IO Interactive released Extended Operations for 007 First Light on October 1, 2026, as a free update, version 1.3.0. It adds New Game+, a tougher 00 difficulty, Photo Mode and new TacSim missions, alongside more than 700 developer-reported fixes and improvements. The update is free; players need the base game to use it.
What’s in the free Extended Operations update?
IO Interactive describes Extended Operations as the game’s first major free DLC. Update 1.3.0 was scheduled to go live at 12:00 UTC / 14:00 CEST on October 1, 2026. The additions include campaign replay features, a new difficulty, Photo Mode, TacSim content and refinements to weapon-handling animation fidelity.

The update also changes an enemy tactic: Bond can now be thrown off ledges, a move previously associated with enemies. IO Interactive’s October 1 announcement introduces the headline additions, while its Update 1.3.0 patch notes detail the changes.

How New Game+ and 00 difficulty work
New Game+ unlocks after finishing the campaign
Complete the campaign to unlock New Game+. You can replay from the start or from a completed checkpoint, carrying unlocked outfits and gadgets into the replay. During NG+, outfits can be changed through the journal, and unlocked gadgets can be swapped during missions when story availability permits.

00 is a post-completion challenge
The 00 difficulty option also unlocks after campaign completion. It is designed to make stealth and combat less forgiving: enemies react to disturbances sooner, tougher guard types appear, combat hits harder, and parry and side-step windows are tighter. Gadget use is more restricted when guards have line of sight, and resources restore only a fraction of gadget use. The game’s existing Easy, Normal and Hard choices remain distinct from this additional, more demanding option.
Two new TacSim additions: Valhalla Protocol and Jungle Heist
Valhalla Protocol
Valhalla Protocol consists of four driving missions in the Slovakian Mountains, with day and night conditions. Players drive the armed Aston Martin Valhalla and use its weapons against targets; the challenges reward time bonuses and high scores.

Jungle Heist
Jungle Heist sends Bond to The Pearl resort in Vietnam to retrieve classified documents from a guarded villa. IO Interactive says the mission uses the full villa, including its rooftop, and that the interior has been redesigned to create more opportunities for stealth. TacSim also gains access to the full main-campaign weapon arsenal.

Photo Mode’s documented controls
Photo Mode lets players pause the action and compose an image using camera transformation and lens settings. The listed options also include brightness, post-processing filters, UI visibility, character posing, and background, frame and logo choices. These are the controls described by IO Interactive in its feature announcement.

What else does Update 1.3.0 change?
IO Interactive says the patch contains over 700 fixes and improvements. Its notes describe work across crashes, progression blockers, clipping, audio, localization and UI polish. That number is the developer’s reported total for fixes and improvements, not a count of new features.
Listed download sizes
IO Interactive’s support notes list these download sizes for Update 1.3.0. They are patch downloads, not comparisons of the platforms’ total installed game size.

No. Extended Operations is free for owners of 007 First Light; it is an update rather than a separate paid DLC purchase. IO Interactive’s support page lists the base game for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC from May 27, 2026, and Nintendo Switch 2 in March 2027. The Switch 2 timing is a forward-looking listing in a support article updated September 15, 2026, so it may change.
