If a 007 First Light update will not start or is stuck, first identify whether the problem is the storefront’s download queue, installation space, or a separate PC launch or network issue. Check the latest official game notices and the support page for your platform; the official troubleshooting guide does not document one universal fix for stuck downloads across PlayStation, Xbox, Steam, Epic Games Store, and Microsoft Store. On PC, follow the official checks below in order, and avoid reinstalling until simpler steps fail.
First identify what is failing
Note the platform and storefront, the game version if visible, any exact error text or code, and the point where the process stops. A download that never begins is different from an update that downloads but will not install, a game that will not launch afterward, or a game that launches with poor performance.

- Download will not begin or stalls in a queue: Check the storefront’s current download status and support guidance, then consult 007 First Light Player Support. The official game materials do not establish a single platform-independent queue fix.
- Update downloads but cannot install: Check available space and the update’s platform-specific size before trying more disruptive steps.
- Game will not launch after updating: Use the PC startup checks below if you are on PC; do not assume the download itself is still the problem.
- Hitching, low frame rate, or network interruptions: Treat these as performance or connectivity symptoms, not evidence that a storefront update queue is broken.
Check official status and the update size
IO Interactive’s known-issues page was updated September 17, 2026, and listed build 1.2.1 with no major issues to share at that time. That is a dated status snapshot, not confirmation of the newest build or current service status. The official Update 1.3.0 notes, published October 1, 2026, are newer; check the live notices for changes since those dates.
The Update 1.3.0 notes give these package sizes. They apply to that specific update, not every patch or the total free space every platform may need while installing:

These figures describe the download packages in the official notes; installation space behavior can vary by platform and storefront. If your platform reports that more space is needed, use its displayed requirement rather than treating the package size as a universal storage target.
On PC, work through the official checks in order
IO Interactive’s PC guide says to start with its “Try first” steps. Confirm the minimum requirements, then proceed through the sequence below, restarting where indicated. The official requirements page advises checking the relevant storefront listing for final details.

- Confirm the PC meets minimum requirements. The official listing specifies Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit; 16 GB RAM; 80 GB available storage; and an SSD. Minimum CPU examples are Intel Core i5 9500 or AMD Ryzen 5 3500; graphics examples are NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660, AMD RX 5700, or an Intel discrete equivalent. See official editions, launch details, and system requirements.
- Restart the PC. Then try the update again in its storefront.
- Install pending Windows updates and restart.
- Update the graphics driver and restart. Use the appropriate GPU vendor’s driver update process.
- Verify or repair the game files in the storefront where you own the game, such as Steam, Epic Games Store, or the Xbox app. Use that storefront’s current verification or repair control.
- Disable overlays from the storefront, chat, capture, or GPU software, then test again.
These are official PC troubleshooting steps for game problems; file verification and overlay changes are not guaranteed fixes for a download that never enters the storefront queue.

The update completes, but the game will not launch
Start with the PC checks above. If launch trouble continues, the official guide lists running the game as administrator, removing custom launch options, and trying a clean boot as further steps. Reinstalling is a later resort, not a required response to every failed update; use it only after less disruptive troubleshooting has failed.

The game launches but hitches or runs slowly
For hitching, the official PC guide recommends confirming the game is installed on an SSD and that the install drive has free space. For persistently low frame rates, try lowering resolution or demanding visual settings. These are performance measures, not fixes for a stalled storefront download.
You see disconnections or high ping
The official guide suggests power-cycling the modem or router, testing an Ethernet connection, disabling a VPN or proxy, and pausing other downloads or streams. These steps address connection symptoms; they do not confirm that an update server is available or guarantee that a download will start.

What the offline-play note means
The launch information says a one-time internet connection was required to download the Day 1 patch, after which the full main campaign is playable offline. That statement concerns the Day 1 patch and campaign play; it does not say that later updates can be downloaded without an internet connection.

When to contact support, and what to include
If your storefront’s own guidance does not resolve the issue, contact the platform’s support for queue or account problems and 007 First Light Player Support for game-specific problems. Include enough detail to distinguish a download failure from an installation, launch, or performance problem:
- Platform and storefront (for example, Steam, Epic Games Store, or Microsoft Store/Xbox app), plus your country or region.
- Date and time of the failure, including timezone.
- The exact error text or code, and where the process stops.
- What you have already tried.
- For PC: CPU, GPU, RAM, and Windows version.
- For PC issues, attach a DxDiag report as the official troubleshooting page requests.
Create a DxDiag report on Windows
- Open Start and search for dxdiag.
- Open the DirectX Diagnostic Tool and choose Save All Information….
- Save the text file and attach it to your support ticket.
The support instructions note that the report can include your PC name and drive names, though it does not include passwords or payment details. Review the file and remove information you prefer not to share before sending it.
