You can watch through a local FOX affiliate with an antenna, a cable or live-TV package that carries your local FOX station, or FOX’s direct-to-consumer streaming service, FOX One.
Outside the U.S., the broadcaster depends on your country. MLB.TV by itself is not the usual way to watch the U.S. World Series live.
How to watch the World Series in the United States
FOX holds the U.S. rights to MLB’s World Series through the 2028 season. The practical options are:
| Option | What you need | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Over-the-air antenna | A working antenna and a receivable local FOX affiliate | Viewers who want to watch without a monthly TV subscription |
| Cable or satellite | A package that includes your local FOX station | Existing pay-TV customers |
| Live-TV streaming service | A service carrying the FOX affiliate available at your address | Cord-cutters who want a broader live-channel package |
| FOX One | A FOX One subscription, or an eligible pay-TV login | Viewers who want FOX directly |
1. Use an antenna
A local FOX broadcast station may carry the game free over the air. Connect an antenna to your TV, run the television’s channel scan, and look for your local FOX affiliate. Reception depends on distance, terrain, building materials, antenna placement, and the availability of a FOX station in your market.

An antenna does not provide a national FOX feed if your area has no receivable affiliate. Before buying one, check the station coverage for your ZIP code and test reception where the antenna will be installed.
2. Watch through cable, satellite, or live-TV streaming
Any television package must carry your local FOX station, not merely a FOX-branded channel listed somewhere in the provider’s lineup. Enter your address on the provider’s channel-availability page before subscribing. Local-channel lineups can differ by ZIP code, and some streaming packages may carry FOX in one market but not another.
If you already subscribe to a participating pay-TV provider, you may also be able to use that account to sign in to FOX’s streaming service. The login does not create a FOX subscription by itself; your paid provider plan must include the FOX networks.
3. Subscribe to FOX One
FOX One is FOX’s direct-to-consumer streaming service. FOX currently lists a plan at $19.99 per month with a three-day free trial for eligible new subscribers. Prices, trial eligibility, and promotional terms can change, so verify the checkout page before paying.

Can you watch the World Series on MLB.TV?
Not with a standalone MLB.TV subscription alone in the United States. MLB’s current postseason instructions say that U.S. viewers can watch postseason games live on MLB.TV only after authenticating with a participating pay-TV provider.
That authentication is not a replacement for access to the FOX channel. In practice, MLB.TV is not the normal standalone cord-cutting solution for the U.S. World Series. You generally need one of these combinations:
- FOX through an antenna or a pay-TV package; or
- FOX One.
If you use MLB.TV, check its postseason instructions and your provider’s FOX access before assuming the game will play. A regular-season MLB.TV subscription and a postseason broadcast entitlement are not necessarily the same thing.

Where to watch the World Series outside the United States
International rights vary by country. MLB’s current international broadcaster list includes these examples:
| Country or region | Listed broadcaster examples |
|---|---|
| Canada | Sportsnet and TVA Sports |
| Australia and New Zealand | ESPN |
| India and several neighboring countries | FanCode and Star Select 2 |
| Japan | NHK G, NHK BS, SpoTV Now, and JSports |
| South Korea | SPOTV |
These listings do not necessarily mean every service offers the same streaming package or every game in every territory. Check MLB’s International Broadcasters page, then confirm the local broadcaster’s schedule and subscription requirements.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. When is the 2026 World Series?
FOX’s current MLB information says the 2026 regular season is scheduled to end on Sunday, September 27, 2026, with the postseason beginning on September 29. The World Series is scheduled for later in October.
A complete official game-by-game World Series schedule, including the Game 1 date and first-pitch time, should be checked before making plans. Do not rely on a copied date from an older schedule or an unofficial listing, because the final dates depend on the postseason schedule and MLB’s official updates.

Common mistakes when looking for the broadcast
- Searching ESPN first: The U.S. World Series is currently on FOX, not ESPN, during FOX’s current rights period.
- Assuming MLB.TV includes it automatically: U.S. postseason streaming through MLB.TV requires authentication with a participating pay-TV provider.
- Looking for FS1: Other postseason rounds may use different networks, but the World Series itself is on FOX.
- Ignoring local availability: A TV package can advertise FOX while the local affiliate is unavailable at your address.
- Waiting until game time to test: Check your FOX access, sign-in details, app installation, and local channel before the broadcast begins.
Quick choice guide
- Have a reliable local FOX signal? Use an antenna.
- Already pay for TV with FOX? Watch the local station or sign in to FOX’s streaming service.
- Want FOX without a broader TV package? Check FOX One’s current price and eligibility.
- Outside the U.S.? Use MLB’s international broadcaster list and your country’s listed provider.
FAQ
What channel is the World Series on in the United States?
The World Series airs live on FOX in the United States. You can receive it through a local FOX affiliate, a qualifying cable or satellite package, a live-TV streaming service that carries your local FOX station, or FOX One.
Can I watch the U.S. World Series with MLB.TV alone?
No. MLB’s current postseason guidance requires U.S. viewers using MLB.TV to authenticate with a participating pay-TV provider. MLB.TV alone is not the normal standalone option for the U.S. World Series.
How much does FOX One cost for the World Series?
FOX currently lists FOX One at $19.99 per month and a three-day free trial for eligible new subscribers. Pricing and trial terms can change, so check FOX’s checkout page before subscribing.
Where can I watch the World Series outside the U.S.?
Broadcasters vary by country. Examples listed by MLB include Sportsnet and TVA Sports in Canada, ESPN in Australia and New Zealand, FanCode and Star Select 2 in India and nearby countries, and SPOTV in South Korea. Check MLB’s current International Broadcasters page for your location.
The Bottom Line
For viewers in the U.S., start with FOX: use an antenna if your local affiliate is available, a TV package that carries the affiliate, or FOX One. MLB.TV alone does not normally provide the U.S. World Series live. International viewers should check MLB’s country-by-country broadcaster list because rights and streaming access differ.
