated purpose for internal AI use is not simply to replace a task, but to free staff to spend more time thinking and collaborating on problems. The article does not quantify productivity gains or isolate an effect on revenue.

Automate insurance engagement around the mortgage journey
Uinsure launched Uinsure CX, also styled UinsureCX, in 2023. Schultheiss says it can automate insurance quotes and customer engagement at relevant points in a mortgage journey, including digital purchase. LDC describes the platform as tracking mortgage progress and triggering communications at relevant points in the mortgage cycle. These are company and investor descriptions of capability, not independently benchmarked outcome measures.
Schultheiss cites Uinsure’s Virgin Money integration as an example of delivery speed: he says it went live in four and a half months, compared with a two-year timeline traditionally accepted in financial services. Both the timeline and the comparison are his account; they are not an industry-wide measured benchmark.

Expand distribution through partnerships
The executive article says Uinsure works with the majority of UK mortgage intermediaries and describes relationships across banks, building societies, intermediaries and insurers. It names NatWest Group, Openwork, Primis Mortgage Network, Virgin Money and Lloyds Bank General Insurance.
- NatWest’s home insurance proposition went live in July, according to the article. It uses Insurance Tracker technology to monitor policies and contact customers if a better price or policy becomes available.
- Openwork appointed Uinsure to its panel.
- Primis added Uinsure as a sole-tie option.
- Lloyds Bank General Insurance joined Uinsure’s insurer panel.
The article does not give a year for the July launch in the passage describing it, nor does it quantify revenue attributable to any named partner. The examples show how distribution and integrations feature in management’s account; they do not establish the financial contribution of an individual deal.

What the growth account can support
Schultheiss’s explanation is a strategy narrative, not a breakdown of the reported revenue increase. It identifies several levers—people, software, automation and partnerships—but does not provide a revenue bridge showing what each contributed. LDC separately says growth since its investment reflected strategic partnerships, margin improvements and expansion in core and new channels, and reports revenue increasing by £5.8 million to £34.4 million. That is the investor’s account, not an independently detailed causal analysis.
For readers assessing the headline, the key distinction is between an attributed claim and a verified calculation. The 142% figure is not transparently reproducible from the executive article. LDC’s ten-year CAGR and post-investment comparison are useful context, but their periods and provenance differ, so they cannot validate that headline on their own.
