If neither has a current password, reset it through your email provider. Samsung Email’s support guidance does not document a control for revealing the password already stored in the app.
First, identify which password you need
An “email password” usually means the password for the mailbox itself—such as a Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, or other account connected to Samsung Email. That is different from your Samsung account password. Samsung’s account recovery applies to Samsung services; it does not recover a third-party mailbox login. For Samsung-account access, use Samsung’s account recovery guidance.
Check whether a password manager saved the login
Samsung Email’s support guidance does not describe a way to display its existing stored password. Instead, look in the password manager that may have saved the provider’s sign-in.
Samsung Pass
- Open Samsung Pass on your Galaxy device, using the available menu or feature entry point, and authenticate.
- Inspect saved sign-in information for the email provider or relevant site. Samsung says these entries can include IDs, passwords, and passkeys.
Samsung Pass availability and how it appears on the phone can vary by supported device, country, and configuration; on some devices it may be surfaced through Samsung Wallet. See the Samsung Pass listing for availability information.

Google Password Manager
- Open Google Password Manager on Android or in Chrome, or visit passwords.google.com.
- Search for the email provider and inspect its saved entry. If several Google accounts are signed in on the phone, check the account that may have saved the password.
Google says saved passwords and passkeys can be viewed and managed in Google Password Manager on Android, in Chrome, or at passwords.google.com. Its Password Manager help page explains the available options.
If no saved password works, recover the mailbox with its provider
- Go to the email provider’s official sign-in page and choose its forgotten-password or account-recovery option.
- Complete the provider’s identity checks using recovery methods already connected to the mailbox, such as a recovery email address or phone number.
- Follow the provider’s instructions for signing back into Samsung Email. With two-step verification, the provider may require an app password for an email client rather than the regular account password.
Recovery steps and app-password rules differ by provider and account. Samsung recommends checking provider webmail and notes that two-step verification may require a separate app password. See Samsung’s email troubleshooting guidance and follow the provider’s current instructions.

When the password seems right but Samsung Email still cannot sign in
A login error does not necessarily mean the password is wrong. If you can sign in to webmail but not Samsung Email, check the provider’s current requirements for IMAP or POP access, app passwords, or modern sign-in. Also verify the incoming and outgoing server addresses, ports, and SSL/TLS settings against the provider’s own setup instructions. Samsung lists incorrect settings, two-step verification, network problems, and provider outages as possible causes; its troubleshooting guide covers these checks.
Setup is not identical for every mailbox. Samsung says Gmail, Yahoo, and Microsoft accounts can use automatic setup in Samsung Email, while other accounts may require manual setup. See the Samsung Email app guide; use your provider’s current server details and sign-in requirements.
