Milwaukee’s M12 Copper Tubing Cutter, 600 MCM Cable Cutter, 3/8-inch Crown Stapler and Quart Caulk and Adhesive Gun target repetitive tasks where small time savings can add up. Milwaukee publishes scenario-based estimates in minutes per day, installation or job—not proof that any one tool saves hours in a single use. The best fit depends on how often you repeat the task and whether the tool’s materials and consumables match your work.
How to read Milwaukee’s time-saving estimates
The figures below come from Milwaukee’s M12 technology page, accessed in 2026. Milwaukee does not state a publication date for the page, and these are manufacturer comparisons rather than independent time trials. Treat them as estimates for the described scenarios: your results will depend on task volume, technique and the manual tool you would otherwise use. The “hours” in the title are a possible cumulative effect across repeated work, not a measured result from one job.

1. M12 Copper Tubing Cutter for repeated copper cuts
For plumbers and HVAC technicians making repeated copper-tube cuts, Milwaukee describes a cut taking less than four seconds and claims the cutter is up to 10 times faster than conventional cutters. Its product-page estimate is 9.1 minutes saved per day compared with manual cutting. That daily figure is Milwaukee’s scenario estimate; actual savings depend on how many cuts you make and your manual method. Milwaukee’s M12 technology page.

2. M12 600 MCM Cable Cutter for electrical installs
Milwaukee says this cutter is designed to fit in crowded panels and generates 5,000 pounds of force. For an installation scenario assuming an average electrician cuts 48 wires per box, Milwaukee estimates 6.6 minutes saved per box install. The figure is tied to that stated workload, not a universal saving for every panel or wire count. Milwaukee’s M12 technology page.
Consider it when cable cutting is repeated during installations and access is tight. The scenario’s wire count is a useful reference point: a substantially different number of cuts will change the time comparison.

- RECESSED FORWARD - BACKWARD SWITCH on the back of the head prevents you from accidental actuations in the middle of an important job
- LOW PROFILE HEAD DESIGN allows you to work in an engine bay without issue
- ONBOARD FUEL GAUGE: Lights on the side of the unit will let you know how much power you have left
- LED LIGHTING on the front of the unit allows you to see your job in dimly lit conditions
- REDLINK INTELLIGENCE: A smart chip in this unit allows it to communicate with the M12 battery plugged into it. This prevents it from receiving too much power and overheating, saving it from unnecessary damage
3. M12 3/8-inch Crown Stapler for compatible flat-crown staples
For vapor barriers and other work that takes compatible flat-crown staples, Milwaukee specifies 3/8-inch staples from 1/4 to 9/16 inch long. In its vapor-barrier scenario, Milwaukee assumes 231 staples per install and compares 0.5 seconds per staple with 1.3 seconds using a manual stapler. It estimates a 3-minute saving per install. Verify staple type and length against your job before choosing this tool. Milwaukee’s M12 technology page.

The estimate is most useful for work with many repeated staples; it should not be applied to jobs using a different staple type or a much smaller staple count.

4. M12 Quart Caulk and Adhesive Gun for repeat dispensing
For repeated caulk or adhesive application, including subfloor work, Milwaukee compares dispensing at 0.6 seconds per foot with more than one second per foot for manual tools. Its subfloor scenario estimates 13 minutes saved per job and describes a user laying 12 subfloors per year. That is a specific manufacturer scenario, not a promise that every user—or every job—will save 13 minutes. Milwaukee’s M12 technology page.
This is a stronger candidate when adhesive dispensing recurs across substantial runs of work. The more your job differs from the stated subfloor example, the less directly its estimate applies.

To decide, estimate how often the task occurs, how many cuts, staples or feet of adhesive each job involves, and whether the required material or consumable matches. Also check whether the M12 battery system fits the tools you already use. The cited material does not establish current street prices, independent time trials or payback periods, so a savings estimate alone cannot show whether a purchase will pay for itself.

The M12 Multi-Tool is described for cutting, grinding, sanding and scraping in awkward work areas, with remodelers, flooring contractors, maintenance repair technicians and electricians named as relevant users. Milwaukee’s cited product page does not provide a comparable time-saving figure, so it is a different kind of utility pick rather than one of the evidence-led time estimates above.
