The 2027 Lamborghini Temerario is ferociously quick and more usable on the road than its track-focused image might suggest, but it trades the Huracán’s naturally aspirated V10 character for a high-revving twin-turbo V8 hybrid. In CarExpert’s Australian-market quick drive, its speed and flexibility impressed; the quieter-at-road-speeds soundtrack, costly options and size were notable compromises.
What is the 2027 Lamborghini Temerario?
The Temerario takes over from the Huracán as Lamborghini’s junior supercar. Its new powertrain pairs a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 with three electric motors. That makes it a hybrid, but not a small-engined economy car: Lamborghini’s headline figures put it firmly in supercar territory.

Lamborghini quotes 920 CV (677 kW) of combined output, a 343 km/h top speed and 0–100 km/h acceleration in 2.7 seconds. These are manufacturer specifications, not results from an independent instrumented test. The company’s Temerario model page lists those figures.

Published power figures can differ because manufacturers and publications use different unit conventions. For example, Car and Driver lists 907 hp and 590 lb-ft alongside a 3.8-kWh battery; those figures should not be treated as a direct contradiction of Lamborghini’s CV and metric torque specifications without accounting for units and attribution. What is it like to drive?
CarExpert’s Josh Nevett drove the Australian-market car at Vairano Proving Ground near Milan, with drifting, drag racing and dynamic driving among the activities. His quick-drive verdict emphasizes enormous performance, the engine’s unusually broad rev range and easier road use than the car’s extreme pace might imply. It was a short drive at a controlled proving ground, so it does not establish long-term reliability, everyday ownership costs or a full account of real-world charging.
Speed and revs are the headline
The review praises the engine’s ability to rev beyond 10,000 rpm and the Temerario’s unconditional performance. The electric motors contribute to the hybrid system’s response, and CarExpert describes an EV mode and electric drive at the front axle in its Australian-market review. That electric capability gives the car another mode of operation, but the review does not establish a general real-world electric range across markets or conditions.
More approachable, but still wide-ranging in character
In Strada, the road-oriented setting, CarExpert describes light steering and soft suspension that make the car less demanding than its performance figures suggest. The reviewer also says the V8’s most rewarding character arrives at speeds beyond ordinary road limits. That creates the central tension: the Temerario can be easy to use, yet its most dramatic engine experience is difficult to access legally on public roads.

The V10 is a hard act to follow
The key emotional compromise is sound. CarExpert finds the V8 less aurally theatrical than the outgoing naturally aspirated V10, particularly at ordinary road speeds. The new engine’s high-revving nature is a distinct strength, but buyers drawn to the Huracán’s soundtrack should not assume the successor reproduces it.
Size matters away from the circuit
The reviewer says the Temerario feels larger than the Huracán and its rivals, making narrow roads less relaxing than a circuit. Its width and performance may be welcome on open roads or a track, but the quick drive does not support treating it as equally effortless in tight everyday settings.
What are the cabin and practicality like?
CarExpert reports 112 litres of storage under the bonnet and additional space behind the seats for soft bags. The review’s equipment discussion says there are no standard cupholders. It describes three screens in the reviewed equipment configuration, with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a Sonus Faber sound system and Lamborghini Vision Unit among the equipment highlights.

Comfort-seat fit is a specific concern: the review lists the seats as a poor fit for taller occupants. Its assessment of everyday usability is therefore not a claim that the Temerario works equally well for every body type or every kind of trip.

CarExpert listed the 2027 Australian-market Temerario at A$613,885 before on-road costs in its 2026 review. That is a dated, market-specific article price, not a universal price or a guarantee of current dealer pricing. The review says a few selected options can take the car well beyond A$800,000 on road.
Two cited options illustrate how quickly the specification can change the bill: CarExpert reported A$85,410 for the Alleggerita package and A$48,000 for carbon-fibre wheels. Those are article-reported Australian option prices, subject to change; confirm current availability, naming and pricing with a local Lamborghini dealer.

Rivals named in the Australian review
CarExpert identifies the Ferrari 296 GTB, McLaren 750S, Porsche 911 Turbo S and Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray as alternatives. Its listed prices are not directly comparable because the stated tax and road-cost bases differ.

These are the prices reported in CarExpert’s 2026 Australian-market article, not a like-for-like drive-away comparison or current transaction quotes. A meaningful shortlist should also consider powertrain type, electric operation, cabin comfort and storage, sound, and which options are needed for the desired specification. Lamborghini’s acceleration and power figures are manufacturer claims; rival figures should be compared only when their source and measurement method are also clear.
What are the Temerario’s efficiency figures?
Consumption figures vary by market and test cycle. CarExpert’s Australian review lists a 3.8-kWh lithium-ion battery, an 11 km electric range, 11.2 L/100 km claimed fuel economy and a requirement for 98-octane premium unleaded. The 11 km figure belongs to that review’s Australian context; it is not a guarantee of range in every market or driving condition.

Lamborghini’s 2026 brochure gives separate disclosures for European WLTP and US EPA testing. They should not be combined into one universal economy estimate.

The European brochure’s WLTP values and the US EPA estimates use different test cycles and units. Neither should be presented as a direct prediction of an individual owner’s consumption.
What is the quick-drive verdict?
CarExpert’s drive presents the Temerario as a major change of character for Lamborghini’s entry-level supercar: hybrid-assisted performance, a V8 that revs beyond 10,000 rpm and a more road-usable Strada setting, balanced against less V10-like sound, a large footprint and expensive options. It looks compelling for a buyer who values speed and breadth of ability more than reproducing the Huracán’s engine character. The short proving-ground drive cannot settle questions about long-term ownership or comfort over extended journeys.
