If your TV setup has too few HDMI inputs, hard-to-reach ports or a compatible Android TV box that needs wired networking, a UGREEN accessory may solve the problem. What an HDMI switch does—and what a splitter does
UGREEN defines an HDMI switch as “a device that allows multiple HDMI source devices to share one HDMI display.” In practice, connect sources such as a console, streaming stick or Blu-ray player to the switch, then connect the switch’s output to the TV. Select the source you want to watch.

These are manufacturer-listed specifications, not independent test results. UGREEN’s SKU 15604 listing also names TVs as compatible displays and lists TV boxes, sticks, Chromecast, Roku, consoles and Blu-ray players among compatible sources. A short HDMI extension cable can make a recessed or crowded TV port easier to access, or give a plug more clearance behind the set. UGREEN’s EU listing for its 0.5 m extension cable names HDTVs, TV sticks, Roku Stick, Chromecast and Apple TV among compatible devices, and lists support up to 4K × 2K at 60 Hz. That is a manufacturer specification for the listed cable, not a promise that every connected setup will reach that mode.

UGREEN’s USB 3.0 Gigabit Ethernet adapter, SKU 15736, is listed as compatible with Mi Box S and Mi TV Box 3/4, with a maximum 1000 Mbps link capability. That figure describes the adapter’s link capability; it is not a guarantee of internet speed, which also depends on the box, network equipment and service.

How to choose without buying the wrong accessory
- Start with the problem. Too few TV inputs point to a switch; awkward port access points to an extension cable; wired networking applies only if the exact Android TV box supports the adapter.
- Match ports and direction. Count the sources and displays, then check whether you need several inputs sharing one output or a bidirectional device.
- Match the video format across the whole chain. Compare the switch’s HDMI version and listed resolution and refresh rate with the TV, source, cables and settings. Also check HDCP, HDR, CEC or gaming-feature requirements where relevant.
- Check cable guidance. Length and cable capability can affect whether a listed mode works; follow the model’s current instructions.
- Verify the exact model and regional listing. Similar-looking switches can have materially different specifications, and product availability may vary.
