Zenless Zone Zero supports cross-save when you use the same linked HoYoverse Account, so you can move between PC, iOS, Android, PlayStation, and Xbox. The important qualifications are account linking, server selection, device compatibility, and the limits of mobile controller support. There is no reliable official comparison that proves one platform has better frame rates, graphics, loading, battery life, or overall performance, so those claims should not decide your purchase.

Which platforms support Zenless Zone Zero?
The platform list has expanded since launch. HoYoverse’s July 2, 2024 launch notice named PC, Android, iOS, and PlayStation 5. A September 9, 2025 HoYoverse cross-save article also names Xbox as a supported platform. For a current choice, treat the supported ecosystem as:

- Windows PC

Mac was listed as unsupported in the 2024 launch material. Do not assume that a later PC, console, or mobile announcement changes Mac support without checking HoYoverse’s current platform information.

The game is presented in the official material as a digital free-to-play title. That does not mean every device can run it comfortably: the relevant minimum requirements, operating-system version, storage, and account rules still apply.

How cross-save works across devices
Cross-save is the feature that makes a multi-platform choice practical. HoYoverse says Zenless Zone Zero data can synchronize across PC, iOS, Android, PlayStation, and Xbox when you sign in with the same linked HoYoverse Account.
Set up continuity before starting a second device
- Create or sign in to a HoYoverse Account rather than treating each platform login as a separate identity.
- Link the platform account you are using, such as your PlayStation Network account, when the game’s account-management flow asks you to do so.
- Record the server selected for your original account. A character created on one server is not automatically available on a different server.
- Install the game on the second device and choose the same sign-in method and server.
- Confirm that your existing account and progress appear before beginning a new game or making any purchase.
HoYoverse’s PS5 FAQ explains that different servers cannot exchange account data and instructs players to link their PSN account and HoYoverse ID for cross-platform syncing. The exact account screens can change, so follow the labels shown in the current game client rather than relying on an old menu guide.

What cross-save does not guarantee
- It does not merge progress from two unrelated HoYoverse Accounts.
- It does not move data between different servers.
- It does not eliminate platform-specific account or payment rules. Check the current PlayStation, Xbox, Apple, Google, and PC account prompts before assuming every transaction behaves identically everywhere.
- It does not make an unsupported device compatible.
If your progress is missing
- Stop creating new characters on the second device; a new local profile can make it harder to identify the intended account.
- Sign out and sign back in with the exact HoYoverse Account used on the original device.
- Compare the server region shown in the client with the server used for the original character.
- On PlayStation, verify that the intended PSN account is linked to the intended HoYoverse ID.
- If the account and server are correct but data is still absent, use HoYoverse’s support process with your account details rather than repeatedly unlinking accounts.
PC: best for officially documented controller flexibility
PC is the strongest fit for players who want a conventional desk setup or a separate gamepad. HoYoverse’s Help Center article, updated October 8, 2025, states: “Controller support is currently available only on PC.” The same guidance lists DualSense, DualSense Edge, DualShock 4, Xbox, and Xbox Elite wireless controllers as supported controller families.

This guidance matters because mobile input is different. HoYoverse says controller use is not supported on Android or iOS in that article. A controller may pair with a phone at the operating-system level, but that does not mean Zenless Zone Zero will accept it. If a physical controller is essential, PC is the platform with explicit official support in the reviewed guidance.
When PC is the sensible default
- You already own a computer that meets the current requirements.
- You prefer keyboard and mouse or one of the officially listed wireless controllers.
- You want to move between a desktop session and a mobile or console session using the same linked account.
- You can keep enough free storage for the installation and future updates.
PC limitations to keep in mind
The reviewed sources do not provide a complete, current recommended PC specification or a controlled comparison with console and mobile versions. Do not select PC solely on an assumption of higher frame rates, sharper graphics, faster loading, or lower input latency. Those outcomes depend on the particular computer, display, settings, drivers, and network conditions, and no comparable official benchmark was supplied.
PlayStation: the straightforward console choice
PlayStation suits readers who already spend their gaming time on that console and want a living-room setup with the platform’s standard input. The official launch notice identified PS5, and HoYoverse’s later cross-save guidance includes PlayStation in the supported account ecosystem.
The main decision is therefore not a published performance ranking; it is whether you want to play on the console you already own. Before starting, pay attention to the account screen. HoYoverse’s PS5 guidance says the PSN account and HoYoverse ID need to be linked for cross-platform synchronization, and it warns that different servers cannot exchange account data.

