Crashes, No Sound, or Screen Glitches?

They can save manual work, but generated replies, detected event details, image interpretations, and formulas still need your review.
Here are ten workflows shown in MacMost’s September 23, 2026 tutorial, with availability caveats based on Apple’s feature listing.

Writing and responding
1. Start a document with a suggested name
When creating a document in Pages or a spreadsheet in Numbers, macOS can suggest a filename based on its contents. The suggestion may appear in the title area or during the save flow. Treat it as a useful starting point: accept it if it fits, or edit it to make the file easy to find later.

Suggested replies can help you answer a short email or message without composing every word from scratch. Choose a suggestion, edit it, or trim it before sending. Check that it reflects what you mean and suits the tone of the conversation; a concise draft is not necessarily a complete or appropriate answer.

Organizing what you have open or saved
3. Group Safari tabs by their page content
A Safari organization setting can group tabs according to what their pages are about, reducing the need to sort each tab manually. It is a convenience for tidying a crowded window, not a guarantee that every page will land in the group you would choose. Review the groups and move tabs when needed.
4. Let Reminders suggest sections for a list
Reminders can create sections based on the items in a list and sort new items into a section. This can help turn a mixed list into a more scannable one without setting up every section yourself. You can turn the organization off and choose whether to keep or remove the sections it created.

5. Turn event details in a message into a Calendar draft
When a message contains details that look like an event, Siri can surface an “Add to Calendar” option. Use it to begin an event rather than retyping everything, then check the date, time, and location in the draft before saving. A detected detail can be incomplete or misread, so do not rely on it without confirming it.
Finding information and understanding images
6. Ask about part of a screenshot
From the screenshot interface, select an area of the display and invoke Visual Intelligence to ask Siri about it. This lets you ask about something on screen without first saving a separate image. MacRumors also describes screen selection and keyboard access for Visual Intelligence; the exact route may depend on the device and system interface.

7. Ask about an object in a live camera view
MacMost demonstrates using the Magnifier app with a Mac camera to ask about an object or image, then ask follow-up questions. It is a way to explore what the camera is seeing without taking a separate photo first. Treat the response as an interpretation to check, not a guaranteed identification.
8. Search across apps using a description
From Spotlight, Siri can search Mail, Messages, Notes, and Calendar using a description rather than an exact keyword. This is useful when you remember the context of something—such as who was involved or what it concerned—but not the wording you used. Gary, the MacMost host, describes the demonstration this way: “You can just ask something like this and it will actually find it.” That illustrates the workflow, not a guarantee that every search will find the right item.

Working with spreadsheets and images
9. Ask for a Numbers formula, then test it
You can describe the calculation you want and ask for a formula, then copy the result into Numbers. Be specific about the cells or rows involved. MacMost’s example needed a follow-up correction when the first formula did not cover the intended rows, so inspect the formula and test its output against values you already know before using it in a larger sheet.
10. Generate a realistic-looking image in Image Playground
Image Playground can generate images from a description, including realistic-looking results. You can specify details such as the camera angle or materials to guide the result. Review the image for whether it actually fits your purpose; these examples do not establish that generated images replace stock imagery or clarify commercial-use rights.

Check compatibility before looking for a feature
Apple warns that macOS feature availability can vary by region and language. Its macOS Golden Gate feature-availability page lists capability families including Writing Tools, Finder intelligent file and folder name suggestions, Mail and Messages replies and summaries, Notes transcription summaries, Calendar event descriptions, Safari, Photos, and Siri. Names and availability can differ by locale, so consult Apple’s live listing for your language and region rather than assuming every feature shown above is enabled for every user.
MacRumors reported on September 14, 2026, that Golden Gate supports Macs with an M1 chip or later and the A18 Pro MacBook Neo, while Intel Macs are unsupported. It also reported that some on-device Siri processing features, including natural-voice selection and upgraded dictation, require M3 or later. Check Apple’s current system requirements for your specific Mac before making an upgrade decision.
What these small features do—and do not—show
These examples illustrate AI assistance in routine app workflows: writing and replies, organization, retrieval, visual questions, and spreadsheet work. The cited demonstrations and Apple’s availability listing do not establish comparative accuracy, measured time saved, or productivity gains. Their practical value depends on whether a feature is available on your Mac and whether its suggestion is good enough for the task at hand.
