Your Roku can do more than play TV shows and movies: it can put personal media on your TV, mirror or share content from compatible Apple devices, show a supported home-camera feed, help locate a misplaced remote, and let some voice remotes control your TV. Which features work depends on your Roku model, software, remote, phone, and other equipment.
1. Put photos and videos from your phone on the TV
Roku supports ways to display personal photos and videos on a television, including Play on Roku and Photo Streams. It is a simple way to share a trip album or a family video on a larger screen. The available method depends on your phone and Roku model; not every sharing option works with every device. Roku’s guide to displaying phone media outlines the supported approaches.

2. Mirror or share content from an Apple device
With a compatible Roku and Apple device, you can use screen mirroring or AirPlay to show content on your TV. Roku describes mirroring as replicating what appears on a compatible mobile device. AirPlay can share movies, shows, music, photos, and videos; AirPlay 2 support is required on the Apple device. Compatibility varies by Roku model, so check Roku’s AirPlay and HomeKit instructions for your device.

3. View a compatible camera or doorbell feed on your TV
The Roku Cameras app can display live video from Roku Smart Home cameras and video doorbells. Roku Support describes it this way: “The Roku Cameras app lets you view a live stream on your TV from all your Roku Smart Home cameras and your video doorbell.”
- The camera or doorbell and TV must be signed in to the same Roku account.
- The camera or doorbell must be powered on and connected to the internet.
- Roku says Roku OS 11.0 or later adds the app after you install your first camera or doorbell; OS 11.5 or later is recommended for the optimal experience.

Lost Remote Finder can help you locate a compatible voice remote with a built-in speaker. Roku names the Roku Enhanced Voice Remote and Roku Voice Remote Pro (2nd edition) as examples. You can trigger the sound through supported methods such as the Roku mobile app or a device control; it plays for up to 60 seconds.
The remote may not make a sound if its batteries are depleted or it is out of range of the wireless network. Check Roku’s Lost Remote Finder instructions to confirm whether your remote and device support the feature.

Support varies by TV: a model may allow volume control but not power control, or the reverse. HDMI-CEC may also need to be enabled for supported controls. Roku explains the setup in its voice remote TV-control guide.
