When are Samira and Sett coming to 2XKO?

Is 2XKO shutting down?
No shutdown was announced. Riot said active development is scheduled to end at the close of 2026, while servers will remain online beyond that point and offline play will be unaffected. Riot also said the free-to-download game would remain available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. What is the last 2XKO update?
October: final major content patch
Riot’s August roadmap identified Samira as the final champion and described the October patch as the game’s final major content patch. It also planned to add the remaining cosmetics to the Ultimate Bundle in that patch. The October 27 roster announcement names Sett alongside Samira.

December: a possible bug-fix patch
Riot said an additional December patch was optional and would focus principally on bug fixes, with no major new content. It is not described as a guaranteed release.
What changes after active development ends?
Riot’s plan changes development and competitive features, not basic access to the game. It said all champions would be unlocked for all players, Ranked lobbies would be disabled, skill-matched casual matchmaking would remain, and private lobbies would be unaffected. Server availability and offline play were also set to continue beyond 2026.

Why is Riot ending active development?
Riot attributed the decision to player retention and operating economics. In its August 20 announcement, the company said, “we haven’t seen enough players stick with the game to get to a path toward sustainability.” It also said the game costs substantially more to operate than it earns. Riot did not publish numeric player-count, revenue, or retention figures in the cited announcements, so these reasons are qualitative explanations from the company, not a quantified public accounting.

What happened to purchases and refunds?
Riot said it disabled purchases of KO Points on August 20, 2026, and began refunding eligible purchases made before that date. Refund timing varies by platform and region; players should use Riot’s August announcement for the relevant platform-specific details rather than assume one schedule applies to everyone.
