The SCAR 18 pairs an RTX 5090 Laptop GPU rated up to 175W maximum TGP with an 18-inch 4K 240Hz Mini LED display; the Duo puts an RTX 5090 into a 16-inch dual-screen design. These are specification-led options, not a tested performance ranking: actual gaming speed depends on the exact configuration, power limits, cooling and workload.
How to read this shortlist
“Most powerful” is not a single specification. An RTX 5090 Laptop GPU name does not establish equal performance across laptops; GPU power limits, cooling and the particular configuration matter. Display resolution also changes the workload: driving a 4K panel is different from gaming at a lower resolution. ASUS’s published specifications identify hardware, but do not establish a measured head-to-head gaming winner among these models.

The remaining three are 2025 guide configurations: treat them as prior-generation, availability-dependent choices, and verify their complete product codes and specifications for your market before buying.
Two 2026 ASUS models with current specifications
1. ROG Strix SCAR 18 (2026), G835
For a large-screen gaming machine, the SCAR 18 is the most clearly specified high-end option in this shortlist. ASUS lists configurations with an Intel Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus and up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 Laptop GPU rated at 175W maximum TGP. Its 18-inch 4K Mini LED display is specified at 240Hz, with more than 2,000 dimming zones and 100% DCI-P3 coverage. ASUS notes that “Actual configuration may vary by region and SKU.” ASUS ROG Strix SCAR 18 (2026) product page

One important display setting affects the headline refresh rate: ASUS says the screen defaults to 120Hz in Standard, Eco and Optimized GPU modes. To use 240Hz, select Ultimate GPU mode. That setting is worth checking if refresh rate is central to your use. ASUS also states that memory and storage are user-upgradeable, with support up to 128GB RAM and 8TB storage on the product page; exact options can differ by SKU. 2. ROG Zephyrus Duo (2026), GX651
The Zephyrus Duo takes a different approach: a 16-inch dual-screen format rather than the SCAR’s 18-inch gaming-first panel. ASUS’s East Africa regional specification page lists an Intel Core Ultra 9 386H, RTX 5090 Laptop GPU with 24GB GDDR7, a 16-inch 3K OLED touchscreen at 120Hz, 64GB onboard LPDDR5X memory and a 2TB PCIe 5.0 SSD. The memory is not expandable. The listed weight is 2.82 kg (6.22 lb), so the dual-screen design should not be mistaken for an ultralight gaming laptop. Regional specifications may not match other markets. ASUS ROG Zephyrus Duo (2026) GX651 specifications

Three high-end 2025 configurations to check by SKU
ASUS’s 2025 ROG product guide excerpt identifies the following model codes among configurations with RTX 5090/24GB GDDR7. These are prior-generation listings; the guide excerpt is less complete than the 2026 product specifications, and family names alone do not tell you which GPU or other components a particular listing includes. Confirm the full code, GPU, memory, display and local stock with the seller.
| 2025 model listing | What the cited guide establishes | What to verify |
|---|---|---|
| ROG Strix SCAR 18 G835LX-SA047W | High-end RTX 5090/24GB GDDR7 configuration identified in ASUS’s 2025 guide excerpt. | Exact regional configuration, full specifications and availability. |

Which one fits your priorities?
- Choose the SCAR 18 (2026) for its specified 18-inch 4K, high-refresh Mini LED display and upgradeable memory and storage. Check the GPU mode if you expect to run the panel at 240Hz.
- Consider the Zephyrus Duo (2026) if the dual-screen 16-inch OLED touchscreen format is a priority. Its listed RAM is onboard and cannot be expanded.
- Consider a 2025 SCAR or Zephyrus G16 only after confirming the exact configuration. A model-family name or a retailer’s short description is not enough to establish it has an RTX 5090.
No comparable independent game benchmarks or cross-market prices are established for these five listings here, so it would be misleading to declare one the fastest in games or best value. For a meaningful buying comparison, match exact GPU TGP, cooling, screen resolution and refresh rate, weight, memory expandability and price for the specific SKU you can actually purchase.
