What’s in the free 007 First Light update?
IO Interactive describes Extended Operations as the game’s first major free DLC. The October 1, 2026 update adds several ways to replay or capture the game, alongside new TacSim activities and a broad set of fixes.

- New Game+: Replay the campaign after completing it, with outfit changes and access to gadgets unlocked by that point in the story.
- Photo Mode: Capture and compose in-game images.
- “00” difficulty: A tougher mode that unlocks after campaign completion.
- TacSim content: The Jungle Heist mission returns to The Pearl in Vietnam, and Valhalla Protocol is among the additions.
- Weapon handling: Refined animations across the arsenal.
- Fixes and improvements: IO Interactive reports more than 700, covering issues including crashes, progression blockers, clipping, audio, localization and UI polish.
Feature names, unlock requirements and the reported fixes count come from IO Interactive’s Update 1.3.0 patch notes. The count is the developer’s figure, not an independently audited tally.

New Game+
Finish the entire campaign first. Once unlocked, New Game+ lets you replay the campaign and change outfits through the journal. You can also switch among gadgets already unlocked at the corresponding point in the story; it does not grant access to gadgets ahead of the campaign’s progression.

“00” difficulty
Complete the campaign to unlock this challenge as well. Enemies spot Bond faster and hit harder, while gadget resources restore only a fraction of their use. The mode is designed to make detection and resource management more demanding.

Jungle Heist
Jungle Heist returns players to The Pearl in Vietnam. IO Interactive lists it as new TacSim content in this update.

Valhalla Protocol
Valhalla Protocol is another named addition. TechRadar reports that it includes a driving activity in Slovakia featuring the Aston Martin Valhalla. The outlet reproduces IO Interactive’s description of taking the wheel of Bond’s heavily armed car, with machine guns and missile launchers available during the drive. That vehicle description is developer copy quoted by TechRadar, rather than an independent assessment of the activity.

How large is the download?
IO Interactive’s October 1, 2026 patch notes list these download sizes. Update sizes can change with later patches or platform delivery, so treat these as the figures published for Update 1.3.0, not a permanent install-size guarantee.

Is Extended Operations free, and what do you need to play it?
Extended Operations is described by IO Interactive as free DLC for the base game, not as a separate paid expansion or a set of paid update tiers. You still need 007 First Light to play it; the update’s free status does not mean the base game is free. IO Interactive’s support page lists PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC (Steam, Epic Games Store and Microsoft Store) as platforms with a May 27, 2026 release date. The same page lists Nintendo Switch 2 for March 2027, a future date as of October 3, 2026—not a completed release.
For PC, the support page lists Windows 10/11 64-bit, 16 GB RAM minimum, an SSD and 80 GB of available storage, alongside CPU and GPU requirements. Check the full platform and system-requirements listing for the complete specifications before installing.
IO Interactive says the full main campaign can be played offline after a one-time connection to download the Day 1 patch. Its support information identifies leaderboards and challenges as online features, but does not establish that every feature added in Extended Operations works offline.
What the “700-plus fixes” figure means
IO Interactive says the update contains more than 700 fixes and improvements, drawing on player reports, support tickets and feedback. The developer cites crashes, progression blockers, clipping, audio, localization and UI polish among the areas addressed. The figure is a company-reported count; it does not indicate that every player will encounter or notice hundreds of separate changes.
