Verdict: Consider an OPPO A77 only after confirming the exact model, seller, condition and final price. The 2022 A77 5G is generally the better buy if its regional bands suit your carrier; the A77 4G makes sense only at a very low price for basic use. No live August 2026 retailer offer was verified, so there is no current price to call a bargain.
Check the listing before you judge the deal
“OPPO A77” can mean the 2017 A77, the 2022 A77 4G or the 2022 A77 5G. These are not interchangeable phones. A listing that omits the model number—or combines one version’s name with another version’s specifications—is not enough to make a buying decision.
- Confirm the full product name, model number, RAM and storage. The South African A77 5G specification page, for example, identifies model CPH2339; do not assume that identifier or its bands apply to every market.
- Check whether the unit is new old stock, open-box, manufacturer-refurbished, seller-refurbished or used. Ask for battery-health evidence where available.
- Verify the seller, warranty provider, return period, carrier unlock and IMEI eligibility. Confirm the final price includes taxes, shipping and any required plan or activation.
- Check whether the original charger and cable are included. Compatible OPPO charging equipment is needed for the advertised 33W SUPERVOOC charging.
For an imported phone, check the exact variant’s LTE and 5G bands, VoLTE support and carrier eligibility before paying. OPPO’s regional A77 5G pages list market-specific network information: Taiwan specifications and South Africa specifications. A “5G” label alone does not establish compatibility with your carrier, particularly in the US.
What counts as a good price?
The available verified prices are historical launch references, not current offers. OPPO’s India announcement priced the 2022 A77 4G at ₹16,499 when it announced the phone on August 29, 2022; the same announcement described a temporary launch promotion, which is not a current discount. OPPO Japan announced a separate regional A77 at a suggested retail price of ¥24,800 including tax, with sales beginning October 6, 2022. In 2026, a listing near its regional launch price is not compelling simply because it advertises a large battery or fast charging. Compare the final cost with newer phones available locally, and account for condition, warranty, missing accessories and battery wear. A sealed phone stored for years may also have lost battery capacity; used units need a return window or credible battery-health evidence. Without a current seller, condition and price, the offer cannot be verified as a deal.

The A77 4G specifications above come from OPPO India. The A77 5G details are from OPPO South Africa; OPPO’s Taiwan page likewise lists the Dimensity 810, 90Hz capability, 48MP rear camera and 33W charging. Regional configurations can differ.

What the A77 offers—and where it compromises
A77 4G: basic use at a steep enough discount
The 4G model’s 5,000mAh battery, 33W charging and expandable storage suit calls, messaging, browsing, video and light social use. Its Helio G35 processor and 4GB physical RAM make it an entry-level phone, not a strong choice for demanding games or heavy multitasking. OPPO’s advertised extra RAM is expansion using storage; it does not turn 4GB of physical RAM into the equivalent of an 8GB phone. The India announcement also lists microSD expansion up to 1TB, but confirm the capacity for the exact regional version.
Its 50MP headline camera resolution does not establish image quality. The listed rear setup is a main camera plus a basic depth sensor, not a versatile ultrawide or telephoto system. The Japan regional announcement identifies its A77 configuration as 4GB/128GB with Helio G35 and ColorOS 12 based on Android 12; do not assume every market’s software and configuration are identical. A77 5G: better hardware, still an old HD+ phone
The Dimensity 810, 6GB RAM and 5G make the 5G model materially more capable than the A77 4G. Its 90Hz option can make scrolling look smoother, but the 1612 × 720 screen is HD+, not a high-resolution panel. The 48MP main-camera figure likewise describes resolution, not guaranteed photo quality; the listed secondary rear camera is a depth sensor.
Both 2022 versions are now several years old. No current device-specific OPPO update record or support-policy source is established here, so a precise remaining support period cannot be promised. Expect a shorter remaining support horizon than with a current 2026 budget phone, and check the update status for the exact regional model before purchase.

Who should buy it—and who should skip it?
Consider it if
- You need a low-cost phone mainly for calls, messaging, video, browsing or light apps.
- You want a backup phone and have verified its condition, return terms and network compatibility.
- You are considering the A77 5G at a substantial discount, and its HD+ screen and regional band support work for you.
- The listing clearly identifies the version and model, and the final cost is well below the relevant historical launch reference and competitive with newer local options.
Skip it if
- The seller will not provide the exact model number or the listing mixes 4G and 5G specifications.
- The price is near launch pricing, warranty coverage is unclear, or a used phone’s battery condition and returns are unknown.
- You need heavy gaming, frequent multitasking, strong camera versatility, a sharp display or a long support runway.
- You are buying an import for US carrier use without confirming bands, VoLTE, unlock status, IMEI eligibility and warranty.
- The listing is for the 2017 A77 but presents it as one of the 2022 models.
Deal verdict: buy only with the right model and a real discount
- A77 5G: The version to favor if its regional model works on your network, the seller is reliable, and the price is low enough to justify a several-year-old phone with an HD+ screen.
- A77 4G: Consider only at a much lower price than the 5G model for basic use, with sound battery condition and meaningful returns or warranty.
