YouTube TV add-ons are worth paying for only when they cover something your household actually watches that the base plan does not. For sports, Sports Plus is a broad monthly bundle, while NFL Sunday Ticket is specifically for out-of-market Sunday afternoon games. Premium-channel prices and availability can depend on your account and home area, so check the offer shown in Membership settings before subscribing.
Start with the content you want—not the add-on name
Before buying an extra subscription, identify the programs, channels, or games you want. Then check three things: whether they are already included in your YouTube TV plan, whether the add-on actually carries them, and what it leaves out. This matters especially for sports: a package can include a prominent channel or league without providing every game or event you expect.

- List the specific shows, channels, or matchups your household intends to watch.
- Check the current channel and add-on offer for your home ZIP code.
- Compare the add-on’s coverage and access terms with the way you plan to watch.
- Use the price displayed in your own Membership settings when a current public price is not established.
YouTube TV says its service is available throughout the United States and includes more than 100 broadcast, cable, and regional sports channels, but available networks and add-ons should be checked by home ZIP code. Its network-availability help page uses Showtime as an example of a premium add-on; it does not provide a complete, universal premium-channel price list.

| NFL Sunday Ticket | Out-of-market regular-season Sunday afternoon games carried on CBS and FOX | Seasonal price not stated on the reviewed YouTube TV page; check the official seasonal pricing offer. Is Sports Plus worth it?
Sports Plus is most likely to make sense for a household that will use several of its included networks—or that particularly wants NFL RedZone—often enough to justify a recurring $10.99 monthly charge. If RedZone is the only draw, remember that this is a bundle rather than an individual RedZone purchase through YouTube TV.

- Up to 4K HDR with Dolby Vision delivers captivating, true-to-life detail[4]; and you can connect speakers that support Dolby Atmos for more immersive 3D sound
What is included
YouTube TV Help lists NFL RedZone, beIN SPORTS, beIN SPORTS XTRA, Billiard TV, FanDuel TV, Fight Network, FOX Soccer Plus, Impact Wrestling, RACER Network, Outside, Overtime, PlayersTV, PokerGO+, SportsGrid, Stadium, Tennis Channel, VSiN, and Willow with Sports Plus. The package supports live viewing and recording with unlimited DVR storage, according to the same help page.
How to decide
- Consider it if NFL RedZone or multiple other listed networks are regular viewing choices in your home.
- Compare alternatives first if you want just one particular sport or event; the Sports Plus network list is a bundle and its channels cannot be bought individually within this package.
- Skip it for now if you cannot name the programming you expect to watch. A long channel list alone does not establish value for your household.
Which NFL games do you get—and what does Sunday Ticket add?
YouTube TV’s 2026 NFL guide describes local and national NFL broadcasts on CBS, FOX, NBC, ESPN, and NFL Network as part of the main YouTube TV or Sports plan. Sunday Ticket addresses a narrower gap: regular-season Sunday afternoon games on CBS and FOX that are not carried on your local broadcasts.

What Sunday Ticket covers
It is designed for viewers who want eligible out-of-market Sunday afternoon games. For example, it can help when the local CBS or FOX broadcast does not show the game you want to watch because that game is outside your market.
What it does not cover
- Local games carried in your market.
- National broadcasts such as Sunday Night Football or Monday Night Football.
- Postseason games.
Sunday Ticket is not an all-games NFL pass. Before buying, check whether the games you care about are out-of-market Sunday afternoon matchups or are instead local, nationally televised, or postseason games.

Purchase route and price
YouTube’s official Sunday Ticket page describes two routes: buy it as an add-on to an active YouTube TV plan, or buy it as a standalone YouTube Primetime Channel. The standalone route does not require YouTube TV and has different coverage. The page states that YouTube TV’s base plan was $82.99 per month at the time it was accessed in 2026; that is the base-plan price, not the price of Sunday Ticket. Check the official seasonal offer for Sunday Ticket’s current price rather than treating the base-plan figure as its cost.
Options for local NFL broadcasts
If your goal is to watch a local or nationally televised game rather than an out-of-market Sunday afternoon matchup, Sunday Ticket may not be the relevant add-on. YouTube TV’s NFL guide identifies these YouTube Primetime Channels options:
Rank #4
- The Google TV Streamer (4K) delivers your favorite entertainment quickly, easily, and personalized to you[1,2]
- HDMI 2.1 cable required (sold separately)
- See movies and TV shows from all your services right from your home screen[2]; and find new things to watch with tailored recommendations for everyone in your home based on their interests and viewing habits

- Up to 4K HDR with Dolby Vision delivers captivating, true-to-life detail[4]; and you can connect speakers that support Dolby Atmos for more immersive 3D sound
- Paramount+ for local CBS Sunday afternoon games.
- FOX One for local FOX Sunday afternoon games.
- Peacock for Sunday Night Football and local NBC games.
These are distinct from Sunday Ticket’s out-of-market role. Check each service’s current availability and offer for your location and purchase route before subscribing.
Premium channels: check the account offer and access terms
Google’s help pages name examples such as Showtime, Paramount+ with SHOWTIME, and STARZ, but do not establish one complete current catalog and price schedule for every YouTube TV subscriber. Availability can vary with home area, plan, and purchase route. Check the networks available for your home ZIP code and inspect the price shown in your own YouTube TV Membership settings instead of relying on an assumed universal price.

Paramount+ with SHOWTIME is not necessarily the same purchase everywhere
Google says pricing and content availability for Paramount+ with SHOWTIME differ between YouTube TV and YouTube Primetime Channels. For the YouTube TV option, some programs are unavailable, some titles may take time to appear in the YouTube TV Library, and YouTube TV credentials no longer provide direct access to the service’s separate website or app. If you need those programs or app credentials, compare the access terms before choosing the YouTube TV add-on.
Some add-ons require an active YouTube TV plan
Google lists 4K Plus, NFL RedZone with Sports Plus, Entertainment Plus, NFL Sunday Ticket, and Spanish Plus among packages that require an active YouTube TV subscription. That requirement applies to those listed packages; standalone YouTube Primetime Channels are a separate purchase route and do not require YouTube TV.
Quick Recap
A practical way to choose
- Name the viewing need. Write down the specific channel, program, or games you want, rather than starting from a package’s marketing name.
- Check what you already receive. Review your plan’s included networks and the local or national broadcast options relevant to the event.
- Match the need to coverage. For NFL, distinguish local and national games from out-of-market Sunday afternoon games; for premium channels, check both the title availability and the service through which you would watch.
- Confirm eligibility and price. Check the offer in Membership settings and verify whether an active YouTube TV plan is required. For local network availability, use your home ZIP code.
- Subscribe only if the recurring or seasonal cost fits your use. A package is easier to justify when you can identify the programming you will watch and the exclusions do not undermine that reason.
Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon at the time of purchase will apply.
