3D-printed loaded dice and card-marking tools are designed to tilt a game through hidden information or altered odds. Using them without the other players’ knowledge is deceptive; making a clearly disclosed prop, demonstrating how cheating works, or playing a game that explicitly permits rule-bending is a different matter. Online model listings show that loaded-die designs are available, but they do not prove that a particular print is biased or effective.
What makes a tabletop part a cheating device?
The key distinction is not whether an object was 3D-printed. It is whether players know what it does and whether the rules allow it. A die built to favor certain results, or a card altered so its identity can be recognized, becomes an unfair advantage when concealed in a game where everyone expects ordinary components.

The same object can have a legitimate use as a disclosed magic prop, a demonstration aid, or part of a game mechanic that the rules expressly authorize. Disclosure and consent change the context; they do not make covert use acceptable.

Loaded dice: what the printable designs claim
A loaded die is intended to favor selected outcomes through altered weight or internal structure. Two Cults3D listings illustrate the kinds of files makers can find, but their descriptions are creator claims, not independent performance tests.
#1 Best Overall
- Octopus monster dice tower – Add a dark sea‑monster vibe to your table. The 3D‑printed tentacle design fits perfectly with fantasy campaigns, dungeon crawls, and other tabletop RPG adventures.
- Fair rolls – Roll your dice through the opening and let them drop into the tray. The dice rolling tower's internal ramps create better randomization than rolling by hand.
- Built‑in dice tower and tray – The integrated catch tray keeps every roll contained and protects your table from scratches, so you don’t need a separate dice tray during intense dungeon crawls or boss fights.
- Holds nine dice – Side holders store up to nine D20s and other dice between encounters, turning this gaming dice tower into a practical tabletop RPG accessory as well as a striking centerpiece.
- Durable 3D printed construction – Made from high‑quality PLA with detailed sculpting and contrasting colors, this dice tower is a unique gift for DND players who love dark fantasy aesthetics.
- AnubisACX listing: Published October 17, 2023, it offers seven STL files: six loaded D6 variants and one described as “un-loaded.” The listing gives dimensions of about 18.87 mm per side and says the hollow dice can be printed on filament or resin printers. These are listing details, not verified measurements or proof of bias. See the listing.
- ferjerez3d listing: Published July 18, 2018, it describes hollow dice with a solid internal hemisphere and recommends high infill. That describes the creator’s design and suggested settings; it does not establish how consistently a printed die lands on any face. See the listing.
A Yahoo Tech page syndicating a How-To Geek article by Sydney Butler, dated September 11, 2026, also discusses loaded dice and 3D printing. It is reporting about the topic and design-specific print details, not evidence that the designs were independently printed or experimentally measured. Read the report.
How game rules draw the line
A game can make cheating an open mechanic
Hasbro’s Monopoly Cheaters Edition invites players to bend or break rules through designated cheat-card actions, with rewards or consequences defined by the game. That is a disclosed mechanic within that game—not permission to secretly alter the odds in a different game. Read Hasbro’s instructions.

- These are standard-sized black six-sided dice with silver pips for numbering.
- They are numbered normally, but are weighted so that they're more likely to roll six.
- They won't always roll six, but are far more likely to.
- In general the longer they roll, the more likely they are to land on six
- With a little bit of practice you can pretty frequently get a natural 18 on a roll of the three.
Tournament policies can explicitly prohibit card marking
The official Flesh and Blood Procedure and Penalty Guide says: “If the player has intentionally marked the cards or has intentionally taken advantage of certain cards being marked, it is considered Cheating.” This is a rule for that game’s tournament context. Read the official rules and policy resources.
Casino regulations are not universal home-game law
Ohio Administrative Code Chapter 3772-11 includes casino safeguards: card backs must be identical and must not reveal card identity through markings or designs, and dice may not be scribed or marked after inspection. These are Ohio casino provisions, not a general legal rule for every home board game or 3D-printed component. Read Chapter 3772-11.

What the available evidence does—and does not—show
Marketplace listings establish that people offer printable loaded-dice designs. They do not establish that a print works as advertised, how much it shifts outcomes, or how often players use such devices. The cited reporting likewise does not supply a reliable prevalence figure or independent test results. Treat performance statements as claims by a listing creator unless supported by controlled testing.
For fair play, use ordinary balanced dice and unaltered cards, and agree on any unusual component before a game begins. A 3D printer can be used openly to make a prop or teaching aid; concealment is what turns a component into an undisclosed advantage.
