Its sliding base and camera screw can help accommodate different bodies, while the built-in QD socket and XPAND slots add strap and rig options. It is not guaranteed to fit every camera or tripod head: check your camera’s ports and dimensions and confirm your exact clamp type before buying.
What the Lexie QD does
An L-bracket provides mounting surfaces on the camera’s base and side. That lets you move between landscape and portrait orientation by unclamping and rotating the camera on the tripod head, rather than tilting the head sideways. The Lexie QD uses a 38 mm / 1.5-inch Arca-Swiss profile, according to 3 Legged Thing’s product specifications.

The “QD” refers to the bracket’s built-in Quick Detach socket, intended for compatible QD straps and accessories. It is separate from the Arca-Swiss mounting interface: the latter attaches the bracket to a compatible tripod-head clamp, while the QD socket provides a strap attachment point.

The Lexie QD is adjustable rather than shaped for one camera body. Its base is 94 mm long and extends across a working range of 94–124 mm / 3.7–4.88 in. The camera screw slides forward or backward, and the upright cable cutout can be positioned in four orientations. These adjustments can help align the bracket and leave room for connectors, but they do not establish compatibility with every camera.

Before ordering, compare the camera’s base and side-port layout with the bracket’s dimensions. Check that the upright does not block the ports, cable plugs, weather flaps, or access you need, and that the base does not interfere with the battery door. A body-specific L-bracket may offer a more tailored fit; the Lexie’s advantage is adjustability and the possibility of sharing it across camera bodies.
In his 29 September 2026 review for Digital Camera World, Matthew Richards reports that the bracket left the ports and weather flaps accessible on a Sony A7 III. That is a useful example, not proof of fit for another model.

Arca-Swiss compatibility and tripod-head cautions
The 38 mm / 1.5-inch profile is designed for standard Arca-Swiss clamps. 3 Legged Thing warns that some Manfrotto Arca-Swiss clamps have a lip that can obstruct mounting, and that Manfrotto RC2 plate heads are not compatible. “Arca-Swiss” on a product description is not enough to settle every head’s compatibility: check the exact head and clamp model before buying.

How it performed in the review
Richards describes the Lexie QD as a multi-part assembly, a contrast with a dedicated one-piece bracket. In his testing across different camera models and lens sizes, he found it stable and rigid in both portrait and landscape orientation, without unwanted flex or twisting. Those are the reviewer’s reported findings, not an independent test of every camera-and-lens combination.

The review awarded five stars in its features, design, performance, and value categories. Treat those as Digital Camera World’s review scores rather than standardized measurements. Richards also notes that separate hex keys are supplied for adjustment and would have preferred a more comprehensive multi-tool.
QD straps and XPAND rig options
The QD socket is intended for compatible QD accessories, including 3 Legged Thing’s AXIS QD camera straps. For someone who regularly moves between handheld shooting and a tripod, a compatible quick-detach strap can make that change more convenient. Confirm the strap’s connection is compatible and check current availability before purchasing.

XPAND slots connect to compatible 3 Legged Thing Cheese Plates, Risers, and Connectors. The upright’s two 1/4-20 threads provide additional attachment points. These features matter most if you plan to build out a camera rig; they add less value if you only need a basic tripod plate.

That report listed it at $30 / £30; confirm current availability and compatibility with the particular legacy Lexie version before treating it as an option. Price and availability
At access, 3 Legged Thing’s US product page listed the Lexie QD at $59.99 USD and showed it as unavailable or on backorder. Digital Camera World’s 29 September 2026 review listed prices of $60, £50, and AU$129.
