Chris Skey and Kerry Bailey of BDO LLP were appointed joint administrators of ZavviGroup Ltd, which traded as Zavvi. The notice says outstanding orders and pre-orders cannot be fulfilled, new orders should not be placed, and returns cannot be accepted. If you are looking for licensed film, television or gaming merchandise now, treat Zavvi’s remaining catalogue pages as a guide to the products you want—not as evidence that checkout is operating.
The clearest broad alternative established here is EMP’s Film & TV merchandise catalogue. It covers clothing, accessories, homeware, figures, Funko Pop!, toys, posters and media, with regional storefront links. The right choice still depends on your country, franchise, product type, stock status and the seller’s terms.

What happened to Zavvi?
The official Zavvi customer notice records an immediate cessation of trading on 12 October 2026 and the appointment of joint administrators Chris Skey and Kerry Bailey of BDO LLP. It gives three instructions that matter to shoppers:
- Zavvi cannot fulfil outstanding orders or pre-orders.
- Customers should not place new orders through the website.
- Returns cannot be accepted.
The notice states: “The Company is unable to fulfil any outstanding orders or pre-orders. Customers should not place any new orders through the Company’s website.” That is the controlling information for customers, even if product pages or category pages remain visible. A catalogue page can show the kinds of licensed products Zavvi carried; it does not establish that an item is available, paid for safely or capable of dispatch.

If you have already paid
For an unfulfilled order, pre-order or disputed return, follow the notice’s advice and contact your bank, card issuer or payment provider promptly. Ask what payment-recovery or chargeback options apply to your payment method and circumstances. Keep your order confirmation, payment record, correspondence and any tracking information. Do not send another payment to “release” an order, and do not assume a still-live product page means the original transaction will complete.
The most clearly evidenced broad alternative: EMP
EMP’s official Film & TV merchandise page is the broadest specialist catalogue established for this comparison. Its categories include:
| Merchandise area | What the catalogue identifies | What to verify before ordering |
|---|---|---|
| Clothing | Adult clothing and children’s clothing | Size, material, licence or franchise, local stock and delivery terms |
| Accessories | Wearable and fan accessories | Exact character or logo, dimensions, included components and return conditions |
| Homeware | Licensed products for the home | Measurements, care instructions, electrical specifications where relevant and breakage policy |
| Figures and collectibles | Figures, including Funko Pop! figures | Manufacturer, edition, dimensions, packaging condition and whether the listing is a pre-order |
| Toys | Licensed toys | Age grading, safety information, release date and local availability |
| Posters | Film, television and other fan posters | Print size, finish, framing and shipping protection |
| Media | Physical media categories | Format, regional compatibility, language options and stock status |
The page displays examples such as a Corpse Bride statue, a Sesame Street shirt, a Lord of the Rings Funko Pop! figure and a Star Wars figure. These examples demonstrate the range of the catalogue; they are not a guarantee that a particular item, edition or franchise is in stock when you visit.

EMP links to regional shops, including UK and Ireland versions. Select the storefront that serves your address and check the currency, delivery charge, dispatch location, taxes and return rules at checkout. The available evidence does not establish a universal price advantage, delivery speed or service-quality ranking against every other retailer.
A quick route to the right option
| Your priority | Start with | Confirm before paying |
|---|---|---|
| A broad range across several fandoms | EMP’s Film & TV catalogue | Your regional storefront, exact stock and total delivered cost |
| A particular character or obscure older release | A marketplace or collector listing | Seller identity, authenticity, condition, provenance and buyer protection |
| Direct brand fulfilment | An official franchise store | Country service, licence scope, dispatch location, taxes and returns |
| A small display collectible | Licensed Funko Pop! or another named figure range | Character, edition number, box condition and whether it is new or resale |
| Physical games or media | A catalogue that identifies the exact format | Platform, region, language, compatibility and bonus-content terms |
How to choose a Zavvi alternative
There is no single replacement that is automatically right for every shopper. Compare a store or listing against the following six questions.
1. Does it serve your country?
Confirm that the shop accepts your delivery address. A regional storefront may use a different currency, catalogue, warehouse or set of consumer terms. Calculate the full delivered cost, including shipping, taxes and any import charges that your destination may impose. A low displayed item price can become more expensive after international delivery or duties, while a local storefront may show a higher shelf price but a clearer final total.
2. Does it sell the kind of item you need?
“Merchandise” covers very different products. A shop strong in shirts may have few statues; a collectibles seller may not carry homeware, posters or physical media. Search the precise category—such as clothing, bags, figures, toys, games, posters or media—instead of relying on a general franchise landing page. If you need a gift, also check whether the item is boxed, giftable and available by the date you need.

Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →3. Is your exact franchise and character represented?
Licensing is usually specific. A store can carry one series from a studio without carrying every character, season or game. Check the product title, images, manufacturer information and licence wording. Be cautious when a search result uses a franchise name but the item itself is unlicensed, fan-made or only loosely themed. For gaming merchandise, distinguish the game title from a similarly named film, character or publisher range.

- Gift:The horror movie action figure can be given as a gift to family, friends, and partners. Let it be a Halloween gift, let the recipient feel surprised, and pass on love to each other.

- Size:The horror movie action figure is 1.77*1.97 inches in size and has a base radius of 0.87 inches.
4. Is it in stock or a pre-order?
Read the availability label and estimated dispatch date. A pre-order can have a release date months away, and an order containing several items may be delayed if the seller ships together. Do not treat “listed” as “ready to dispatch.” If timing matters, ask whether in-stock items can ship separately and whether a changed release date gives you a cancellation or refund option.
5. Who is the seller?
On a marketplace, identify the merchant shown on the actual listing, not just the marketplace’s name. Check the seller’s location, condition description, feedback, dispatch estimate and return address. Marketplace pages can change sellers or stock without warning. A listing may be fulfilled by a platform while the legal seller remains a separate business, so read both sets of terms.
6. What exactly are you buying?
For collectibles, compare the manufacturer, edition, dimensions, packaging, exclusivity claim and release status. “Exclusive,” “limited” and “vaulted” are meaningful only when the listing explains who made the claim and what quantity or distribution it refers to. For clothing, verify the garment type and size chart; for media, verify the format and region; for homeware, verify measurements and whether accessories shown in photos are included.

Clothing and wearable accessories
Start with a specialist licensed-merchandise catalogue such as EMP’s, then filter by franchise and garment type. Check the size chart supplied for the specific item rather than assuming that sizes are identical across brands. Look for fabric composition, care instructions, print placement and whether the product is made to order. For children’s clothing, verify the stated age or size range and any safety information. If a design is sold in several colourways, make sure the selected variant is the one pictured and that the return policy covers opened or tried-on apparel.
Figures and display collectibles
Use the manufacturer and product number to distinguish a new release from a resale listing. Compare height or scale, materials, included accessories and packaging. A photograph can show a prototype or stock image, so rely on the written edition and condition description as well. If a figure is marked as a pre-order, record the expected release date and the seller’s cancellation policy before paying. Ask whether the outer box is considered part of the collectible’s condition, since dents or missing inserts can materially affect resale value.
Licensed Funko Pop! figures
Licensed Funko Pop! figures are a precise physical-product category for readers who want a small collectible rather than clothing or homeware. EMP lists Funko Pop! as a category and displays franchise figures. You may also find individual listings through Amazon or other marketplaces, but no particular seller, character, edition, price, stock position or regional delivery promise has been verified here.
Before buying one, check the exact character name, number or edition, box condition, seller identity and dispatch location. If the listing is for a convention, store or country exclusive, confirm that the exclusivity claim applies to that exact release and not merely to a similar photograph. The cheapest listing is not necessarily the best value if it is damaged, used or imported with additional charges. Compare the total delivered cost and the protection available if the item arrives with a crushed box, paint defect or missing accessory.