Use PlayStation if
- Your PS5 is your primary gaming device.
- You want a console-first experience without selecting PC components or managing mobile storage.
- You are willing to confirm account linkage and server choice before starting progress.
Avoid an account mix-up
If you have already played on PC or mobile, do not rush through the first-run account prompts on PS5. Sign in with the existing HoYoverse Account, check the server, and verify that your established profile appears. If you begin on PlayStation first, link the account before trying to continue on another platform.
Mobile: portability, with stricter compatibility checks
Mobile is the natural choice when you want to play away from a desk or television. That portability is a practical advantage of the device category, not a measured claim that mobile performs better. Your experience will depend on the exact phone or tablet, its operating system, available storage, thermals, battery condition, and network.
Android minimum requirements published by HoYoverse
HoYoverse’s minimum-requirements article, updated August 26, 2025, specifies these Android baselines in the available guidance:
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 855, MediaTek Dimensity 1200, or HiSilicon Kirin 990 processor
- At least 8 GB of RAM
- Android 11 or later, or HarmonyOS 4 or later
- At least 20 GB of available storage
These are minimum requirements, not a promise of a particular frame rate or visual setting. Leave additional free space for updates instead of treating 20 GB as a permanent storage target. Requirements can change with game updates, so check the current official requirements page immediately before installing.

iOS and iPadOS checks
iOS is supported, but the reviewed requirements excerpt does not state a universal iPhone or iPad model cutoff. Check HoYoverse’s current iOS requirements and the App Store listing for your exact device and operating-system version. Also verify that enough storage remains after accounting for the operating system, photos, and other apps.
Mobile input limitation
HoYoverse’s October 2025 controller guidance says Android and iOS controller use is not supported. Plan to use touch controls on mobile. If touch input is unacceptable, choose PC with one of the officially documented controllers or use your console instead.

Xbox was not named in the July 2024 launch notice, but HoYoverse’s September 9, 2025 cross-save article includes Xbox among the platforms that can share data through a linked HoYoverse Account. That makes Xbox relevant to a current platform decision even though the original launch list was narrower.

A decision process that avoids the usual mistakes
- Start with hardware you already own. If you have a suitable PC, PS5, Xbox, or recent mobile device, using it usually avoids buying equipment for an unproven benefit.
- Choose your preferred input. Select PC if you need an officially supported separate controller. Select mobile only if touch controls are acceptable, because HoYoverse’s guidance excludes Android and iOS controllers.
- Check compatibility. For Android, compare your processor, RAM, operating system, and free storage with the published minimums. For iOS and PC, consult the current official requirements for the exact device.
- Decide where you need access. Mobile is easiest to carry; PC and consoles are better suited to a fixed setup. This is a convenience decision, not evidence of a universal performance winner.
- Protect your account continuity. Link the HoYoverse Account, note the server, and confirm the profile on each platform before investing time in a new installation.
- Test the platform during a normal session. Check touch or controller comfort, storage headroom, network reliability, and whether the device remains usable for the length of your play sessions. Do not infer results for every device from another person’s benchmark.
Common problems and practical fixes
“My controller works in the phone’s settings but not in the game.”
This is expected under HoYoverse’s reviewed guidance: controller support is documented for PC, while Android and iOS controller use is listed as unsupported. Use touch controls on mobile or move the session to PC or console.
“My character is missing after I changed platforms.”
Check the HoYoverse Account first, then the server. Cross-save cannot exchange data between different servers. On PS5, confirm that the PSN account is linked to the same HoYoverse ID used elsewhere.
“The store says my phone is incompatible.”
Compare the device with the current requirements rather than relying on an old launch-era specification. On Android, the published baseline is Snapdragon 855, Dimensity 1200, or Kirin 990, 8 GB RAM, Android 11 or HarmonyOS 4, and 20 GB free space. If any item falls short, a different platform is safer than forcing an installation.
“I want the best graphics and frame rate.”
No comparable official platform benchmarks were found in the reviewed material. Choose based on your own hardware, input preference, portability needs, and verified compatibility instead of an unsupported universal ranking.
Bottom line by player type
- Choose PC if officially documented controller support, desktop flexibility, or keyboard-and-mouse play is central to your decision.
- Choose PlayStation if you already prefer PS5 and want the least disruptive console setup, while taking care to link PSN and HoYoverse accounts correctly.
- Choose Android or iOS if portability is the deciding factor and your device meets the current requirements; plan on touch input.
- Choose Xbox if it is your established console ecosystem and the current local listing confirms availability.
Whichever platform you start with, use one linked HoYoverse Account, keep the server consistent, and verify compatibility before committing. Those checks matter more than an unverified claim that one platform is universally faster or better-looking.
