A blue screen every two days is a recurring symptom, not a diagnosis. A Windows stop error can involve hardware, a driver, or software; the exact stop code, any named module, and crash-dump evidence are needed to narrow it down. Start by recording what Windows reports and when the crashes happen, then investigate recent changes before trying repairs.
What to record before changing anything
At the next crash, write down the full stop code and any driver or module name displayed on screen. Note the date and what the ZBook was doing just before the error. In particular, record whether it occurred during a repeated workload, after sleep or resume, while docked, or after a Windows, driver, firmware, or hardware change. These patterns can help compare crashes; none identifies a faulty component on its own.

If Windows restarts before you can read the screen, use Microsoft’s blue-screen troubleshooting guidance. For a technician-level investigation, Microsoft’s stop-error guidance describes reviewing the code and configuring an automatic memory dump. A dump can preserve information for analysis, but it does not by itself establish the cause.
Work through the least disruptive checks first
- Review recent changes. If the crashes began after adding hardware, changing a driver, or installing an update, note exactly what changed and when. Microsoft’s troubleshooting steps include removing newly added hardware and investigating a suspect device. Avoid removing drivers indiscriminately.
- Use Safe Mode if normal startup is difficult. If Windows is unstable during startup, Safe Mode can help you carry out basic checks with fewer drivers and services running. Follow Microsoft’s recovery and troubleshooting steps rather than repeatedly forcing restarts.
- Check Device Manager. Look for devices marked with an error. For a device implicated by the stop code or recent change, use the appropriate update, disable, or uninstall option; do not disable security protections as a diagnostic shortcut.
- Install applicable Windows updates and check disk space. Microsoft says the amount of free space needed varies by configuration and gives 10% to 15% free as a general target. This is a recommendation, not a guarantee that freeing space will stop the crashes.
- Compare the next crash with the first. A repeated stop code or named module is useful evidence; changing codes, no named module, or a different pattern may point the investigation in another direction. These clues are not a diagnosis.
Check whether HP’s documented fix matches the exact message
HP’s release notes for BIOS and System Firmware V96, SoftPaq sp150204, version 01.03.01, effective December 5, 2023, list the ZBook Fury 16 G10 among supported systems. They describe a fix for a blue screen after Windows Update when the displayed message is Unsupported Processor. That note is relevant if—and only if—that specific message and a supported configuration match your case; it does not establish the cause of other recurring blue screens. See the HP driver and BIOS support page and confirm the exact product number before using a package. The 2023 release note should not be treated as proof that this is the latest BIOS.

HP’s ZBook Fury G10 MWS Windows 11 Driver Pack, SoftPaq sp158222, version 5.00, effective December 1, 2025, lists the Fury 16 G10 and Windows 11 versions 22H2, 23H2, 24H2, and 25H2. It includes drivers for areas such as storage, chipset, graphics, networking, and Thunderbolt. Check HP support for the current package and your exact configuration before installing drivers; a package’s existence does not show that any listed driver caused your crashes.
When to investigate firmware, dumps, and hardware
If basic checks do not resolve repeated errors, a technician can correlate crash dumps and event logs with the stop codes, then check applicable firmware and run relevant memory and hardware diagnostics. Microsoft’s stop-error analysis guidance reports that its aggregate analysis attributed 70% of stop errors to third-party driver code, 10% to hardware issues, 5% to Microsoft code, and 15% to causes that could not be determined because memory was too corrupted to analyze. Microsoft does not state a publication year on the reviewed page. These broad figures describe Microsoft’s analysis; they are not odds for this ZBook or an individual crash.

Windows recovery options are another avenue if updates, device checks, and diagnostics do not resolve the problem. Choose a recovery option with care: its effects depend on the option and your configuration. HP’s model support page lists setup and user guides. Use HP support for model-specific assistance and verify any maintenance instructions against the exact product configuration.
