U.S. sports rights are split among leagues, broadcasters, and streaming providers, so no service in this guide can be treated as a universal source for every live game. Ten authorized options, matched to what you want to watch
These are official services or distribution routes described by the leagues, broadcasters, providers, or the FCC. They are not all interchangeable: some focus on one league, some carry only particular broadcast windows, and some require a participating TV provider. Package names and rights can change by season.

What to know about each service
NFL+: mobile live games and replays
The NFL describes NFL+ as including live local and primetime games on phones and tablets, along with replays and other programming. Its support information says live games are subject to rights and blackout limits. It does not establish NFL+ as a way to watch every game live on a connected TV or computer. The NFL support article describing these limits is dated August 25, 2025.
NFL Sunday Ticket: out-of-market Sunday afternoons
The NFL lists Sunday Ticket on YouTube TV for out-of-market Sunday afternoon games. That makes it a specific option for fans whose preferred team is outside their local market, not a complete NFL package. The NFL’s viewing information also identifies separate services for other game windows.

Prime Video, Peacock/NBC, and Paramount+: follow the broadcast window
The NFL identifies Prime Video for Thursday Night Football and the Black Friday game, Peacock and NBC for Sunday Night Football, and Paramount+ for local CBS games. These are distinct routes to specific NFL broadcasts, not interchangeable subscriptions. Confirm which service carries the particular game you want and whether it is available in your location.
FOX One: a wide sports menu, with a current-price caveat
FOX’s bundle page lists NFL, NBA, WNBA, MLB, NHL, college sports, NASCAR, UFC, FIFA World Cup, and other programming. FOX describes the package as offering more than 50,000 live events each year; that is the company’s figure, not an independent count. The page accessed in 2026 showed $39.99 per month and no free trial. Because both price and package contents can change, check the current terms before paying. The cited page does not establish that every event in those sports is included.

- Shows on the go: Take your TV to-go when traveling—without needing to log into someone else’s device.
The NFL’s viewing information also names ESPN among its distribution routes. Which games or package apply depends on the event; do not assume the name alone guarantees access to a particular matchup.
MLB.TV: out-of-market baseball
MLB identifies MLB.TV as a route to out-of-market team games. It is different from services offered for a team’s in-market audience, and national broadcasts or blackout rules may affect whether a specific game is available. MLB’s team guide covers the 2026 season, but the applicable territory and package should be checked for the team you follow.

Team and regional MLB services: in-market options
MLB’s guide lists team-specific services and its package information gives examples such as SNLA+, SNY, and MASN+. These services are territory-dependent, so a team name or service name is not enough to determine eligibility: confirm that your location is covered and review which games the package includes.
NBA League Pass and NBA TV through participating providers
The NBA lists participating U.S. TV providers for NBA League Pass and NBA TV, including Amazon Prime, Fubo, and Sling TV. If you buy through a provider, that provider manages billing and account handling. The NBA provider page was updated September 8, 2026; verify current participation and terms with the provider before subscribing.

NFL Channel: free NFL programming, not every live game
The NFL describes its free channel as offering live game-day coverage, replays, and other NFL programming. That is useful for NFL content, but it should not be confused with a live feed of every regular-season game.
Can free local broadcasts replace a streaming subscription?
Sometimes, for games carried by local broadcast stations. The FCC notes the continuing role of free over-the-air television in access to live sports. Reception and available channels vary by location, and broadcast schedules do not provide every league game or out-of-market matchup. An indoor HDTV antenna may help receive local stations where reception permits; it does not unlock subscription-only games or bypass blackouts.

The FCC described the broader problem in a Federal Register notice published March 4, 2026: “Sports fans are increasingly left with a fragmented ecosystem that requires them to subscribe to multiple services to watch their favorite teams.” Free local broadcasts can cover part of a schedule, but they are not a universal replacement for paid access.
How to choose without paying for the wrong package
- Start with the exact games. Check the team’s official schedule and identify the broadcast or streaming service listed for each matchup. A league subscription may not include nationally televised games or local broadcasts.
- Check your market. Determine whether you need in-market or out-of-market access. This distinction is especially important for MLB.TV, team/regional MLB packages, and NFL Sunday Ticket.
- Read the blackout and rights rules. A service can list a league or team without making every game viewable in every location. Check the event-level restrictions before subscribing.
- Confirm how you can watch. NFL+ live-game access is limited to phones and tablets according to NFL support. For any other package, verify current phone, tablet, desktop, and connected-TV support rather than assuming all devices are covered.
- Check authentication and billing. Some routes depend on a participating TV provider; provider-purchased NBA subscriptions are billed and managed by that provider. Make sure you can use the required account or provider login.
- Compare the actual package and price. Review live games, replays, on-demand programming, bundle contents, trial terms, and the current recurring price. Do not rely on an old season’s package description or a promotional price.
That checklist reflects the central trade-off: a broad sports bundle may cover more categories, while a league or team service may better match a particular fan’s schedule. The right choice is the one that includes the games you want, in your territory, on the devices you use.
Why a single “free sports streaming site” is not a reliable answer
There is no evidence here that one authorized website streams every major sport and event free. Rights are divided among leagues, broadcasters, and providers, and the FCC has described the result as fragmented. Free local television and free NFL programming can be useful, but neither guarantees access to every game. Treat any offer promising universal free access to subscription or out-of-market games with caution; use the official league, broadcaster, or provider route to confirm availability.