For homeware, record dimensions and care requirements; for electrical items, check voltage and plug compatibility for your country. Posters need special attention to size, paper or fabric finish, tube or flat packaging and whether a frame is included. Toys should show age grading and safety information appropriate to your market. These checks prevent a franchise match from hiding a practical mismatch. Fragile statues and glassware may have special packaging or return exclusions, so read those provisions before ordering.

Games and physical media
Verify the exact platform, edition and regional compatibility. A game may be a disc, cartridge, code or collector’s package, and “media” can include formats that are not playable on every device. Check language, subtitles, region coding and whether any advertised bonus is still available. For used items, ask how the seller grades the disc, case and artwork. A collector’s edition can contain a game plus a figure or art book, so confirm that every advertised component is included rather than assuming the product photo is a complete contents list.
Alternative shopping routes beyond one specialist catalogue
EMP is the broad specialist option directly evidenced here, but readers may also investigate two other routes. Use an official franchise store when a brand’s own licensing and fulfilment are important, and use a marketplace when you need a hard-to-find character or older release. Treat each route as a separate verification exercise rather than assuming that all stores carry the same licence.
| Route | Strength | Checks required | Evidence available for this article |
|---|---|---|---|
| Specialist catalogue (EMP) | Broad mix of apparel, accessories, homeware, figures, toys, posters, media and Funko Pop! | Regional storefront, stock, price, shipping, returns and exact edition | Official category catalogue and regional-shop links |
| Official franchise store | Potentially direct licence and franchise-specific range | Whether it serves your country, local taxes, fulfilment, returns and product availability | Current store-by-store details are not established here |
| Marketplace listing | Large selection and possible access to older or uncommon releases | Seller identity, authenticity, condition, photos, dispatch, returns and import costs | Individual listings must be checked; no listing is verified here |
| Collector or resale listing | May provide discontinued or limited items | Provenance, authenticity, damage, completeness, price and buyer protection | Terms vary by listing and seller |
Do not call any route the cheapest or “best” without specifying the country, product and condition. Shipping, tax and currency differences can reverse the apparent item-price advantage. A specialist catalogue may be simpler for a new, ordinary release, while a resale listing may be the only route for a discontinued item but carry greater authenticity and condition risk.
Understanding the real cost
Compare the amount you will actually pay, not just the headline item price. Add the listed shipping charge, destination taxes, possible duties, marketplace fees and any surcharge for a large, fragile or expedited parcel. Check whether the currency conversion is handled by the retailer, your card issuer or a payment provider. Save the checkout total because prices, stock and delivery estimates can change after you return to a page.
Also compare the cost of a problem. A local seller may offer easier returns, while an overseas seller may require international postage or customs paperwork for a refund. For a pre-order, consider how long your payment may be tied up and whether the seller can charge or amend the order when the release date moves. These are decision factors even when two listings show the same item price.
A safe checkout process
- Choose the correct regional site. Confirm that your country appears in the delivery selector and note the displayed currency.
- Open the full product page. Record the franchise, character, manufacturer, dimensions, format, condition and availability label.
- Separate stock from pre-order. Note the dispatch or release estimate and whether mixed orders ship together or separately.
- Calculate the delivered total. Add shipping, taxes, duties and any marketplace fees shown before payment.
- Read returns and cancellations. Check the return window, exclusions for personalised or pre-order items, return postage and refund method.
- Verify the seller where applicable. On a marketplace, inspect the merchant name, location, feedback and condition statement on the exact listing.
- Save evidence. Keep the product page, order confirmation, promised date and payment receipt as screenshots or downloaded records.
- Use a payment method with buyer protections. Review your bank or card provider’s dispute process before an issue arises.
Common failure modes and fixes
A search result still shows Zavvi products
Use the product page only to identify the franchise or item type. The customer notice says not to place new orders, so do not enter payment details on the Zavvi site.
The item is listed but unavailable in your region
Switch to the appropriate local storefront or search an official franchise store or marketplace that explicitly ships to your address. Recalculate taxes and delivery rather than copying a price from another country.
The listing does not say whether it is licensed
Ask the seller for the manufacturer, licence or product number. If the seller cannot provide basic provenance for a collectible, treat the listing as unverified and consider a different seller.

