Install the correct Webex add-in

Create a Webex meeting from a new Outlook event
Once the add-in is enabled, you should see Webex meeting creation options in your meeting request.
- In Outlook, click New Event (or New Meeting).
- In the meeting window, look for a Webex button, panel, or scheduling option.

Check whether your Outlook for Mac supports the Webex add-in
Start by checking for the add-in presence.
- Open Outlook for Mac.
- Go to Tools → Get Add-ins (if available) or check the add-in area in your Outlook UI.
- Search for Webex and install the available add-in if listed.

Common Mistakes (and How to Avoid Them)
- Installing the wrong component (Windows installer on a device with an unsupported Outlook version).
- Assuming install equals enablement. Outlook can install add-ins but keep them unchecked until you enable them.
- Using multiple identities. If you’re signed into one Webex account but creating meetings for a different Microsoft 365 mailbox, you can get missing or blank meeting details.

If the Webex button works but the meeting link stays blank, check that your Webex account can create meetings and that the add-in is authenticated to the correct Webex identity.

If IT doesn’t allow the add-in or your platform can’t run it, you can still integrate Webex meetings into Outlook invites.
Schedule using the Webex site and paste details into Outlook
This is the most reliable fallback. Create the meeting in Webex, then paste the join link and dial-in info into the Outlook event body.
- Create the meeting on your Webex site.
- Copy the join URL (and dial-in details if needed).
- Create an Outlook meeting and paste the details.
- Send to attendees.
It’s manual, but it avoids add-in deployment delays.
Use a bot-generated meeting link from Webex
Some Webex deployments allow meeting creation via approved tools and then return a meeting link. If your org offers an internal workflow, you can insert the returned link into the Outlook invite.
This method depends entirely on your company’s approved automation options.

Why can’t I find Webex in the Microsoft add-ins list?
Your tenant may block user-installed add-ins, or the Webex integration might only be deployed to certain groups. Ask your Microsoft 365 admin whether Webex add-ins are allowed for your account.
Webex appears in Outlook, but no meeting link is generated. What’s wrong?
