The Redmi K50 Pro is a genuine 2022 China-market performance phone, not a global Redmi or POCO model. Its Dimensity 9000 chip, sharp 2K 120Hz AMOLED display, 120W wired charging and optically stabilized 108MP main camera remain compelling. In 2026, however, China-only software, uncertain carrier support, aging hardware and limited warranty coverage matter as much as the specification sheet.

Launch date and historical China price
The Redmi K50 Pro was announced in mainland China on March 17, 2022, with sales beginning March 22. Those prices are historical domestic-China launch prices, not current 2026 retail prices:

Design, ports and everyday hardware
The phone uses a flat display and weighs about 201g. Its fingerprint reader is mounted in the side power button rather than under the screen. You get USB-C, dual-SIM support, stereo speakers and an X-axis linear vibration motor. There is no 3.5mm headphone jack, microSD slot or wireless charging.
NFC availability and radio-band support can depend on the regional version. Confirm the exact model and firmware before buying rather than assuming every imported unit has identical features.
Display: a major strength with a battery trade-off
The 6.67-inch Samsung AMOLED panel runs at 3200 × 1440 resolution and up to 120Hz. It supports Dolby Vision and HDR10+, uses Gorilla Glass Victus and includes environmental color-temperature sensing and DC dimming. Xiaomi also advertised high brightness and factory color accuracy; those are launch specifications, not a guarantee that every used panel will measure identically.
Resolution and refresh rate are separate settings. QHD+ at 120Hz gives the clearest, smoothest interface, but consumes more power than a lower resolution or refresh setting. Some games and applications may not run at both maximum values, so selecting the highest options does not guarantee a 120Hz QHD+ gaming image.

MediaTek’s Dimensity 9000 was a flagship-class 2022 processor. LPDDR5 memory, UFS 3.1 storage and a reported approximately 3,950mm² vapor chamber help it sustain demanding workloads. It remains fast for normal apps and capable of modern games, but it is no longer a current flagship platform in 2026.

Launch material attributed to Xiaomi reported approximately 59 frames per second in Genshin Impact under stated test conditions. That is a manufacturer or launch-context result, not a universal benchmark: graphics settings, room temperature, firmware, battery state and test duration all change results. High-resolution rendering can also reduce frame rates.
Compared with equivalent Snapdragon phones, the MediaTek platform may offer fewer custom-ROM and aftermarket options. China firmware can additionally affect notifications, Google services, banking applications and Android Auto.
Battery and 120W charging
A 5,000mAh battery is paired with Xiaomi’s Surge P1 charging chip and 120W wired charging. Xiaomi advertised a full charge in about 19 minutes under controlled conditions. Real charging time varies with temperature, charger and cable authenticity, battery health, regional equipment and whether the phone is in use. The large battery and efficient 4nm processor support good endurance, but QHD+ resolution at 120Hz can offset part of that advantage. There is no wireless or reverse-wireless charging. On a used phone, battery age may matter more than the original capacity, so request health information and a return period.
Camera system
108MP main camera
The primary camera combines a 108MP sensor with optical image stabilization. OIS helps reduce hand-shake, especially in still photos and some video situations, but megapixel count alone does not determine image quality. Daylight detail, HDR processing, moving-subject capture, night noise, skin tones and white balance depend on Xiaomi’s image processing and the condition of the individual device.

Ultrawide, macro and selfie cameras
The 8MP ultrawide is the useful secondary camera for landscapes and groups, although it is substantially less detailed than the main sensor. The 2MP macro camera is a basic close-up unit, not a substitute for a telephoto lens. The front camera is 20MP. The overall system therefore favors the main camera rather than offering equal quality across all lenses. The confirmed camera configuration is also listed by FoneArena.
Independent testing should be consulted for video stabilization, portrait edges, night photography and whether the dedicated 108MP mode adds useful real-world detail.

The K50 Pro launched with Android 12 and MIUI 13 on China-region firmware. Do not assume a particular Android or HyperOS version in 2026 without checking the actual handset and its update record.
Original China software may include Chinese applications, incomplete translation or different notification behavior. Google Mobile Services may require additional setup rather than being available in the same plug-and-play form as on a global model. Banking, streaming and other DRM-dependent apps can be affected by bootloader state, certification or modified software. Android Auto, Widevine level and OTA updates should be verified before purchase.
Flashing another ROM can introduce bootloader-unlock requirements, data wipes, failed updates and loss of convenient official OTA support. It can also create compatibility problems that were not present on the seller’s original software.

Network compatibility and importing
“5G supported” does not mean universal carrier compatibility. Before ordering, verify:
- Exact model number and firmware region
- LTE and 5G bands used by your carrier
- VoLTE and Wi-Fi calling support
- Whether the carrier accepts uncertified imported devices
- Physical SIM and any eSIM limitations
- IMEI status and the seller’s return process
- Warranty destination and repair arrangements
- Charger plug, voltage and included accessories
A Chinese model may connect to a foreign network while lacking full coverage, carrier aggregation, emergency-call behavior or Wi-Fi-calling features. Ask the seller whether the ROM is official or modified; “global ROM” is not a sufficient description by itself.

The standard K50 is the more sensible choice when endurance and efficiency matter most. Choose the Pro for the faster chipset, much quicker charging and stabilized main camera.
Do not confuse it with other K50-family phones
The Redmi K50 Gaming Edition is a different Snapdragon-powered device with physical gaming triggers, a gaming-focused design and a different display, battery and camera configuration. The Redmi K50 Ultra arrived later with its own hardware. The K50 Pro is also distinct from the Redmi Note 11T Pro and POCO F4 GT, despite marketplace listings often mixing these names.

It can make sense for
- An enthusiast who understands China-ROM setup and can verify carrier bands
- A secondary phone bought substantially below newer officially supported models
- Someone prioritizing a QHD+ 120Hz display and very fast wired charging
- A buyer with a dependable seller, battery information and a meaningful return window
It is usually a poor fit for
- A primary US phone requiring guaranteed carrier, VoLTE or Wi-Fi-calling support
- Users who need long, predictable software updates
- Photographers wanting strong ultrawide and telephoto cameras
- Anyone who needs an official local warranty or effortless Android Auto
- Buyers whose landed cost approaches that of a newer global phone
Compare total ownership cost—not just the listing price—including shipping, taxes, charger, possible ROM work, repairs and the value of local support. Newer global Xiaomi, POCO, Samsung, Google or OnePlus phones may offer slower charging yet deliver better update certainty, warranty coverage and carrier compatibility. A newer used flagship can also be preferable when camera quality and software longevity outweigh 120W charging.

Is the Redmi K50 Pro available globally?
It was launched as a China-market model. Imported units exist, but official regional availability, warranty and software support should not be assumed.
Does it work on US carriers?
Only if the exact model supports your carrier’s bands and required VoLTE, Wi-Fi-calling and certification features. Check before purchase.
Does it have Google Play?
The original China software environment may require additional Google-service setup and may not behave like a global Xiaomi ROM.

No. It supports 120W wired charging only.

Is the 108MP camera good?
The stabilized main camera is the strongest part of the system; the 8MP ultrawide and 2MP macro are much more modest, so the phone is not an all-lens camera specialist.
Can it run Android Auto?
Compatibility is not guaranteed on China firmware or modified ROMs. Verify it on the exact handset before buying.
The Bottom Line
The Redmi K50 Pro still offers unusually strong hardware for an older phone, but importing one in 2026 is sensible only when the price is low enough to offset China-ROM, network, warranty and update risks. For a dependable primary phone, a newer officially supported model is usually the safer purchase.