- PREMIUM VINYL MATERIAL - Made from high-quality, durable vinyl, this collectible is built to last and withstand daily wear, ensuring long-lasting enjoyment for fans and collectors alike
The product arrives damaged
Photograph the outer packaging, inner protection and item before discarding anything. Compare the damage with the seller’s stated condition and start the documented return or buyer-protection process within its deadline.
A pre-order date changes
Save the original release estimate, read the seller’s revised notice and check cancellation rights. Avoid assuming that a delayed pre-order can be cancelled under the same terms as an in-stock item.
A familiar logo hides a different product
Read the specification rather than relying on the hero image. A shirt, poster or figure may have several sizes, variants or manufacturers under one franchise search. Check the selected option in the basket and in the confirmation email.
A deal disappears after you add it to the basket
Record the item and seller while it is available, then recheck the final price and stock message. Marketplace inventory can change quickly; do not substitute a different edition without comparing its condition, dimensions and licence details.
Affiliate links and product recommendations
If this guide later carries monetized links, each destination needs a fresh check. EMP’s site contains an Affiliate Program link, but current eligibility, commission, cookie duration, terms and market availability are not established here. Likewise, an Amazon link should point to a specific, currently available listing only after checking its character, edition, seller, condition and local delivery. No tracking URL or commission claim is supported.
The practical recommendation is therefore conditional: use EMP first when you want a broad licensed-merchandise catalogue and it serves your location; use franchise-specific or marketplace routes when the precise character, release or format is not available there; and verify every listing at the point of purchase.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I still order from Zavvi?
No. Zavvi’s 12 October 2026 customer notice says the business ceased trading, cannot fulfil outstanding orders or pre-orders, and customers should not place new orders through its website.
What should I do about an unpaid or undelivered Zavvi order?
Contact your bank, card issuer or payment provider promptly to ask what payment-recovery options apply. Keep order confirmations, payment records, correspondence and tracking information.

Is EMP a direct replacement for Zavvi?
EMP is the broad specialist option evidenced here. Its Film & TV catalogue lists clothing, accessories, homeware, figures, Funko Pop!, toys, posters and media. Whether it suits you depends on your country, franchise and the item’s live availability.
Does EMP deliver to my country?
EMP links regional storefronts, including UK and Ireland versions. Select the storefront serving your address and confirm delivery coverage, currency, shipping, taxes and returns before paying.
Where can I buy licensed Funko Pop! figures?
EMP lists Funko Pop! as a category. Amazon and other marketplaces may also have listings, but check the exact character, edition, seller, condition, dispatch location and total delivered cost for each listing.
Recommended Free Tools
How can I tell whether a collectible is genuinely licensed?
Look for the manufacturer, product number, licence information, edition details and clear condition description. If a seller cannot provide basic provenance, treat the item as unverified.
Are marketplace listings safe for discontinued merchandise?
They can provide access to older or uncommon releases, but risk varies by seller. Check authenticity, photographs, condition, completeness, return terms, buyer protection and possible import charges.
Should I buy a pre-order from an alternative retailer?
Only after recording the expected release date, dispatch method and cancellation terms. A listed item is not necessarily in stock, and mixed orders may wait for the latest-release item.
The Bottom Line
Zavvi’s official notice says it ceased trading immediately on 12 October 2026, cannot fulfil open orders or pre-orders, and should not receive new orders. For a broad replacement catalogue, start with EMP and its regional storefronts, then verify the exact franchise, edition, seller, stock status, delivered cost and return terms. Official franchise stores and marketplaces can fill specialist or discontinued-item gaps, but neither should be treated as automatically cheaper, safer or universally available.
