The distinction matters: the company did not report a broad decline across all profit measures. Its October 2, 2026 results release showed net sales of ¥69,987 million, operating profit of ¥5,856 million and ordinary profit of ¥6,348 million.
What Zojirushi reported for the nine-month period
The results compare the nine months ended August 20, 2026 with the corresponding prior-year period. The company’s release is an English translation; it says the Japanese original prevails if there is a discrepancy. Zojirushi’s October 2, 2026 consolidated results release.

What the profit figures do—and do not—say
Gross profit was ¥24,064 million, compared with ¥22,418 million in the prior-year nine-month period. Selling, general and administrative expenses (SG&A) rose to ¥18,207 million from ¥16,858 million, while operating profit increased to ¥5,856 million from ¥5,560 million. These figures describe the reported movements, but the release does not establish a specific cause for the divergence between higher operating and ordinary profit and lower parent-attributable profit. Accordingly, the results support saying that revenue held up and parent-attributable profit softened; they do not support attributing that decline to a particular product, region, tariff, currency movement or expense. A prior-year comparison is not, by itself, an explanation of the current-year change.
How the nine-month results compare with FY2026 guidance
In the October 2 release, Zojirushi left its latest full-year forecast unchanged. The forecast covers the fiscal year, whereas the results above cover nine months, so the figures below are not like-for-like periods. FY2026 forecast in the results release.

The remaining difference between nine-month reported results and a full-year forecast is not a reported fourth-quarter result. The guidance is the company’s forecast, not a guarantee of the eventual outcome.

At August 20, 2026, Zojirushi reported total assets of ¥116,572 million, net assets of ¥92,014 million and an equity ratio of 78.1%. Earlier company releases provide context, but they cover different periods and should not be conflated with the nine-month results. In its June 29, 2026 second-quarter release, Zojirushi reported six-month sales of ¥51,210 million, up 2.2%, and operating profit of ¥5,212 million, up 7.0%. The FY2026 second-quarter release. Its January 9, 2026 FY2025 annual results showed sales of ¥91,151 million, up 4.5%, operating profit of ¥7,436 million, up 24.9%, and parent-attributable profit of ¥5,980 million, down 7.5%. The FY2025 presentation attributed that earlier nine-month parent-attributable profit decrease to comparison against a gain on sale of non-current assets recorded in the preceding fiscal year. What investors can conclude from this release
- Revenue increased 3.4% year over year over the nine-month reporting period.
- Operating profit and ordinary profit also increased, by 5.3% and 3.9% respectively.
- Parent-attributable profit declined 2.9%; the release does not establish a specific cause for that decline.
- The full-year guidance remained unchanged in the October 2 release, but it remains a forecast rather than a reported result.

Investors seeking a fuller view can consult the company’s filings and later disclosures; this results release alone is not a stock valuation or buy/sell recommendation.
