Good alternatives include Bluehost, Scala Hosting, GreenGeeks, DreamHost, SiteGround, InMotion Hosting, HostGator, IONOS, Hosting.com and Namecheap. There is no universal winner: the right choice depends on whether you need basic shared hosting, WordPress management, room to grow, bundled email or a familiar control panel—and on the plan limits and renewal cost that come with it.
Compare the plan, not just the provider name
Before switching, define what the replacement must do. A useful comparison checks the same plan tier across providers for website and storage limits, backups, bandwidth terms, email, migration help and support. Also check the initial term and renewal rate: an advertised monthly price by itself does not show the total commitment.

Hosting models matter, too. Entry-level shared hosting and managed cloud hosting are not direct price equivalents. A simple site may fit shared hosting; a site that has outgrown shared-resource limits may need a different model. Compare each option against your actual needs rather than treating the lowest headline price as the best value.
Nine providers to compare
The table summarizes entry-plan examples from a comparison published August 7, 2026, in its Australian regional edition. Prices and capacities are reported snapshots, not like-for-like quotes: currency and market, term length, renewal rates, promotions and plan definitions can all change the comparison. Confirm current details at the provider’s local checkout.
| Provider | Useful comparison angle | Reported entry-plan example |
|---|---|---|
| Bluehost | Guided WordPress onboarding and included features | $3.99/month; 10 GB NVMe; 10 websites |
| Scala Hosting | Cloud-oriented plans and scaling | $2.95/month; 10 GB NVMe; one website |
| GreenGeeks | Environment-focused positioning | $2.95/month; 25 GB; one website |
| DreamHost | Plan limits and billing flexibility | $2.89/month; 25 GB NVMe; 25 websites |
| SiteGround | Managed WordPress tools and included support features | $2.99/month; 10 GB; one website |
| InMotion Hosting | Higher entry storage in the cited comparison | $4.99/month; 100 GB NVMe; two websites |
| HostGator | Conventional hosting and plan limits | $3.75/month; 10 GB SSD; 10 websites |
| IONOS | Low advertised first-year price | $1/month; unlimited storage and websites, as reported |
| Hosting.com | Performance-focused plans; formerly A2 Hosting | $2.99/month; 15 GB; one website |
| Namecheap | Budget entry plan and domain/hosting shopping convenience | $2.28/month; 20 GB SSD; three websites |
These figures come from a provider-authored comparison, so treat them as leads for checking plans, not as a ranking or guarantee. A separate 2026 overview from Tom’s Guide also emphasizes comparing plan features and renewal costs alongside introductory rates; its provider assessments are editorial judgments, not a promise about an individual site’s experience.

For a straightforward site
Start with shared plans and verify that the entry tier permits the number of websites you need. A low price can be a poor fit if the plan has a one-site limit or too little storage for your files.
Rank #2
For WordPress management or growth
Compare the actual WordPress tools, support, backup and migration provisions included at the plan level. If your site has outgrown shared-resource limits, consider cloud-oriented options separately rather than comparing their prices directly with entry shared plans.
For a tight budget
Use the first-term price only as one part of the calculation. Check the checkout’s currency, billing period, renewal price, and whether the advertised offer is promotional. Tom’s Guide’s 2026 overview likewise advises looking beyond the introductory rate.
For fewer surprises after signup
Confirm storage, website count, bandwidth terms, email inclusion, backup frequency and support channels before paying. If migrating an existing site, establish whether migration help is included and what it covers; do not assume every low-cost plan offers equivalent assistance.

Check these details before switching
- List what you need: websites, storage, email, backups, WordPress features and expected growth.
- Match plan types: compare shared with shared, and evaluate cloud hosting as a separate model.
- Calculate the commitment: record the promotional term, billing period and renewal price in your local currency.
- Verify service limits: check website caps, storage, bandwidth terms and included support or migration.
- Confirm current availability: review the provider’s local checkout because regional plans and promotions can differ.
